Hirotaka Sushi is a restaurant in Menlo Park, CA. It is like a local place with regulars. The staff were extremely accommodating and thoughtful, providing quick and attentive service. One family came for a Friday evening meal and found the food delicious. The staff surprised a 6 year old daughter with a treat and candle for her birthday. Another visit on a weekday at around 4 were welcomed right away. A party of 5 had no table but they immediately combined two tables. A nice young man reminded them it was happy hours. The food was great and fresh. The sushi rice was flavorful and thin layer. Tempura was the best. Takeout was ordered on DoorDash and the sushi quality really surprised. The Stanford roll had a nice mix of spicy tuna, crab, avocado, hamachi, with the sauces tying everything together really well. The Nigiri combo had 9 pieces of chef’s choice fish and a lot of them were fish belly cuts which are fattyyyyy and melt in your mouth. The Hamachi lover has hamachi, avocado and then hamachi on top. The Super salmon roll was the most favorite, especially the torched salmon and tobiko on top. The sushi was seriously amazing. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The edamame appetizer also tasted so fresh. The service felt very comfortable too, friendly and attentive without being too much. They have their own parking spots.
