“If you’re a fan of fresh, thoughtfully made food, The Sourdough Eatery in San Jose is an easy recommendation. Sourdough bread baked in house, hand sliced meats, and the mayo is the absolute secret sauce. Place is an old brick building next to the main county office and cash only BUT they do accept Venmo. Barbara the owner really nice, and you’ve got to admire all the artwork when you walk in. Oh yeah try the potato salad, you’ll thank me later“

“Mama’s House is the spot if you want authentic Vietnamese-style flavors. Had the chicken breakfast sandwich (no egg) and it still hit. The calamansi tea is refreshing and delicious, and the Vietnamese iced coffee is strong and perfect if you’re a caffeine fiend like me.
Good stuff.“

“This place never misses! It’s always a for sure stop when visiting here in SJ. The bread is crispy but not overly done where it’s cutting the roof of your mouth. All the proteins have the right about of flavor they have everything perfected and I’ve never had one that was less than amazing. 10/10 and I always send all my friends who come and visit the bay to come and grab a sandwich from here!! 🔥🔥🔥 IT NEVER MISSES!!“

“Ordered curbside pickup today. Had so much trouble finding the pickup spot. I finally gave up and called for help. The employees went above and beyond to get me my order. They didn’t make me feel bad about not finding the spot. Their kindness helped me be less stressed out. I have an injury, so this was so appreciated. Really fresh, delicious food that was beautiful and colorful. Highly recommend.“

“I don't like the new site design with placing the order upfront and then waiting to pickup the sandwiches. it feels like a burger place then the old Togos. the new design is slower and I've had more problems, like getting the wrong sandwich in my bag since multiple people are working on a single order. if this continues to be an issue I'll find a different location to visit.“

“Togo's always hits the spot, although they seem pretty crazy expensive these days. A half a salad is $10! I used to get the half salad, half sandwich combo which was perfect amount of food. Now you can get a half salad and a mini sandwich, on the mini sandwich you can only have one meat unless it's the Italian.“

“This deli has the best sandwiches and salads. Lots of options. I personally am vegan and they have a great vegetarian sandwich, all very fresh.. The bread absolutely makes the sandwich amazing. There is nothing quite like a freshly baked warm sourdough sandwich.“

“this is a no-frills sandwich spot in an office park, with so little branding that it's easy to miss that it's there. The chipotle chicken sandwich was genuinely delicious and the service was great. it's a weekday lunch to grab and go, like Togos,(when you can get it expensed) but I wouldn't come here to hang out.“

“I've been eating here for about twenty years and this place is really a pillar of the community, providing quality homestyle meals at prices that working-class people can afford. When I was broke in my 20s I came here to get a decent meal. This place was also our go-to place when my wife and I first got married and were just starting out. The food is delicious and the sandwiches are amazing and I always look forward to coming back.“

“I’m new to this sub house, but ever since I started eating here I fell into a sub addiction. lol 😝 The subs here are so delicious and fresh tasting. A little pricey for me but I still pay for it, I recommend the sweet and spicy meatball sub, and the steak and cheese, and the spicy Cajun chicken sandwich. All so yummy 😋 Also very friendly staff. Autumn is a young girl who works there and she is very awesome and hardworking.“

“Everything is great except it was super warm in there. One of the employees said it was almost 80 degrees on the thermostat on the wall. I wouldn’t eat there. Definitely a TOgo order! I think it would be nice to get these employees some AC or fans. Also seems like a good idea to keep food ingredients from getting so warm. Still love Asian salad dressing soo much.“

