I was pleasantly surprised! I was able to adjust sweetness & ice, and dairy option available. Their drinks are crafted drinks and mine has many layered to it. I like that they used the matcha as a foam/topper. This is my new fave place. Too bad we don't have one in the area. @ Tong Sui - please open one in Livermore/Tracy/Brentwood area. This place doesn't accept cash but has online order and store pick up or use their kiosk. Tap pay or swipe are available here as well.”

“I love this coffee shop down! I usually frequent this place for the Vietnamese coffee but today I decided to try a sandwich as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and amount of filling in the sandwich. Service is always 10/10, I forgot to order cold foam on my drink and he remade it for me free of charge. The Vietnamese coffee with salted cream cold foam is a must! I spent around $22 for a sandwich and a small Vietnamese coffee.”

BUT if you're looking for a hole in a wall, great quality food, friendly staff, and located at downtown Redwood City, this place is for you. I need to come here more often. “Most unique take on sushi in the Bay Area. Think “elevated sushi,” with a specialty in drawing out deep, full-bodied flavors through dry-aging.

We’ve been here a number of times, and it’s consistently one of our favorite sushi experiences. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the chefs make it feel personal every time.

I also swear the cuts of fish get noticeably thicker once we get the chefs a little drunk, though they’ll never admit to it.

If you’re looking for traditional sushi, there are plenty of great options around the Bay. But if you want something more distinctive, especially if you’re interested in dry-aged fish and seeing how much flavor can be pulled out of great ingredients, Sushi Ai really stands out.”

“Amazing meal, one of the few places for authentic kaiseki in the bay area. Very delicate flavors and intricately crafted. The zensai in particular was exquisite, grilled kamasu with egg yolk sauce was absolutely delicious and had me scraping off every bit of sauce from my plate. Some very unique dishes and flavor combinations I've not seen elsewhere too (peach tempura).

Service was very warm and attentive. Ambiance also very quiet and relaxing. Stepping in feels like being transported to Japan. Menus are truly seasonal too, will definitely be back!”

“This restaurant is run by an elderly couple who are genuinely the sweetest people ever! They make you feel so welcome, and the food is absolutely incredible.
Every time I come here, I get a plate with the shrimp tempura and a California roll, and the chicken teriyaki is so good too. But honestly, their salads are actually my favorite part—I can’t even explain it, but the dressing they use is just so insanely good! I end up eating so much of it. In fact, everything is so delicious that I always buy a ton of sides every single time I go. This place is amazing and deserves so much more love!”

I've had some watery ones from other restaurants that spilled out when cut open in the past. Theirs is legit. Customize your own, but the 1 on the menu's fabulous as is. They make their own herb focaccia! Ordering mouthwatering meatballs a la carte is a must! Pastas, paninis, open face, salads, rotisserie chx, ribs, draft beer, wine, delivery, takeout, etc. Perfect place to take your loved ones/friends who'd appreciate the art & hard work the staff serves up so quickly!”

“Talk about a hidden gem. I am not from the area but the line outside the establishment was enough for me to stop, park and get in line. I wish I knew the line was for dine in, because I waited in it not knowing it was for dine in! You know a place is good for menudo and birria when the Mexicans are lining up on Sunday for the crudo! If you know you know. It is Morelia style birria and to me, it is very affordable for quality food.
The meat was sooooo tender let me tell you. And the consome, perfect. They have a wide variety of items on the menu but they are known for the birria here so just get that. It's even served with hand made tortillas so you know this is the real deal.
The cold tall mugs of agua frescas looked sooo mouthwatering. The wait for the food after ordering was about 10 minutes but let me tell you, it's worth it!”

“I went into Steve’s Cafe & Catering alone and honestly wasn’t even sure what to order at first. The staff immediately made the experience comfortable by asking thoughtful questions about what I liked and helping guide me toward the Parmesan chicken sandwich — which ended up being incredible.

