“We recently hosted an event at British Bankers Club with about 70 guests, and it was absolutely perfect! Initially, we were worried the space might feel too small, but it turned out to be just right. Everyone complimented the venue and how well everything came together.

We even had a photo booth set up using a local vendor, Creative Impressions Photo Booth—I highly recommend them as well! The staff at British Bankers Club truly made the night special. Our servers, Sofia and Jose, were so friendly and kept everyone happy with delicious hors d’oeuvres. Min, the bartender, served top-notch, flavorful drinks, and Sam was the ultimate jack-of-all-trades, helping wherever needed. They all worked with a smile and ensured every guest had what they needed.

A huge thank you to Nina, the event coordinator, and her assistant—they were extremely helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. Their support made everything so much easier.

I’ll admit, I was nervous leading up to the event since I had never planned a party before. But the moment I walked in, I was relieved—the venue looked beautiful! I had toured it when the restaurant was closed, so I didn’t know how it would look at night. The lit-up decorations added a wonderful touch to the room’s presentation. We added a few extras like flowers, balloons, and candles, but honestly, the space is stunning on its own.

“What a find! On our way to international SFO flight, stopped in San Mateo and were delighted by the food, ambience and especially the hosts at La Ronda. The small touches like the crisp tablecloths and napkins, the warm welcome ... and then there's the food. Warm bread served with tasty butter and jalapeno sauce followed by the calamari and lomo saltado. Topped off by arroz con leche. What a beautiful late lunch. The food was almost too beautiful to eat and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. One of our guests said it was the best spaghetti he had ever had! The mushroom risotto was perfection. I had the Chilean sea bass and WOW! The salmon was also amazing. The other two guests had roasted chicken and hangar steak… I didn’t get to try them but they looked amazing and everyone cleaned their plate even though we were full lol! We will absolutely be back. “Burma Spice is a Burmese restaurant on El Camino Real in Redwood City. It is situated in a busy strip mall, making parking tight. They have outdoor seating. The food was better than expected and service was solid. Good choice for trying Burmese food on the Peninsula.

Tea Leaf Salad ($19.99) Romaine lettuce, fried yellow beans, garlic chips, sesame & sunflower seeds, peanuts, tomatoes and jalapenos all tossed with fermented green tea leaf dressing was mixed up tableside. Nice version with good ingredients, a moderate dressing and not much spice. 9/10

Burma House Noodle ($19.99) Rice noodle with red bell peppers, onions, cabbage and egg, with crushed peanuts & lemon on the side is on the sweet side. Less noodles than expected, still an enjoyable dish. 8.5/10

“Walked in not expecting much but was greeted lovingly by a sweet family running shop by themselves. They seemed delighted that we were eating In and the small homey setting really felt like they inviting us to sit at their table. The spam masubi was incredible, served fresh, with a sweet sauce, and a little touch of pork sung in there made all the difference. I got the wagyu beef with egg meal. It also came with that signature sauce and the meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. As we left, packing up the leftovers off the heaping plates of food, the father ran out to give us some extra sauce and make sure we didn’t leave without knowing how much we were appreciated. The incredible food and the family’s hospitality truly made it feel like I was eating a home cooked meal with my grandparents and I would love to come back and support them more!“

I have chosen the medium sized bowl where I got 4 scoops of poke instead of mentioned 3, all the sizes get additional scoop as complementary. Chose couple of miso shrimp and spicy crab(it was spicy indeed) scoops. Tofu medley was not that great, tough to satisfy vegetarians or vegans. I felt the quantity was overwhelming for one person, small would be more than enough. Priced around $20 for the medium, it's on the expensive side, but the diverse selections make it recommendable. Note that it’s only a to-go restaurant.“

The food was outstanding. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the seafood pasta with lobster was top-notch, and the octopus was perfectly cooked and delicious. The filet mignon literally melted in your mouth.
The restaurant itself has beautiful decor and a wonderful Greek vibe that makes the whole experience feel special.

“A great Japanese restuarant offering halal hibachi and sushi rolls. Small but cosy ambiance.
Personally love their dinner hibachi (Steak & chicken , steak & beef both). They serve hibachi with a soup and some salad which is great stuff. The spicy tuna rolls and the Californian rolls are worth the treat. I personally feel the hibachi serving should be slightly more but I don’t mind the current serving as well.
What I did not like was yakisoba, it had very less veges. Service overall is great. Must try if you’re looking for halal Japanese good food. However, it’s a bit pricy comparatively.“

“Got a sampling if a bunch of things. Chicken was very good. Fish was good but a little under seasoned. Shrimp very good. Fries were crispy and flavorful. Mac and cheese was decent but not amazing. Collard greens were some of the best I've ever had. Banana pudding was delicious. Pecan oie was good, but hoped for amazing. Service was friendly qnd attentive. Would definitely return, many times.“
