“Local place, offers indoor and patio seating, pet friendly. You order at the counter and then (after being called) bring drinks and food to your table. Offer variety of burgers, pizzas, pastas and sandwiches. Some good finger food too. Good selection of beers. Wine a bit limited to two whites (Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio ) and three reds. Wines are average. Prices are decent and we had a good time. Got Grand Canyon Burger and enjoyed it. Chili cheese fries and onion rings where a good choice as shared starters.”

“My family went on a Tuesday night so the place was pretty much empty. We sat outside since it was a nice evening. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was good and I had the scallops as an entree which was also good. Service was a bit slow for a nearly empty restaurant but other than that a nice experience.”

“Real Italian biscotti and everything in this quaint old store is delicious. I've shopped there for many years. Its a wonderful family with traditional Italian recipes anyone would be fortunate to taste. Visiting the stores is different than any other. Mary Ann Murphy”

“This is a cash only place with an ATM that has fees out the wazoo. The food is really good, and they have habanero salsa that will make you sweat with joy. Make sure you apply it to everything! Even the Mexican Coke!!Vegetarian options: Vegan food!”

“Came here last minute for dinner on a Sunday night and was pleasantly surprised. All the dishes were well presented and delicious. The place had a good ambience, but not over packed. Ordered the mousaka and it was different from what I remember in other Greek restaurants. The taste was nice, with many veggies but it definitely wasn't heavy like I remembered from other restaurants in the past.”

“I come here often with my son and you know it's the usual frozen yogurt store as many others out there but I will give this place 5 stars because of this super sweet employee which went above and beyond for me. The new POS they have doesn't support Samsung or Google pay. I had forgotten my wallet home and being that I couldn't use the e-pay option we ended up in quite the predicament. I had $5 credit, so the employee said I could get my son's yogurt for free but not mine. You know I didn't ask for a freebie, but it was kind of a situation in which he would've thrown the yogurt away just because I couldn't use the e-pay option. It was the end of his shift, so the next employee took over. By that time I was sitting down with my son so he could eat his yogurt when she comes to me and hands me the yogurt saying: "here you go I paid for it for you."She totally made my whole day, I have hope in our young generation. So yes I will give this place 5 stars ? because of her, not the previous guy and because I don't know how else to thank her. ??”

“The best place on the peninsula to get coffee beans. The owner and workers are always friendly, the beans are roasted fresh on a daily basis, and the prices are fair. They also have a coffee/espresso bar where you can get a cup of coffee or latte while you shop.Support this local business rather than buying overpriced stale beans at the grocery store! The Middlefield road construction has definitely impacted their business, so give them your support and patronage!Freshest, most delicious coffee beans in town!”

“Organized a dinner for 16 in their "Gaja Room" for a special occasion. “My second time here, this time in a larger group. We were running late so called and they had no trouble moving the time by 30 min. Got seated promptly on arrival. Quick, efficient service. Large menu, with most traditional items available (and some creative ones, but we did not try any this time). Food satisfies the taste buds and cravings, but is a bit on the heavier side - it did not help that we got Butter Chicken and Dal Makhnai, but even the Poriyal and Bhindi were quite oily (very tasty though!). Breads were nice and crisp, as I like them, but if you want yours softer, ask for it up front. Roomali Roti was a good surprise, made well. For dessert, we got the Kulfi (good enough that we ordered one more) and Gajar Halwa (surprisingly crisp & brown, not the usual soft pink texture). Did not try any drinks or apps this time so overall check felt very reasonable - even after they added an automatic 20% gratuity for large party.”

“I discovered this place a while back anan I was going back and forth to Stanford. I always like to get food in the Bay Area that I can't find where I live. I stumbled across this place in my search, and OMG, I am so glad I did. The food is just amazing. So rich and wonderful ingredients. You can tell that everything is made with love. And the owner is so welcoming. The last time I was there, it had been almost a year since I'd been in, and he still remembered me! It's just a really nice place to go.I always bring home extra.Favorites: Oxtail, goat curry, and plantains.”

