“Some of the best California-omakaze style I’ve had. The fish quality is absolutely top notch. Some of the more creative “California” dishes are fantastic and some are a bit of a miss.

On one of my visits here there was a strong soapy detergent smell throughout the restaurant. This put a real damper on the experience.”

The salmon came with roasted vegetables, which I really appreciated since I don’t eat salads. The only thing I wish they offered was a gluten-free rice option without the orzo.

The service was wonderful—everyone who took care of us was incredibly friendly and nice. It was a hot evening, and our server was highly attentive, constantly refilling our water without us ever having to ask.”

The cesar salad was dressed to perfection served on a chilled plate w/shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano.. Delish! My short rib ravioli special was exactly what I was hoping for. Hand made in house pasta baked to perfection. My wife had the sacchettto vegi pasta pocket stuffed w/vegis . The red sauce had tremendous flavor... and perfect to mop up with the bread. 🤪... This place is a must try!”

“So many creative and yummy options! We were lucky and able to get a same day reservation at 5:15 pm on a Friday.

Service is impeccable and it looked like there was more staff than tables when we arrived but over the course of dinner, as the rest filled up, it made more sense.

We loved the custard appetizer. So smooth with great textures and flavors from the potato, fish roe and everything else in the bowl.

The lasagna was very unexpected yet delicious with layers and ground meat.

The pawns had great flavor and we liked the sausages and tomatoes it came with. I also love that the bodies were de-shelled as already.

The cold noodle was very interesting with the foam. It's a very mild flavor so this dish is more about the presentation and textures.

The scallops were fresh but not that interesting. I love Hokkaido scallops but I prefer them raw. This cook was good, just not that interesting.

The spicy hot tofu soup was fine. It didn't feel different or elevated from what I've had at other places and a touch too salty for our tastes.

There's plenty to try on the menu and would have loved to try the kalbi but our bill was quite pricey already.

I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try, it's a great treat and dining experience.”

“I recently started coming back again as they started their wine bar program. Food is always authentic and amazing but happy that they started opening later offering great wines for their wine bar. The owner even came by to offer some amazing wines! One of the few places that is open late in Menlo to hang out in.”

“Drunken Monk is one of my favorite Japanese spots, especially for their oyako don. It’s the dish I keep going back for, but I’ve also tried quite a few other items on the menu and have enjoyed the variety.

The space has a cozy, casual izakaya feel, making it a nice place for a relaxed dinner or date night. It’s not exactly a cheap eat, but the food feels fresh and thoughtfully prepared, so it’s a good spot when you want something a little nicer without being too formal.

The corn karaage is also amazing and definitely worth ordering. Crispy, sweet, and so easy to snack on. I’ve also tried dishes like their sashimi, mini uni don with ikura, grilled skewers, and clam dish, and everything has been comforting and well done.”

“Paper dosa is crispy and delicious. Order the saag paneer, goat curry, chicken biryani. If you're not into spicy hot food. Ask for mild spice only. Mango Lassi drink is not too sweet. Just right for spicy food.”

“Hand-pulled pan-fried noodles is one of my favorite dishes. I get it at every restaurant that sells it. This restaurant had the best version of that dish I have ever had, by a considerable margin. I have never written a google restaurant review before, but the food was so good that it motivated me to write one.

It was like every ingredient was the best version of that ingredient and all the ingredients were all put together into one symphony of flavor. I was reminded of the first time I heard the Beatles.”

“BBC is our go to for a casual dinner out; food is reliably good and service at the bar is great. Great selection of drinks and snacks in addition to a thoughtfully-designed dinner menu. It's not really a secret though; the entire patio was booked up for what looked like a banker dinner on our recent visit.”

“Highly recommend Jason Cafe! Our family stayed in the neighborhood for a week and ate here four out of our seven days. The service is super fast but never feels impatient, orders always 100% correct, hot, and delicious! Hands down the best waffles I’ve ever had, but everything is good. Servers are amazing, efficient, and friendly. They were really nice to my child who has Tourette Syndrome, never made him feel weird. Also the place is super clean—nothing is sticky or needs to be wiped down—they keep it immaculate.”

I would dine in there more often, but there is no table service and I like table service. I don’t like to go up and order from my counter.
And take a number and then you have to go get your food and take care of all your little condiments and everything that you might want. It takes away the joy of eating out. It’s too bad they don’t consider having later service at the tables. I’m sure everybody would be much happier. I hear people complaining about it while they’re dining.

First time diner, long time consumer. I made a rookie mistake while ordering the vegetarian sandwich on sourdough. French or dutch crunch roll is recommended. Said I was open to suggestions. Then we added avocado, fresh jalapeno, tapatio, and a side of fries.

I ate half the fries and the smaller cut of the sandwich. I'm excited to be hungry again in about two hours.”

I highly recommend this place as the best taco in the Menlo Park Palo Alto area.”

“This was my first time ever going to this particular Phill's coffee shop and I didn't know if you downloaded the app you got a free upgrade!! Which was perfect because I was getting a coffee for my aunt who is the grandmother of a four year-old and a one year-old!! She definitely needed an iced mocha to help her out and give her the extra push through the afternoon of watching/raising her own grandchildren!!

As I ordered from the barista, I wanted to initially get the tiramisu latte, but I was worried it was going to be too sweet for my aunt. Since there's so many different combos of drinks and coffee roast at Phill's that you can make up your own drink within their guidelines, I didn't know I could order a simple iced mocha! Lol. The barista that helped me was very understanding and helpful so I just ended up getting an irregular iced mocha!!

I got a free upgrade with the app and I was very impressed!! I also loved the little bakery outside to the left of this particular Phill's coffee shop! I was able to get my niece a little oatmeal cookie and check out my review on Blue Sky bakery!! Hee”

“Cakes are premium here. You can taste the quality in the ingredients. My colleagues all agreed that the matcha cake and was so good. You can taste the real whip cream. Cakes are not too sweet. Will be back again.”
