“Food was excellent! From side dishes to sauces, everything tasted fresh and thought out. My only wish is that this place was bigger. We ate family style where we shared all ordered items and there was very little space on the table to accomodate 4 entrés.“
“I overall love this place. The waiter was very friendly and the service was great. The place is clean and decent. I gave 4 stars for food mainly because I wasn't too happy with my dish, I ordered a Trio Ceviche, and even though it's fresh and tasty, I expected it to be a bit more sour and slightly less salty. It's just my personal taste, I guess. But my friends were very happy with their orders, so I would recommend this place.“
“Don't be fooled by the lack of luster this restaurant has, because the food and service here 5/5. Immediately when we entered we were greeted and directed on how to order. We decided to go with the small clam chowder and three piece fish chips. We assumed the fried fish would be regular sizes. Nope, they were three big hefty thick meaty fillets, stunned! Had I known the size we would have stuck with two pieces. Overall did not regret the decision since we enjoyed the leftovers. Also their tartar sauce is ridiculously good, I dipped my fries in them as well. But the star from my experience is the service of the staff and crew. I genuinely felt so welcomed here, not rushed at all, very accommodating, your employees were friendly to me and every person they interacted with. A fine dining experience serving delicious, hot, crispy fish & chips.“
“We have been to Burma Choice several times and enjoyed the experience. There are not many Burmese restaurants in the area. So, the vibe, the decorations, and the flavors of the dishes feel different. On our most recent visit, Black Pepper Lamb was cooked just right, tender and juicy. Burma Choice Noodle (vegetarian) was flavorful. The only downside was that all the dishes were salty. And that is the reason why we don't visit this place very often. The staff were friendly but not striving for better service. Despite listing carrots, the Black Pepper Lamb came without them. When my husband asked about this, the response was a shrug and 'I don't know what the chef did.'There are many unique meat and vegetarian dishes. Be sure to order rice separately because it doesn't come with the dishes.“
“Delicious This is the best Cajun seafood In the country , All their menu is amazing and they just cook it perfectly. We come with the kids at least two times per month.their micheladas give them extra points. It is so great that we have waited a couple of times over 1 hour to get seated.Kid-friendliness: Menue for the non spicy eaters“
“Maggiano's has become our family's Easter lunch location. Lots of food, fun and excitement for everyone. The family style dining allows everyone to enjoy the family time without the cleaning and cooking. The salmon is fantastic and a must try.“
“First, no parking, second, most seating is in a covered outdoor area, 10' from the traffic on Monterey Road. 4 Stars ? In truth, I simply had the plate of fish tacos. Service was good and the Tacos, excellent. Each bite a mouth full of pleasure. I did bring home an order of fruit and shrimp which I'm still too full to face. Chips and salsa ? strange to me. Chips - Not ! 'A' store bought corn tostada - the kind in the store on the shelf in a box next o the box of pre-cooked and formed taco shells. served with a cup of warm broth. Again, strange to me. Not something I would walk across the street for. ( not worth the effort ) - The Taco on the other hand is worth special trip for. I look forward to returning to explore their huge variety of fish and seafood options. They do sell the normal variety of taqueria tacos.“
“I go here once a week after work. I just picked up some fish and shrimp about 20 minutes ago. Im happy to say it was smacking!!!! Finally someone is not afraid to season their food!!! Im glad I still have some fries left. Im knocking those out after my nap! 5 stars!!!!“
“I have been eating here for years. Very good, high quality fish and chips. Their fried veggies and mushrooms are also very good. The shop is small but very clean and cute. They have daily specials but even without, their prices are reasonable.“
“Clean, festive, and incredibly delicious! I tried the calimari the first time, a quick stop, and was impressed with the clean, lovely restaurant, the service, and the incredibly perfect appetizer. With a little more time today, I decided to try the dine-in experience... even better! The chips and delicious house salsa are accompanied by a generous portion of lime... trust me, a few drops of lime unified and elevated this simple appetizer. Care was obviously taken when choosing this combination, and the chips were hearty and flavorful; possibly stone-ground? The shrimp are fresh, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with decadent flavor. Add the excellent produce and incredible sauce and you have a can't miss experience... the lowly shrimp is elevated to VIP status here, carefully prepared and paired with incredible fresh produce carefully prepared. Hands down the best tacos camerones I have ever had. Run, don't walk, to try this cozy, beloved restaurant just off Saratoga. You will thank me, I promise you!“