“This is a nice small Mexican food place with great food. There was one extremely kind lady that helped order and brought our food to us and she was the sweetest person. The food was really good and very reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this spot.”

“Small but clean indoor dining area but I usually enjoy their outdoor seating. Service is always with a smile. My only experience with their Mexico City family's mamalones but it's so good that I always order it. The horchata is so tasty that I think it may be housemade.”

“I came here with a group of girlfriends for some wine. We were warmly greeted by the owner, John's he was very knowledgeable about the wines and made sure we each got the wine that was best suited to each of our pallets. I appreciated the time John took to explain all the wines as well as the time he took to a see our questions. We ordered a charcuterie board which was beautiful! He made sure my gluten free friend was also well taken care of. The food was amazing! I'm looking forward to coming back here to try other items in the menu, all of which sounded amazing!”

“Authentic as it gets, very high quality ingredients and a caring staff. Go for the pork chile verde or carnitas, and don’t miss their soups if they have it! Outstanding caldo de rez, pollo, albondigas, and pozole. Highly recommend.”

“To be honest with you guys, never heard of this place, but a friend of ours stopped in recommended it, and we thought we'd give it a shot. I'm saying this with full confidence, but this is the best pizza I've had at a reasonable price in a very long time. If you're looking for the best pizza in Redwood City you found it here. The toppings were fresh. Perfect amount of cheese in the crust. Had a nice crunch to it. The service was awesome”
Options
“Their cocktails are always interesting and the pork bun appetizer is worth detouring for.The rest of the food was well executed too.Our waiter seemed to have tables both inside and outside which made him harder to get ahold of, but otherwise no complaints!Expect to pay peninsula prices though.”

“If I lived on the west coast I'd keep coming back. Super fresh ingredients, with friendly service. A little pricey, but IMO worth it. I had the Uncle Louie on recommendation, and it rivals a great East Coast sandwich or NOLA muffaleto. As noted this is for takeout mostly. I had no problems parking nearby, although I wasn't there during rush.”

“We had a great dinner with old friends and it was quiet enough to actually hear each other! Beautiful spot by the water, great service, and the food was quite good. I had the teriyaki skirt steak which was perfectly done and delicious. My husband's halibut was good as well. The bread and Mediterranean platter were just ok but the Fritto Misty was good. If you want to go to a really crowded, noisy, popular place, this isn't it. But it's busy enough, the food is decent, the service is great, and the ambiance is really nice. I'd definitely go back.”

“First time eating here even though we live close by for a long time. Food and service was very good. It's a little expensive but we'll definitely come back to have breakfast.”

“We just moved back from Texas to California and this was our favorite ramen in Frisco. Of course it originated from the Bay Area! Love this spot — the food is fresh and the vibe is hip. You can add yourself to the waitlist from Google or Yelp so your table is ready when you arrive. We ordered the Hakata Kontoksu (Pork Broth) and it was fabulous. You can order different spice levels, which works great for our family. We also had edamame and a draft Sapporo. The service is quick and the waiters are all friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very clean too. I love that the kitchen is open and you can watch the food magic happening there. They have other locations in the Bay too. I highly recommend you try them if you are near one!”

“A Redwood City staple. Love bringing my business meetings here. They have great outdoor seating on a pedestrian street, good enough Wi-Fi, and a great selection of both desert and actual food. Soups, salads, sandwiches, breakfast. You name it. Friendly staff and a great place to hang out for a few hours. Not to mention easy parking in the Jefferson Street garage directly below.”

“It's a nice Irish pub. It's quite large, has a good selection of beers and wider selection of whiskey. I really enjoy their chicken strips and house fries. My husband swears by their chicken curry.”

