“I love this small family owned Vietnamese restaurant that is run by a couple. It's my weekly run for pho during the work day. They also have other food and drink options on the menu which I tried and everything is delicious. They are quick, personable, friendly, and the food and drinks are great value. Lots of parking. I also love their fruit tea drinks.“

“Such a great spot!!!!!
The vibe is lovely, the staff are friendly, and the food is delicious. We tried the chicken kaffir salad, pho, and jumbo prawn garlic noodles—everything was so flavorful. We’ll definitely be back soon!“

“A lovely spot for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese food. The dishes are full of flavor and clearly made with care. Portions are just right, and the pricing is more than fair for the quality you get.
The staff are friendly, fast, and attentive, which adds to the overall relaxed and welcoming vibe.
The interior could use some refreshing—the chairs and overall decor feel a bit worn and dated. That said, the experience is still very positive, and the food absolutely makes up for it. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!“

“I went to pick up some food for an elderly resident and the staff were so wonderful. Not only was the food prepared quickly but as I waited, they brought me tea, which was delicious.
They then made sure that my “to go” order was packaged properly for easy transport.
The food looked amazing, the staff were great! Highly recommend.“

“Been here a few times already. Tonight we tried the beef pho. You have a choice of raw steak, meatballs or both. I tried both. Really good! A lot of noodles so it is a big meal. Next time I'm going for raw steak, not that the meatballs were no good, just a matter of taste. Definitely will be back! Vietnamese iced coffee for dessert and that was heaven!“

“So the first time I went in Nov, found out that they only serve it with 1 egg instead of 2 that’s advertised. Still a lot of food for $20. Mine was really oily compared with my hubby’s, so I wasn’t able to clean my plate off with the bread. Came Dec on a Fri at 1p am they were closed! So bummed!! Craving for it all weekend so came back on Monday and had to wait a while bc they ran out of bread and had to go out to get more. Then found out afterwards that they substituted my xu mai for a piece of spam!! Oh well. Still yummy. Gave them one less star for the inconsistency. You order at the counter and they give you buzzer to come back in 10-15 mins to pick up. Not much of a customer service, 1 lady and 1 man working, since they are so busy cooking it fresh to order hot and sizzling for the cold food court, lol. It’s a great $20 meal that comes with hot tea and salad too!“

“We discovered this gem by accident while passing by on a road trip, and oh, it was incredible.
You get so much value for any dish you order. The Bun Bo Hue with the short rib was so tender, the meat simply fell off the bone! The bone was about 10 inches long too .Their broth is also super flavorful, probably because of the fermented fish they add into it.
The pho was tasty on every level, and the tripe and tendon were super soft too. We could barely finish our bowls.
Service was quick and friendly, especially our server Yen. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
We will definitely show up again!“

“This authentic Pho cafe had a busy atmosphere with many people dining in & picking up. The place didnt look too shabby nor displaced in any way. They had Viet music when we arrived (which are the best), Noticed there were older folks running the place, bussing tables and taking orders along with serving the tables. If I had to guess this place may have been here for a bit. Maybe thats why its busy the time we stopped by. The food was medium bold, but the bowl was a bit smaller than what im used to. The priced average with every pho place out there. Plenty of veg to add to the bowl and was nice and clean from what I observed. Would I come back? Yes, no doubt. Would I recommend yes. Why the 4 stars again medium bold taste with smaller size pho bowl than usual. But worth to discover and add it to your list of go to's. BTW many other dishes were offered. Some come try it out and fill this place up, REGULARLY.“

“This place is amazing. I am so glad that I found it and now I know where to go when I have to order or dine in Vietnamese. The owner is super sweet and so nice. And the soup is exactly what i needed. Full of nutrition, no grease or useless oils to make it shiny and fresh steamed vegetables. Tofu is super fresh.
This is first time I am reviewing a place while eating, couldn’t wait till I finish my meal!
I am going to be their regular customer. Highly recommend this place!“

“Your local, not-so-hidden gem. If you're into fresh tofu, soy milk, or legit viet snacks, Hung Vuong Tofu is the spot.
Tucked away in an unassuming plaza in San Jose, this place is small but always busy and for good reason.
This no frills spot is basically a grab and go. The service is fast and efficient but don't expect an amazing atmosphere and sit down vibes. This is not what the spot is about.
Their house made tofu is amazing. The silken tofu is sooooo silky. The fried tofu is crispy on the outside and custardy on the inside. Don't forget to grab soy milk, as well.
Overall, this is a great spot to get your tofu and soy milk in San ose.“