“This deli housed in the First America plaza is geared to the locals working in the tech and finance industries in several buildings. I went in anyway as a tourist.
NOEMI explained the items to me and gave me a sample of a spicy chicken tortilla soup. I chose a delicious tomato basil in cup size and larger bowl size is available Soup is great with grated cheese. I opted for no croutons
The menu includes coffees, two styles of hot chocolate and the Spicy Maya is great bottled CocaCola ® products available.
They offer an array of breakfast goodies, salads, sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, and signature tortas This is a heat place to cater a corporate event ir luncheon
The venue is accessible in the first floor of the building. The deli door is open. Accessible order and pick up counter with accessible indoor tables and uncovered area outdoors with a few accessible tables along slightly busy drive
I parked in 2 hour free spot on Metro but these spots are hard to come by
Men’s and women’s restrooms are accessible with dedicated stall 2 grab bars and 5ftx 10 ft space and mostly hands free operation Need a key code restroom sign in braille
They also cater for events and lunches“

“Mom and pop shop that changed management a couple years back; I’ve had the sandwiches a couple times, and it’s always hit the spot! As a San Jose native, there’s a lot of good bánh mì places but this one is definitely solid. All the sandwiches are made to order and you get value for the prices, especially with the buy 5 get one free deal. The service is great and the owners are usually there in the back! I recommend giving it a try. My go-to is the bánh mì đặc biệt, it’s a classic and I personally like my sandwiches a bit fatty to balance with the veggies.“

“Speaking of Vietnamese ‘street food’ this small shop have a very great selection of snacks and to go meals.
Situated in the Lion Plaza, parking is so easy. The mall, in business for over 40 years, is a nice and relaxing environment without any stressful parking.
Most of the specialty dishes are made on site by the owners guaranteeing fresh items, especially the sweet dessert Chè with coconut milk.
I heartily recommend this small sandwich shop. It’s one of my favorite stops to fix my Vietnamese taste craving. 🌷“

“The bánh mì is good. Lots of cilantro in it. I'm not a cilantro person. But that's just personal preference... I remove some of it, it's perfect. I like this place. Wish the drink was less sweet. Also had a cilantro taste at the end for some reason, didn't like that

It's a great small shop, so don't let the simple esthetics on its interior fool you. Such a great find for quick banh mi sandwiches that are fairly priced for the flavor it brings. It's so good!

“I don't usually come to the area, I just stopped in for lunch on a work day. It has been several decades since I have eaten a TOGO's sandwich. The sandwich was ok I guess but the rolls are too thick and dry for my taste, I guess I wish I had gotten sliced bread. Price was $11.00 The highlight of the visit and the reason for the review is the absolute angel Sheryl who welcomed me and conversated with me! She is a real gem and I hope she is greatly appreciated. We need more people like her in the service industry.“
“1st time here 2/26/25. Only because doing a pick up exhibition at hotel across the street. Nice joint. In a ritzy place. All the office Bldg. the sandwiches were on point. I had the pastrami. Loaded. Delicious My Co Worker ordered a BLT. Said it was good. Thank you if in the area again will be back 👍😊“

“My visit to Lee’s Sandwiches in San Jose was a quick and satisfying stop for Vietnamese food. The shop has a simple, casual atmosphere and is usually busy with people grabbing takeout or a fast meal.
I ordered a classic bánh mì sandwich, and it was very good. The baguette was fresh and crispy on the outside while soft inside, which is exactly what makes a good bánh mì. The filling included flavorful meat, pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, cilantro, and a light spread of mayonnaise, creating a nice balance of savory and fresh flavors.
Lee’s Sandwiches is actually one of the largest Vietnamese sandwich chains in the United States, founded in San Jose in 1983 by the Lê family. It helped popularize bánh mì and Vietnamese iced coffee among American customers.
The service was quick and efficient, which makes it a convenient place when you want a fast and affordable meal. Besides sandwiches, they also sell pastries, drinks, and Vietnamese desserts.
Overall, Lee’s Sandwiches is a reliable spot for a tasty bánh mì and Vietnamese coffee. It’s simple, fast, and perfect for a quick bite in San Jose.“

“Ordered the barbecued pork on garlic bread and was pleasantly surprised on how crispy the vegetables were in the sandwich. We arrived to a long line of people waiting to pick up their order, while the order process was quick, the waiting time was a little longer than expected. I’m glad that I got to try their banh mi on garlic bread.“