“Highly recommend these locked and loaded flavorful Argentina empanadas.Luckily, my work hosted a lunch to showcase LatinX month so I had the opportunity to try this place.I must say everything was really good. I tried these empanadas:Championes (FAV)Prosciutto (another fav lol)Carne Sauve Meat - spicy!!Pollo SaltadoOn another note, the chimichurri sauce was good, and their salad was so fresh. For dessert, the Alfajores is an absolute must! Thank you work for expanding my palate Lolol :)”

“An amazing introduction to Kaiseki dinners in the Bay Area. Couldn't have asked for a better birthday celebration. :)Ranzan is a Kaiseki style dinner with a few different options for the amount of food / premium options. We ended up opting for Kibune option which was their 2nd tier out of 4. It was super delicious although we did struggle to get to the finish line because our stomachs weren't ready for the amount of food we were getting. XDSome of our favorite dishes from our particular menu included:*Wagyu sirloin steak with Japanese sansho pepper: So good. Perfectly cooked. Melted in our mouths.*Corn tofu: Just a personal preference but I really, really dug this clever play on classic tofu. Loved the texture and thought it tasted amazing.*Squash soup: This was their play on the traditional miso - loved it (and love all things squash in general).*Unagi donburi: Perfect portion (this was one of the later dishes, so my +1 and I were struggling a bit at this point) and super delicious. The unagi was so flavorful with a lovely slightly sweet sauce and breadcrumb like balls.*Yes, there were a couple dishes we weren't as fond of, but still loved the way they were presented and the ideas behind them!*The pacing of the food does come out at a pretty even cadence with service being so on point.. My +1 and I got deep into our talks and sometimes fell a little behind with some of the dishes overlapping as we were still chatting but we were usually able to catch up!*The presentation was amazing and super deliberate. Loved the little touches and appreciated too the small birthday surprises at the end. Super cute.*As some other have noted, at least as of August 2023, the restaurant returns your deposit directly to you.*The ambiance of Ranzan is so soothing and relaxing. Easy to have conversations. Super minimalist. Also, I took a rideshare getting to the restaurant so didn't notice parking as much, but my +1 did park a couple blocks away.Cheers to the kind staff / servers! Super lovely and memorable.”

“We ordered Omakase and the fish was really good. Fresh, well prepared although a little smaller in size. We reserved a table yet was assigned a sushi bar counter which worked out well for us. The service was a bit disorganized as we were served some appetizers that we didn't order. That's why a 4 star rating. The restaurant was busy till 8:30 pm on Friday.”

“What a great place for dinner! The food was outstanding: we always order their ceviche trio and it never disappoints. So fresh and tasty with 3 versions in one order, something for everyone at the table. My favorite dish is the conchinita pibil which is just amazing, juicy and flavorful. You can have it as an entree or in tacos and it was great again. My companions loved their dishes as well. We all got their Mexican hot chocolate as well as dessert and it was a great way to end the meal. The service was fantastic and I can't wait to go back!”

“I haven't been to the restaurant but I've ordered from them through Doordash. I've ordered their shrimp skewers and mixed plate. Overall, the quality of the food was really yummy and seasoned. It is a little pricey and I wish they gave more with their meals but worth it if you want high quality dishes.”

“Our first time having breakfast here. Food was very good, and our server was friendly and attentive. Above average Bloody Mary's. Pretty quiet, feels like the word hasn't gotten out yet they are doing breakfast on the weekends.”

“This review is for the young man who works the drive thru on Sunday mornings/lunches. After swim class, my son sometimes asks for curly fries and an Oreo shake, and the gentleman who works the drive thru is always so polite and kind, even when he's slammed. “Incredible spot for any level boba enthusiast. One of the most beginner friendly tea shops and cheapest in price. I have tried about 90% of their menu (it took about 3 months with their giant menu) and can say that YOU get what YOU ORDERED!!! I love mixing topings and tea flavors and this is an amazing spot to do so.Complaints (Personal): because he calls the name of the drink without topings, people can get confused but some people still go and check out if it's theirs even if that was nothing related to what they ordered.Service: In terms of service the man who runs the place is always enlighten to make your tea, does everything almost flawlessly and goes in the order of who was first. Fairly quick to make them too. If he makes a mistake he will fix it.”