“Easily one of the best pho spots I’ve had in the U.S. The flavor leans toward a Northern-style profile, with a clear, deeply savory broth that feels both clean and rich at the same time. It’s not overly sweet, and the depth of flavor really stands out.
The condiments also make a difference here—the house chili sauce and pickled garlic vinegar add an extra layer that enhances the overall experience without overpowering the broth. Everything feels intentional and well-balanced.
One thing to note: the salted coffee is noticeably on the sweeter side and doesn’t quite match the balance of the rest of the menu, so it’s probably not the best choice to order.
Overall, the pho is the clear highlight here and absolutely worth coming back for.“

“Very easy ordering online. I picked up dinner at 7:30pm on a Sunday night, and there were still many families eating. Warm and convivial atmosphere. I've tried and enjoyed the pork vermicelli and the grilled pork plate. My friend had chicken pho. We were both super happy with our orders. Fresh ingredients and the perfect proportion of veggies to come w the dish. I find some other restaurants skimp here, but I really love how the pickled carrots and radish and lettuce balance out the grilled meat.“

“Return here so many time because the food are so affordable and delicious. There are a few restaurants in the building, but I like Quan Hue the most simply because they're the best here. I also paired my meal with soy milk/corn milk from the neighboring restaurant, it's the best combo ever“

“Tucked away on a small street, but wow Pho Garlic San Jose is a true hidden gem. Their specialty pho is incredible. The broth is rich, aromatic, and comforting, and the meat is tender without being chewy or too soft. The popcorn chicken is perfectly crispy with a light batter, not greasy at all. Every bite was satisfying. Parking is available in the lot behind the restaurant, which makes it very convenient. Definitely one of the best places for pho in the area. We’ll be back!“

“A pretty solid pho restaurant in the area. The building is pretty unique, that's all on its own area in a plaza and it looks like a lot prettier prior to a renovation of some kind. It looks that they deleted off some of the walls and redid some of the seating and the colors of a little more muted too. At least there's a gumball machine. Speaking of which, they have an extensive menu with a lot of pho and rice dishes and even some sandwiches and even milk tea! I had to shaken beef and it came with some french fries that were crinkle cut and was not too bad! It was a little chewy even with the meat but it's okay, at least the onions and bell peppers wernt raw or anything else. I absolutely love their spring rolls! It's got the normal feelings like the noodles and the bean sprouts and the shrimp and chicken, but they also put a Chinese donut stick inside too! That made it a little crunchy and I really liked that! The price was also pretty good for the quantity that you received, which wasn't the same that I could say the same for every other dish here at $6. The shaken beef was $17... They also had a milk tea for $6. All of this was pretty easy to order and because there wasn't a lot of people today on a weekday service was really fast and easy. Payment is also easy too as you get up from your table to pay as well as obtain any takeout boxes as needed.“
“Best on the menu - They use fresh herbs, balanced flavors (sweet, sour, salty, umami), and light but satisfying textures. Some of the top Vietnamese foods people consider the best include:
• Phở – The iconic noodle soup with beef or chicken, fresh herbs, lime, and chili.
• Bánh mì – A crispy French-style baguette stuffed with meats, pickled veggies, cilantro, and chili sauce.
• Bún bò Huế – A spicy beef noodle soup from Central Vietnam with lemongrass, pork, and thick noodles.
• Gỏi cuốn (spring rolls) – Fresh rice paper rolls with shrimp, pork, vermicelli, and herbs, served with peanut sauce.
• Cơm tấm – Broken rice with grilled pork chop, egg, and fish sauce.
• Cá kho tộ – Caramelized and braised fish in clay pot, savory and sweet.
• Chả giò – Fried spring rolls, crispy outside and savory inside.
• Hủ tiếu – A Southern-style noodle soup with clear broth and toppings like seafood or pork.“

