“Some of the best California-omakaze style I’ve had. The fish quality is absolutely top notch. Some of the more creative “California” dishes are fantastic and some are a bit of a miss.

On one of my visits here there was a strong soapy detergent smell throughout the restaurant. This put a real damper on the experience.”

“Food was fantastic! Covid has hit all restaurants hard and La Stanza was new to Menlo Park opening in January 2020. The owner / chef has his Italian cuisine dialed. The cesar salad was dressed to perfection served on a chilled plate w/shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano.. Delish! My short rib ravioli special was exactly what I was hoping for. Hand made in house pasta baked to perfection. My wife had the sacchettto vegi pasta pocket stuffed w/vegis . The red sauce had tremendous flavor... and perfect to mop up with the bread. 🤪... This place is a must try!”

The service was fantastic, Jorge was so warm and lovely, and the food was really flavorful and delicious. I had the shrimp tacos that were spicy and full of flavor and had three jumbo shrimp in each taco. The tortillas were also clearly a labor of love. Their kids menu is outstanding and my little one loved the beef tacos. To top it off,
I had their smoky old-fashioned that was unique and thoroughly enjoyed and we finished with the churros- delicious! We will be back.”

Overall a great family friendly experience. Also a lovely date night or special dinner spot to be enjoyed with friends. Inside is beautifully decorated and provides a warm and inviting ambiance, and outdoor seating is kept warm by outdoor heaters.”

“So many creative and yummy options! We were lucky and able to get a same day reservation at 5:15 pm on a Friday.

Service is impeccable and it looked like there was more staff than tables when we arrived but over the course of dinner, as the rest filled up, it made more sense.

We loved the custard appetizer. So smooth with great textures and flavors from the potato, fish roe and everything else in the bowl.

The lasagna was very unexpected yet delicious with layers and ground meat.

The pawns had great flavor and we liked the sausages and tomatoes it came with. I also love that the bodies were de-shelled as already.

The cold noodle was very interesting with the foam. It's a very mild flavor so this dish is more about the presentation and textures.

The scallops were fresh but not that interesting. I love Hokkaido scallops but I prefer them raw. This cook was good, just not that interesting.

The spicy hot tofu soup was fine. It didn't feel different or elevated from what I've had at other places and a touch too salty for our tastes.

There's plenty to try on the menu and would have loved to try the kalbi but our bill was quite pricey already.

I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try, it's a great treat and dining experience.”

My spice tolerance is low and while I would say the spice level tested my limits, it was balanced wonderfuly with the other "cooling" flavors like mint, yogurt and fruit. The cocktials menu is a tasteful fusion of classic cocktails with an Indian "flare". To top it all off the service was outstanding. 5+ stars”

“Drunken Monk is one of my favorite Japanese spots, especially for their oyako don. It’s the dish I keep going back for, but I’ve also tried quite a few other items on the menu and have enjoyed the variety.

The space has a cozy, casual izakaya feel, making it a nice place for a relaxed dinner or date night. It’s not exactly a cheap eat, but the food feels fresh and thoughtfully prepared, so it’s a good spot when you want something a little nicer without being too formal.

The corn karaage is also amazing and definitely worth ordering. Crispy, sweet, and so easy to snack on. I’ve also tried dishes like their sashimi, mini uni don with ikura, grilled skewers, and clam dish, and everything has been comforting and well done.”

First time diner, long time consumer. I made a rookie mistake while ordering the vegetarian sandwich on sourdough. French or dutch crunch roll is recommended. Said I was open to suggestions. Then we added avocado, fresh jalapeno, tapatio, and a side of fries.

I ate half the fries and the smaller cut of the sandwich. I'm excited to be hungry again in about two hours.”

As I ordered from the barista, I wanted to initially get the tiramisu latte, but I was worried it was going to be too sweet for my aunt. Since there's so many different combos of drinks and coffee roast at Phill's that you can make up your own drink within their guidelines, I didn't know I could order a simple iced mocha! Lol. The barista that helped me was very understanding and helpful so I just ended up getting an irregular iced mocha!!

I got a free upgrade with the app and I was very impressed!! I also loved the little bakery outside to the left of this particular Phill's coffee shop! I was able to get my niece a little oatmeal cookie and check out my review on Blue Sky bakery!! Hee”

“Standard McDonald's location with friendly staff and located in downtown Menlo Park which is good for anyone working in the area or anyone looking to grab some of their iconic menu offerings. The parking lot is simple and easy, and I never had a problem with finding a spot.”