“What a joy! A friend of mine recommended this place, and finally, my kid and I tried it for lunch. This place is simply amazing. We had gorditas, fish tacos, and something else I can't remember anymore. I had a mezcal with hibiscus cocktail. My kid had mango water. Everything was so ply amazing. This is now my favorite sit-in mexican, and of the favorites of any category, restaurants in the area. Simply beautiful experience. Check out the mezcal and tequila selection. It's at the same level as the quality of food. Love. Oh, and the service is spot on. Highly recommend.”

“Authentic Nepalese food! Vegetable pakora perfectly crisp. Momo's very flavorful and delicious, and the fried rice cooked perfectly. My only reservation was the lentil soup. It was lacking in flavor and salt, but everything else was great!”

“A cute lil taqueria with minimal seating but with very distinctive and easily recognized exterior. The worker was on feet, courteous and joyful. It's always a good sight to hear a kitchen full of cheerful coworkers at a restaurant ???I got the Torta Cubana and I have to say half of one is so filling (and I have a big appetite). I would say "inflation where?" after one bite because every bite was so decadently filled with well seasoned sausages, meat, peppers and onions. The hibiscus agua de fresca is amazing too!Overall, would come back!”

“Go for the handmade tortillas; stay for the staff and the atmosphere. Front counter dude was efficient and super friendly. Tried the lengua, chorizo, and carnitas tacos. Everything tasted pretty good though. The handmade tortillas fell apart a little bit, but no complaint really. Eager to try ”

“5 stars all the way. If I could give the service 10 stars, I would! The salsa was perfecto! Great kick to it while maintaining exceptional flavor. Had breakfast burrito at 7pm (a MUST for me). Chorizo was perfect, not too greasy or 'underdone'. In fact on the over cooked side, which I prefer. That way the egg doesn't make it even more mushy when combined. (My husband had eaten half my burrito before I could even take this picture, what does that tell you??) He ordered the taco plate and from first glance to last bite it was perfect. The customer service was what really set this place apart. I was given a sample of their horchata without even asking. The lady simply offered after over hearing me asking my husband about it. She was gracious and informative and patient! (I'm not THAT much of a pain in the butt, but my first time anywhere I tend to ask questions)Thanks for a perfect dinner!”

“I have grown up with exposure to sushi from a young age. What's important is the quality of the fish and the selection. Akami has gone above and beyond in every feature as well as impeccable customer service. The chef puts thought and care into every dish I've eaten. I value being able to come back to a place I enjoy - rather than just being there to eat. I enjoy the creation process for each plate. I highly encourage both novice and and advanced sushi eaters to make this a part of their sushi restaurant portfolio.”

“As vegans this is our to go spot for sushi take outs! Lots of plant based options, almost all of them worth trying! ? If you like spicy food - add a ‘spicy in and out’ option to your roll to make it literally perfect!Edit: we recently went to Shizen - well known vegan sushi restaurant in San Francisco and honestly we didn’t like almost any of their rolls (tried 4 and some appetizers), so this is still our favorite spot. ”

“Look, you can't go wrong here. There may be burgers that are bigger, there are some that are better put together, there are some that might last longer, for instance it won't be cold when you get home, but there are no other burger joints that have this flavor profile. Make sure that you eat the fries immediately. They will not be good when you get home, but who cares? You're hungry. Sit down, take a minute, order it animal style. If you don't know what that means, then I can't help you. Open your mind and your horizons. These burgers are perfect in their simplicity in the same way a beautiful sentence can be succinct and concise.”

“Been here twice now, the fries have been solid both times so always get those. We've tried the Chicago, Italian, and Kraut dogs, and the cheesesteak sandwich.Chicago dog is the best of the 3. Cheese steak is a good size. I wish they toasted their buns, everything was soft but I like crispy edges. Their milkshakes tastes like it's made from real ice cream and apple pie slices are large! The pie was cold so I don't recommend if you're craving hot apple pie right away. Luckily I live near by and we were able to reheat the pie and enjoy it at home”

“This is the best Mexican food in the Bay Area hands down. The quality of the meat, the tortillas and the sauce were amazing. The hot sauce is probably the best I've had as it's a secret homemade recipe. Go here, you won't regret it!”