“Been wanting to try this spot for the longest but feel like I would be let down because Nam Vang on Alvin is elite and always a sj staple. Eventually gave it a shot because my brother went give his opinion. Came on a Monday around 5pm. No one in sight... we were the only ones there, which wasn't a good sign, service was great though.
Overall clean and your standard Vietnamese restaurant.
To the food! Man the #1 was honestly as good or little better than nam vang. I did it with broth today since my body needed some thing soupy from the weekend. Meat was very tender, soupy was cleansing my soul, and a lot of flavor from the dried shrimp and ground pork. Chinese donut was fresh it felt like. Only thing the meatball was not sticking together as much as I like (I like Nam vang meatballs better)
Glad I have this place a shot. Probably will go here again soon to try the non broth one.
Also heard it could be same family as owner of Nam Van, which would make sense.
I don’t understand why this place not busy. Maybe location issue. Feel like restaurants there don’t get enough foot traffic“

“Hole in the wall with the yummiest Hu Tieu in the Bay Area. Very authentic and taste just like something you’d get on the streets of Vietnam. The portion is Huge! I got #1 with soup on the side with a order of yutiao. It came with all the inners and seafood. 10/10 would recommend!
The building might be old, but the food has so much authenticity and vibe is immaculate. Chefs kiss.“

“I passed this restaurant all the time but never gave it any through. Being a rainy day, my wife wanted to try it. I had #5 on the menu, WOW !! Just like how mom uses to make it. It's an authentic original flavor from Vietnam. Not the fusion BS food that's pop-up restaurant is doing now a days. When I went to pay the bill, i looked in the kitchen and saw all the cooks were old in their 60s +, I understood why the flavors brought back memories of the pass. Yes, it's $$, but it's about the same as everywhere now.“

“This place is a fantastic spot for authentic Vietnamese food! The moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and the smell of fresh herbs and spices made me feel like I was in Vietnam. I ordered the pho and the spring rolls, and both were amazing—the broth was rich and flavorful, and the rolls were fresh and crispy. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable, which is always a win. The staff was friendly and attentive, though the service was a bit slow, probably because it was busy. The only downside was that the place is pretty small, so finding a table during peak hours can be a challenge. Also, the parking situation wasn’t great, so I had to circle around for a bit. But honestly, the food more than made up for it. If you’re craving real Vietnamese flavors, this is the spot!
Vegetarian options: Yes, there are a few vegan options on the menu, like vegetable pho and vegan spring rolls, but the selection isn't huge.“

“No frills vietnamese food. Reasonable price and portion ($16.99 for bun thit with pork and shrimp).
The grilled pork was seasoned most heavy but it's balanced out with the bun. The shrimp is just grilled without much seasoning which was fine by me but can see others wanting more seasoning (maybe a glaze of fish sauce at the end would be great).
I walked over from Valley Medical for a late lunch (3:30p) between regular meal hours and glad that they are open and has clean interior. They also offer some thai food, smoothie/milk tea, and Banh mi ($12.50)“

“Went here on New Year’s Eve for a warm bowl and tried both the H4 – Nam Vang and the Filet Mignon pho, both with clear noodles. The Nam Vang came with sliced pork, ground pork, and one prawn in a clean, savory broth—light but flavorful. The filet mignon pho was a solid upgrade: tender beef, silky noodles, and a broth that leaned richer but still easy to sip.
I was craving a vermicelli bowl and bánh mì too, but heads up—they only serve pho. No rice plates or sandwiches. Still, if you’re in the mood for Vietnamese comfort food, this spot delivers fast and clean.“

“My forever comforting place to eat. Back when I was in Vietnam, bun moc has always been my favorite dish and Bun Moc Ong Ta is the closest to what I had in my homeland. The broth is just so amazing, no other place can beat it, and also, I like the way they made their moc from pork paste (sorry in Hanoi they made moc from minced pork & mushroom), but this is southern style bun moc and I definitely prefer this version more. You have to try bun moc here and thanks me later“

“OMG! I have been looking for this flavor for 3 years straight, from Canada to California. This tasted like the noodle soup stores in my grownup neighborhood back in my hometown. This brought back lots of fun memories from childhood.Their Shrimp Wonton Egg Noodle Soup and Shrimp Wonton with Egg Rice Noodle Soup were delicious. The Vietnamese iced milk coffee was strong ?The restaurant was quite small, so the seating was cramped. But, they had both indoor and outdoor seatings.
Vegetarian options: Don’t bother. There’s no vegetarian dishes here.
Kid-friendliness: Kid high chairs
Wheelchair accessibility: Better stay at outdoor seating because the indoor seating is quite cramped.“