“Casual hawaiian eatery located in the Maplewood Plaza. Bright space with wooden chairs and tables inside, and a few tables outside too. Employee took my order at the front counter (standard service), though there's a self-order kiosk as well. Order was ready in 5-10 minutes, no other customers at the time. Got the mini loco moco, and the meat, gravy, mac salad, everything was flavorful and satisfying... the mini size was sufficient for a filling meal. Based on taste, I'd say this would be one of my top 2 hawaiian spots in the south bay.“
“This place is cozy and very cute! They have a nice happy hour with delicious drinks. They may be a bit understaffed but they have nice service (just takes a while). I liked the drink and food options during happy hour. Seems like a fun place to get wine and live music as well.“
“My wife Irene Borz and I stopped for a quick lunch on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by the fast and attentive service, great tasty food, long list of favorite dishes.Vegetable eggroll was hot, golden and crispy, neither soggy nor burnt. The sauce had perfect balance of sweet and sour.Hot and sour soup was delicious! Be ready to order a large bowl to share, they do not serve individual cups. Mongolian beef was not what we were used to but still very tasty. Perfectly cooked General Tso's shrimps. The portions were large, we had to take almost a half of them to go.Suggestions for improvements. Get rid of annoying hip-hop music, play something calm and sophisticated, or opposite - really energetic like "Bond on Bond", or "Rasputin" by Boney M., or even Rolling Stones. A small vase with a flower on the table can significantly improve the entire feeling.“
“Nice restaurant. The menu has all the typical dishes and more. We just tried a few things on their menu, and everything was good. The wontons in the wor wonton soup was really good. There are lots of veggies in it which I like. We also had the pan-fried pork buns. Crispy bottom. The filling was just ground pork, which was good. We just ordered a couple of vegetable items. Dry string beans and eggplant in garlic sauce. Both were great. The portion size was large, which I appreciate. Lots to take home. I will be going back.“
“Excellent food, super friendly, the food is enjoyed. Waiting time if it is somewhat late; The music is very loud, if you are with someone you have to speak a little loudly. The desserts are the Flanes and choco flan 10/10 there is always room for a good dessert!!!!“
“If you are looking for a festive, gastronomic experience, I unwaveringly recommend Mariscos Costa Alegre in Alum Rock. I was weaned in Mexico, so any restaurant that takes me back to my childhood is a treasure. My friend and I went for the second time, and it was even better than the first time. Bertha was our server and guide. She made sure the we enjoyed our experience. The meal always starts with a small cup of shrimp stock. I wish they sold it by the gallon! Our appetizer was a perfect guacamole...and there was more than enough for two.My friend is always adventurous when it comes to food. This time he followed my lead and got their signature dish - Molcajete Costa Alegre. A seafood mix of head-on and peeled shrimp, crab legs, octopus, Tilapia fish filet, green mussels in chipotle cream sauce with nopal, cilantro, and jalapeños. Served with handmade tortillas. According to my friend, this dish is Michelin Star quality. While there is no doubt that the food was outstanding, the 11-piece mariachi band was over the top!!! Yes they are a little loud, but they added so much atmosphere. If you have any room for desert, I recommend that you try Mexico Bakery, just across the street.Again, my thanks to Mariscos Costa Alegre and Bertha for a wonderful evening.“
“This was a second chance for this cute little restaurant. I was craving a chili relleno and because the size varies from restaurant to restaurant- I asked for two. Holy Moly! These were huge AND delicious. Everything about the meal was great. The chips are house made and the salsa is just perfect - not too spicy and plenty of flavor. The beans- just like grandma made them! Arroz was a little 'wet' for me - I like my rice a little more dry but it did have a good flavor. The star of the show was the relleno of course. The batter, the cheese, the chili - so so good!!Well done!!“