“Food is good, but they've instituted this new system where you have to order at a kiosk, and it's awkward, inconvenient, and slow. I don't know why they did it, but it's annoying as hell. There are no employees at the counter anymore.”

“I went to this location twice last week and if I wanted to count the other visits I did last month, I probably went there a good six times. I usually go to order a soda and lately for breakfast is when I have been going. I like ordering a biscuit with cheese, sometimes I order a spicy chicken biscuit or the chicken minis. I am not one to go to fast food restaurants often but because I have been using the app for my recent orders, I'm finding that I'm eligible for free items because of the points I have acquired and then they have this " secret breakfast Wednesday." Not sure exactly what they name is but it's something like that. All that has contributed to me going there more often. The food has always been good and the service is great. Chick -fil- A is my favorite fast food place as I don't do many fast food joints. Kudos to the team at the Redwood City location, whenever I have gone I get good service. This restaurant is in a busy location as it could actually back up a lane on Whipple at times. The parking lot is small so I would never eat inside because if I park it would be hard to get out if there is a line of cars going through the drive-thru or mobile order lane. I worry that I would have a hard time because of that. This location seems more conducive for drive-thru or mobile lane pick up for that reason. Because I have never gone inside, which is rare for me not to ever go inside a restaurant I frequent often, I can't speak about the ambiance. But where it is situated, is not very ideal. I can say that when I have gone through the drive-thru or have ordered via the mobile app I haven't had any issues and my food has always been good and the team members have all been very polite and helpful. Also it's been nice getting items I could redeem and getting points I can redeem.”

“Is this the best Jack in the Box in the country? The fries are always fresh, and the sandwiches look like they come out of an ad. The workers have always been very friendly with me as well. The only thing they need to fix is convince corporate to fix the app which somehow gets slower and worse with every redesign.”

“HOPING THE OWNER OR MANAGEMENT WILL READ THIS! We tried the plant based Beyond chicken nuggets last week and it was delicious! My wife and daughter are vegan so imagine how happy I was when we learned that KFC now has plant based chicken. However, we were sadly disappointed to learn that Beyond nuggets are cooked in the same fryer as real chicken, which means my daughter and wife cannot eat them. I know that KFC corporate policy states this clearly as well. However, I'm wondering if there's ANY way this local neighborhood KFC could cook Beyond nuggets in a separate fryer so my family can continue to eat them. PLEASE!! We are tied to a HUGE vegan community in the local area. If we spread the word, local vegans will flock to this location. Feel free to DM me.”

“Great local dive bar with an awesome staff. I live a few blocks away and many a night I'll walk the dog over grab a beer and meet Neighbors from all walks of life.”
“Fun local bar for karaoke & pool! They had a fire a few years back and renovated the bar, so it has a modern fresh feel to it but still a lot of character.Sometimes it can be intimidating walking into a local dive bar, but everyone at Sodini's (bartenders and customers alike) are always friendly and welcoming. It gets very lively on weekend nights for karaoke, so come ready to sing! Drink prices are reasonable, just wish they had some beers on tap, everything is bottled.”
“My team had a two-day team meeting at the Regus conference on the 6th floor. I had last minute catering order for 20 people, and they came to the rescue with no hesitation. The team was happy with the service and food. I'll definitely order from them again.”

“There's always room for ice cream for some folks even after dinner!!! We finished Indian food & the guys wanted gelato so we walked a few doors down & got some scoops in this quaint shop. Got Piatachio, Chocolate & Hazelnut. I really wanted to try the Passionfruit Sorbetto but I'd have insomnia & give or take a pound or two of weight after so I saved it for another day! Guys liked it & was a nice ending for the bday celebrant & friends in the 70°+ cooler weather!!”

“Wish I had photos to share, but food is too good to wait and take a snap of it. My husband and I visit this spot very often. They seriously have the best authentic Mexican food I have tried in the bay area. I have a restaurant myself and come from Mexico. The service is exceptional. Fresh handmade tortillas and dishes. Amazing fresh squeeze OJ and Aguas frescas. This is NOT a taco shop but your go spot for authentic dishes. Anything you try is great, especially the birria and menudo.”

