“What a find! On our way to international SFO flight, stopped in San Mateo and were delighted by the food, ambience and especially the hosts at La Ronda. The small touches like the crisp tablecloths and napkins, the warm welcome ... and then there's the food. Warm bread served with tasty butter and jalapeno sauce followed by the calamari and lomo saltado. Topped off by arroz con leche. What a beautiful late lunch. Thank you La Ronda for a fun food experience. We will make it a point to return.“

The food was almost too beautiful to eat and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. One of our guests said it was the best spaghetti he had ever had! The mushroom risotto was perfection. I had the Chilean sea bass and WOW! The salmon was also amazing. The other two guests had roasted chicken and hangar steak… I didn’t get to try them but they looked amazing and everyone cleaned their plate even though we were full lol! We will absolutely be back. The meat was so tender and flavorful, and it came with all three salsas which were great (the spicy one is no joke though). The phone orders cut out a lot and it can be a bit hard if you don't speak Spanish, but just try to speak clearly and it will be fine. Really freaking good stuff for the price point.“

Whole chicken slow-smoked for 12 hours. Meat falls off the bone, smoky but not overwhelming. Eat it cold or dip in hot soup – pure heaven. Owner says “finish the chicken, then knock back two shots of baijiu”… I obeyed 😂

“I'm not a huge fan of seafood boils but this place was recommended by several people with good taste. Made an online reservation for 2 on a Friday for 7 pm and was seated immediately, but they weren't busy, possibly because it was a rainy day. It is an order through your server type of AYCE, but you can order a la carte as well. We opted for the AYCE option, which was $40 before tax and mandatory 18% tip. Mon-Thurs it is $36 before tax and tip, and also includes 1 drink per person (soft drink or beer).

We tried most of the menu without any add ons. All of the seafood boils were fresh and good quality. Shrimps were huge. 2 rounds of snow crab, mussels, clams, head on shrimp, and 1 round of frozen crawfish. We tried the cajun sauce, ultimate sauce, and super ultimate sauce. We didn't notice a big difference between them, but they weren't overly salty and all had lots of garlic. The spicy level was perfect for us.

Appetizers and wok items were surprisingly good as well. They all came out hot and fresh. The curry snow crab fried rice was a huge portion for like 3-4 people. They were able to accommodate no salt added, but could not do a small portion. White rice was a normal 1 person size. Lemon pepper wings were very juicy and flavorful, spicy mayo shrimp were plump and good, fried fish were great and very tender, fried oysters were good but batter was thick, crab chowder was decent, and sweet buns were good and had a nice crispy outside but a bit doughy inside.

Service was pretty good. The mandatory 18% seemed fair. Orders were accurate and food came out in a timely manner. Very clean and spacious restaurant. They have their own parking lot but it's small“

“My sister and I came here yesterday to celebrate our birthday lunch and had such a lovely experience. Our server, a very kind older gentleman, was incredibly attentive and kept checking in on us. He was also so accommodating with my 12 month old baby.

The food was excellent! the butter chicken was very tasty and tender, the fish pakora was delicious and baby approved!, the rogan josh lamb was full of flavor, and the garlic naan was so fresh. At the end of our meal he even surprised us with complimentary gulab jamuns for our birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch.

“Fresh authentic Cantonese food. Always come back to here when we crave BBQ pork, porridge, traditional Cantonese rice dishes. Affordable, but that would mean service would take some time. I would call at least 45 minutes in advance to order takeout because it can get busy sometimes. They have fresh fish on the menu even, and weekday specials like pineapple buns.
Great spot for gluten free and dairy free options with all the porridge and rice dishes.“