“Came for lunch with a group. Was pleasantly in uniquely surprised for what this place has in store. When you approach the entrance it seems lackluster until you walk through the alley and it opens up into a full-on restaurant and bar. The owner's concept and design is a bit mesmerizing and makes it feel like an oasis in an urban setting. Plenty of items to pick from on the menu, it was taco Tuesday so I had to get one taco of each meat and wash it down with an agua fresca. This is a restaurant you do not want to miss out on in San Jose, great meat, great service, amicable staff. Parking can be a little rough to find but definitely worth it.“
“Great tasting tacos, enchiladas, burritos - and excellent value. Pastor, carne asada, camarones, tripas-yes, yes, yes, yes! Good, fast, friendly service. Parking can be tricky at Chevron, so park at McD's. They're only open until 5pm, so get your taco fix early.“
“We came to the area wanting to try out Dan Izakaya, but there was a long wait. We walked by this hidden gem and saw the food pictures looked delicious, so we decided to dine-in. There was not a lot of people sitting inside, but there were a lot of people getting take out. We ordered pork soup dumplings, Nanjing salted chicken, mixed fried rice and green onion pancake. It was a lot of carbs and filled us up since we were starving. The nanjing salted chicken was the highlight. There's maybe not a lot of places that do it this well. It is a lukewarm style dish and the flavor of the salt on the tender duck was delicious. The dough from the green onion pancake and XLB had a nice chewy texture, very homestyle-like. I would pass on the fried rice next time. This is a family run restaurant and very cozy vibe. It was inexpensive for the Bay Area and we just spent around $50 for the meal. Would definitely come back and try their other dishes. They have talented chefs and it is a good spot to go to or have take out, to enjoy something similar to a home-cooked meal.“
“The food is just so, so good. I've been dipping my toes into slightly fancier food recently and this is the only place Ive been where I felt like everything I ate was genuinely fantastic. Got a bunch of the dishes, and not a single bite of any of them fell flat. I'll be back.“
“Yummy lunch. Stopped by to have their famous grill fish. It was quite busy when we arrived. We got the table right away. The interior is standard. We ordered spicy and sour seafood rice noodle soup, grill fish, and chow fun with stir fry seafood and veggie. All are yummy, and the portion is generous. The vietnsmese coffee is also good. It is not too sweet. The highlight dish is the grill fish. It is for 2 people but it can feed more. Service is quick. It is good for the group. It is cash only. It has an atm machine inside.“
“My family favorite spot for sushi. As a Brazilian we loved deep fried rolls and here you can find the best ones. The special rolls are delicious.Shut outTo garlic roll, San Jose, koya roll. The chef always make rice bowls to my daughter and she loves it“
“I came here with my brother. I ordered the crawfish and got the spice level at medium. The flavors are what you'd expect from these places and I couldn't tell of the crawfish was frozen or not but I would've guessed it wasn't because the meat didn't stick to the shell. I was pleasantly surprised.“
“We went to Petiscos "Downtown" in San Jose for dinner with four adults on a Sunday night. The place is pretty, the food is good, and the people working there are friendly. Everything was good, not amazing but not bad either, just okay. The best things we ate were the house salad and the beans and olives to start with. The meatballs and grilled shrimps were good too. The drinks we had were good too. It's a nice spot to eat, and I'd say it's about a 4 out of 5.Vegetarian options: Lots of them, at least half of the menu“
“From the first bite to the last sip, Mama Lupita's delivers a five-star dining experience that keeps guests coming back time and time again. With exceptional food, welcoming service, and a vibrant atmosphere, it's a culinary destination that exceeds expectations.“
“It is a good quiet place to have a good time and eat comfortably with the family.Parking: There are several businesses around there but the restaurant is good and they serve you well, good service, you listen to music and the mariachis come there to have a good time with the family, it's very good.Kid-friendliness: For children and family it is very good“
“Ordered fried fish. Fast service. My fish took time but it was well seasoned with salad and rice. I usually pay more for less quality at other restaurants.Be back soon thank you.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu chicken nuggets and fries and fish“
“Come early to avoid long wait times. They open at 3pm and got to eat right away. Ate with 4 other people. Pretty much worth the hype. Food was good. Got shrimp, calamari, potatoes, corn. Chicken wings were ok but I wouldn't order it again. They don't serve coffee witch is what my parents wanted. But overall it's definitely a must go to place in the bay area for kids, date,or just to eat good food. Price adds up so ordering more will cost you.“
