Sourdough Eatery Reviews
What a unique find! Interesting decorations from the past, friendly service and, oh yes, high quality sandwiches. Get there early or enjoy waiting in line looking around at the museum-like decor. Nice garden patio to dine peacefully.
I have a bar in Hayward and I have to travel down here periodically to get soda syrup from a specific spot in Santa Clara. Traditionally I go to another sourdough deli, but accidentally put this one in instead on maps. I decided to go with it, figuring I’m down to try a new spot.

100/10! I always say that the carb, or the vehicle carrying the food, is the most important. The bread here is excellent and so good. Everything was really good too but honestly the bread is what makes this shop shine! That and the two-person operation.
Highly recommend!!

The Sourdough Eatery is a family-owned sandwich shop with a charming interior decorated with paintings by the owner, Barbara. The menu features a selection of delicious sandwiches served on warm, fluffy sourdough bread, with options like the popular spicy turkey and potato salad. Customers can dine inside surrounded by Barbara's artwork or enjoy the cozy brick patio. The sandwiches are priced around $14 and are described as fabulous, with plenty of mayo and a special spread. While the bread may not be freshly baked on-site, the overall experience is enjoyable, with friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere. The eatery has been a favorite for many, with a history of serving delicious sandwiches like the garlic turkey. Visitors from different places, including Southern California, make special trips just to enjoy the tasty food and see the beautiful owner and her sandwich maker. The shop is known for its fresh warm bread, excellent tuna, ham, and turkey sandwiches, and even offers sandwiches named after Idaho, adding a local touch. It remains a hidden gem with quick lines and a variety of tasty options.