“I came here with my cousins after furniture shopping. I heard about this place from my friend and it's actually located at the end of the street and parking was ok. We only got a few items but we made sure to get the lamb dumplings. We also got the shanghai dumplings, chicken and corn dumplings, Beef stew noodle soup and beijing noodles. I think the noodles are made in house, as it tasted really fresh. The beef stew was tender and the soup was just simmered with all the flavors of it. The Beijing noodles was ok, it was just more noodles than sauce but i liked how they diced up the cucumbers and onions. The shanghai dumplings were tasty and had a lot of soup inside, however, the winner was the lamb dumplings. This literally will melt in your mouth. I wish i had my own plate of this as i can finish it all without sharing. It completely overshadowed the chicken and corn dumplings. I will return just for the lamb dumplings!”

“Im new to the area! On a walk i stopped by and it was very busy, line out the door. The gentleman, Tyler, was so positive, smooth, and effective in his handling of the rush. He was so cheerful and had a lot of good communication with his clients. I will come back for Tyler's service again soon! Keep up the great work sir!”

“The cafe says it is still offering a reduced menu which is odd as it was busy when I visited. The food is okay, not great, and overpriced if you are not Oracle staff and are therefore charged more. The food was better before COVID, so hopefully the cafe can return to a wider menu of better quality items in the future.”

“This is a pretty good sandwich shop but goodness every time we come here it's EXTREMELY SLOW! You can wait upwards of 30+ minutes for sandwiches. We even went at what I thought was an off hour (around 2pm on a Sunday) and we still waited 20-30 minutes for two sandwiches.I did enjoy my sandwich last time though - turkey, lettuce, tomato, mayo on Dutch crunch bread. Bread didn't cut up my mouth or break my teeth (a problem I've had with some other Dutch crunch bread at some places)... ingredients tasted fresh and overall sure I'd come back but not if I'm in a hurry.”

“Are you in the mood for a really good taco and are fine with eating on a Costco pull out table in between a meat counter and an aisle of flour? Then do I have the place for you! This is the 8th Mexican taco joint I've tried on this street and from a flavour standpoint it is my favorite! We had the pork, beef and chicken - all delicious. The bathroom is through the kitchen and you need to use the kitchen sink to clean your hands. It was weird but I was thankful I was allowed to use it. Joy of toddlers is they always need to go when you least expect it.You pick out your drink at the grocery section and pay for everything at the grocery store cash on your way out.”

“It's my first time going here, I was looking for a new bagel place close to work. This place was a good alternative. I've been to a few of their other chains, and I can not complain. Bagels are amazing and fresh. Service, fast and friendly. This place is a lot bigger on the inside, definitely has lots of seating to accommodate a party. The store was simply decorated and clean.I tried the Vietnamese coffee to go with my bagel, and it was fresh and strong. It didn't taste like the pre-made stuff at other places.”

“Fantastic local taqueria that we visit at least once a week. The type of place where the servings are fantastic, the flavor authentic and the people very friendly. Perfect.”

“Ordered from this place via Door Dash on Sunday evening because our regular burrito place was closed. Pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Nikko's Special Burrito with chicken and an order of chips and salsa. The burrito was only $12 and was the size of my car. I only ordered for myself because my husband claimed that he was not hungry. We ended up splitting the burrito. It was delicious. Will definitely order from this place again!”

“Their cocktails are always interesting and the pork bun appetizer is worth detouring for.The rest of the food was well executed too.Our waiter seemed to have tables both inside and outside which made him harder to get ahold of, but otherwise no complaints!Expect to pay peninsula prices though.”

“The sushi chefs are skilled and passionate, and they take pride in sharing their expertise with diners. The intimate setting allows for a personal and interactive dining experience, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal.”

“Authentic Nepalese food! Vegetable pakora perfectly crisp. Momo's very flavorful and delicious, and the fried rice cooked perfectly. My only reservation was the lentil soup. It was lacking in flavor and salt, but everything else was great!”

“First time eating here even though we live close by for a long time. Food and service was very good. It's a little expensive but we'll definitely come back to have breakfast.”