“The hubby, our daughter & I just left the crowded streets of Christmas in the park & we're going to go to Scott's Seafood for dinner but we're turned away due to not having a reservation. We ended up going to Anchor's Fish & Chips instead & all I have to say is... Thank You Scott's! The food is delicious & even my very picky 10 year old is throughly enjoying her dinner. My hubby & I both got the Prawns & chips & our daughter got the Chicken & Rice teriyaki bowl. After tasting my daughter's dish, I wish I had gotten that. The prawns are del & the fries are great. The teriyaki bowl is FULL of tender grilled chicken & fresh veggies. The place is pretty busy w/out it being "packed" & everyone seems to be fully enjoying their meals. I'm very glad we came here & can't wait to come back.“
“(Translated by Google) Excellent service, and super tasty food, I ate a return to life, super tasty and then a whole octopus, delicious.(Original)Exelente servicio, y la comida súper rica, yo comí un vuelve a la vida, súper sabroso y después un pulpo entero, riquísimo.“
“From observation, this restaurant is a typo Korean sushi restaurant serving the typical sashimi, nigiri and rolls. There's a hidden menu at the restaurant that is called ahead or reserved only. They bring in live yellow farmed halibut and octopus weekly for really fresh sashimi plates. These are whole fishes only so go with at least 3 ppl. They also carry good sake to go with the sushi.“
“Honestly a 10/10. The food price is very cheap and delicious not to mention the amount of food they give you (a lot)The people and the atmosphere were also really nice. They have one of those soda dispensers that have all the flavors of soda.Highly recommend the spicy chicken ?“
“Been here so many times I've lost count but finally decided to write review lol. We always order the small lau Thai to share if it's my husband and I. And we always order the large for hosting dinners. Broth is always consistent and flavorful - my favorite Thai hot pot in San Jose. We usually get the banh khot too if we dine in store as it comes out super crispy with a plate of veggies and dipping fish sauce. Parking can get tough here if you come during dinner time but there's street parking and the neighboring plazas“
“One of the fastest services I've ever had for food. Ordered two Carne asada tacos and a Carne asada torta and got my food within 7 minutes. Hot and delicious, goes great with their salsa Verde. They have a few vegetarian selections. Ask if they cook their food in pig fat.The location is necessarily the best, the area is a little tough but I've yet to have any problems.Good place to grab mexican food and go.“
“The BEST crawfish joint in San Jose hands down. Their sauces are flavorful, creamy, and always consistent. Kickin Crab, Clawshack, and Boiling Crab’s quality has drastically decreased over the years, leaving it pretty hard to find a decent seafood boil. Cajun Bistro never disappoints! It’s a little further from me than I’d like but it is worth the drive 100%“
“The California burrito was so large there is no way 1 or even 2 people could finish it. Super tacos were large & tasty.More food than we could eat. Had to take 3/4 of the burrito home. It was made with 2 burrito size tortillas carne aside so moist & tasty.“
“This morning I ate a bowl of vermicelli noodlesIt's a pity that I didn't take the risk to come play that night...Neighbors, neighbors!Who offered me hot vermicelli noodles? The moonlight night in the deep forestIt was the night I became your daughter-in-lawFlowers for hair are still freshBut why do I see a wilted smile? My noodle soup has no lipstick leftI've come back and forgotten the old moon..“
“Over experience was not bad. I ordered Classic three pieces fish and Chips.Taste was good but batter on fish is too thick on certain places which didn't cooked all the way and cause too much oil soked which make you very heavy.Other items were shrimp tacos, fish tacos and Shrimp kale salad.Spice was bland, most of the sauces are mild. Tartar sauce was good.Strawberry mint juice was very refreshing.Fish in tacos were little too big for the size. It need to be little smaller so one can eat easily.Overall portion size and price are very good. Kids like the fried calamari. Chimichuri fries were the best.“
“Shima Sushi has been our go-to spot for seven years, and it never fails to exceed expectations.Their "Sunrise" and "Sunset" rolls are simply the best, bursting with delicious flavors. The consistent quality, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere keep us coming back for more—this place truly feels like home!“
