“Great poke near SFO! About $20 for a huge bowl with 5 kinds of sashimi — perfect for anyone trying to eat light but stay full. I picked tuna, salmon, octopus, scallops, and another fish, with brown rice, veggies, and spicy mayo. Super fresh and filling until the end of the workday.

Ordering is easy — you just check boxes on the menu, no need for much talking (introvert-friendly ✅). The place is clean and casual, great for a quick healthy lunch.

“I came in on (9/1) right before 7 pm with 3 of my friends. It seemed a little busy for a monday…well, it’s labor day. Our server, Betty (i think) made sure to keep bringing us fresh biscuits while we waited on our food. Betty was exceptionally sweet. I think we were her last table but she went out of her way to be nice to us. One of my friends had a togo order and she waited to make sure the burger got to us before she left her shift. she was so genuinely gracious, pleasant and accommodating We all hope she is working the next time we are in. she’s a great server.❤️ we’re already planning our next trip“

“Anchor Oyster Bar is worth the wait. Be prepared though, the line can be quite long, especially during lunch and on weekends, since it’s a small restaurant and they don’t have many tables.

I ordered the 12 oysters on the half shell, and they were very fresh, clean tasting, and served ice cold.

The Boston clam chowder was excellent, thick, creamy, and loaded with clams without being overly salty. It’s a must-order.

“Anchored in the bay, all the way from Puget sound and a dinghy ride in for food. Walked around and quickly realized this was the busiest spot in town. Cold beverages outside made the wait alright. The "award winning" fish and chips were great! Calamari too. Great food, generous portions & good view of our boats. Staff was fun too. Cheers!“

“Haven’t been in years and boy howdy! It’s upgraded and then some. It’s not as divey as it used to be, but what’s here now is pretty cool! More places to hang (upstairs and down) with more views. The menu is expanded but still simple, good cocktails. The food has definitely improved a couple of levels and the prices are great for what you get. Highly recommend the calamari appetizer, lamb tenderloin, and gnocchietti. Lamb tenderloin was perfectly cooked! The gelato flavors were extremely unique (goat cheese and fig, and rum raisin). Food: Most of the foods are grilled or fried. All of them are tasty and fresh. Many fish choices, sauces, and sites to choose from. My favorite sauces are garlic butter and Cajun. The fish and chips are very good with tartar sauce. The grilled sea bass fish are very flavorful and would recommend having sauce on the side.

Price: very reasonable price for portions of food.“

“I really enjoyed my meal there last night. Ordered the vegan combo with the gluten-free teff injeera. The only thing I had to send back were the side order of mushrooms. I requested little or no oil and the dish was drowning in oil. They took it back, no problem and removed the item from my bill. I will go back!“

The place looks run down and not as clean. But the food tasted good and thoroughly cooked. The owner is nice. We came at the busy time we had to wait about 15-20minutes which is not bad.“

I was the only person eating inside as everyone sat outside. I think that’s because the interior ambience is pretty much fish market. I think they could turn this spot into a really popular oyster and crudo bar with just a little bit of redesign to the front of the house.