“Food was good, service just right, and decor was good. Had the scallop and shrimp combo with baked potato and zucchini with a Fat Tire. Pricy but worth it. Decor was good at making it look like a restaurant with 100 year history even if it is brand new. Parked in mall parking and it cost $2 since I went beyond the 2h free period.“
“We love this restaurant! My teenage daughter and I always order food from here, atleast once a month-sometimes twice a month, and it's always delicious, always consistent in taste, portion, ingredients, and freshness. And the guys and gals who work there are always pretty friendly and accommodating. We have no complaints and reccomend this food to anyone who wants delicious, consistent Italian food. Thanks Risotto's!“
“The price for small, medium, and large dim sum are the same during Monday to Friday lunch hours. Definitely the best priced and quality dim sum in the area. A lot of old people dine here. It's gets busy near holidays and service and wait time could get rough.“
“Food is usually tasty but delivered too soon. I've found that letting my server know that I'm not in a rush usually helps. We usually order the campfire deal - the crispy garlic zucchini, 2 salads, New york steak with a side, the deal is $6950% wine bottles on Wednesday.$10-$12 specialty martinis.“
“We got the combo with 2lb shrimp and 1lb clams with the house special sauce, rice, and cajun fries on the side. The price was right!! Significantly less expensive than Boiling Crab and Kickin Crab. The fries were great. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We loved the big chunky pieces of garlic in the house special sauce. We got medium spice cause I chickened out of trying the spicy level but I think next time I'll get the spicy level. The only thing I can say negatively is that they may want to cook the shrimp a bit less so that the shells don't stick when peeling. But over all, so so good!“
“Since they changed management, they seem to have more additional items on the menu. We often order cajun seafood to-go from this place. Only dine-in twice and the service was not that good and they seem to be short staff. Both times the servers seem tired and running around so it's not easy to get water or check. Even to pick up online order, at times we had to wait awhile as no one manning the cashier or the cashier couldn't handle several customers waiting to pay or pick up.The cajun seafood is fine, pretty much similar to any other cajun seafood places around here. The additional items are mostly good: fried calamari is good with generous portion, mac & cheese, cajun fries are not bad.Recently they added Vietnamese coffee & boba drinks to the bar. I tried the egg coffee and it's quite interesting. The boba drinks are so-so. Used to be able to order these drinks from their online order but now it's not there any more so not sure if they take it out of the menu or not.“
“Excellent lunch! Clean, fast, and really good food. Kung Pao Chicken comes with hot & sour soup, two wontons, and white rice. Nice proportions. Tea comes in a metal cup that keeps it hot for a very long time. $11.99 lunch makes it very affordable. Open since '99, I'll be back. Nice Job!“
“The food in this restaurant is very delicious and the portions are big.I come here to get the 7mares(7 seas) soup. It's not made the typical way many Mexican restaurants make it, but let me tell you, it's super good and delicious. The soup itself has a very distinct taste, which I like a lot. My family likes it too .They always give you some super tasty baked sourdough bread before they bring you the food.I also recommend the clam chowder . In my opinion, it's better than the one they sell in SF.I have also tried their every day specials and they really good as well. They give you a lot of food for the money you pay.The service is great and the prices are fair.I really recommend this place.“
“Chicken tostada was very good. Steal was good also. Have seafood platter tostadas. One of my favorite places to get foodVegetarian options: Has vegetarian tostada and other optionsKid-friendliness: Has a lot of space for kids to playParking: Lots of space to eatWheelchair accessibility: Can sit anywhere and a lot of spaceDietary restrictions: Also has diet options.“
“I visited this gem on a Sunday and it was busier than I anticipated so I had to wait. Not a big deal and wasn't a long time. Once inside, I was able to order right away. I Iooove mariscos and had a hard time making a choice because everything looked so delicious. I was torn between a vasiloco and Aguachiles. I ultimately decided on a Super Chavela, Aguachiles Tricolor, and a roll of sushi. I can't remember specifically what sushi roll I got because the star of the show was definitely the aguachiles!! The Chavela was ice cold and so refreshing. It did a great job of relieving the heat from the aguachiles. The aguachiles were so fresh and flavorful. I've honestly been craving more ever since and will be back soon for that vasiloco!!!“