It was fresh, flavorful, and so good that my girlfriend even ate vegetables she normally doesn’t enjoy. Beyond the food, the atmosphere felt welcoming and supportive, especially as a new customer. You can tell they genuinely care about helping people have a good experience, not just making a sale. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

The combo plate was huge but it felt like an ordinary dish you could get anywhere else. A bit bland nothing special.
However, the kalua pork was right on point. It tasted really good, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. That dish definitely stood out and made the meal worthwhile. If you go, I’d recommend sticking with the kalua pork.
The Hawaiian cookies was such a sweet surprise to see them there that I bought the guava flavor one. It instantly took me back to beautiful memories of a special place in Hawaii with family. Every bite felt nostalgic and comforting. 🌺”

My personal favorites include the petits fours cookies, eclairs, vanilla cake with strawberries and their delicious coffee/ Lattes. Their breakfast and lunch sandwiches are a must try! They now also have Gelato! My husband recently placed a corporate catering order from them for a variety of breakfast and dessert items and was very happy as well. Highly recommend!”

“We love Burmese food. For years, if we wanted Burmese food, we would have to drive at least 30-40 min to SF or South Bay, so having Burma Spice in our neighborhood is a dream come true!

Burma Spice hosted our daughter's high school graduation luncheon on May 23rd and we couldn't have been happier! We had about 30 guests in a separate area in the back of the restaurant. Kham and Raymond were so nice and helpful in planning the menu for our gathering.

Everything was served family style. We ordered
- Tea Leaf Salad- the perfect ratio of fermented tea leaves and ingrediants.
- Samosas- light, crispy, and so flavorful
- Nan Gyi Thoke- the noodles were perfectly cooked, not mushy, and the curry was creamy and delightful.
- Basil Lemongrass Chicken- fresh basil, and lemongrass really made this dish a popular topic.
- Pumpkin Veggie- Nice ratio of pumpkin and other veggies, very hearty.
- Kebat Lamb- savory, packed full of rich spices, the onions add so much texture and flavor as well.
- Jasmine Rice

Plus plenty of yummy tropical cocktails for the adults.

They set up a little table for the cake, and some graduation items that we brought. They really went out of their way to make our celebration comfortable.

Everything was in generous portions, fresh and expertly prepared. My guests raved about the food and service. Some of my guests had never tried Burmese food before and now in their meal rotation.

We didn't realize that we had stretched into their rest period between lunch and dinner because they were so gracious about not rushing us.

I highly recommend Burma Spice in Redwood City for any meal or occasion. The restaurant is such a gem in our neighborhood and the service is friendly.”

“10/10 Vietnamese coffee. I don’t think I’ve ever posted an “after” picture of something I ate or drank, but after that first sip, I just kept drinking and completely forgot to take another photo.

I got mine with oat milk, which made it extra creamy without being too heavy. The caffeine level was perfect for me too. I got the boost I wanted without feeling wired or jittery afterward.

Service was quick, and I really appreciated that the cashier personally brought our drinks over to where we were sitting. Such a great little community find. Definitely coming back for this coffee.”

Having tried my fair share of omakase across the Bay Area, Sushi Kinsen has easily earned a spot at the very top of my list. From the moment you walk past the bustling street into the serene, hinoki-appointed waiting room, you are completely transported.Chef Jason’s multi-course progression is an absolute masterpiece. The meticulous level of execution, precise temperature controls, and technical artistry on display here genuinely rival the crème de la crop omakase experiences in Tokyo.

We started the night with a beautifully refreshing, clean glass of mozuku seaweed that set a perfect tone. The sashimi course was incredibly pristine, highlighting sweet, crunchy tsubugai (whelk conch) and perfectly sliced white fish. Another early showstopper was the deeply sweet, masterfully marinated botan ebi (spotted prawn).The luxury ingredients kept coming, showcasing an incredible Hokkaido Kegani (hairy crab) course paired beautifully with premium Shiro Uni. The Awabi (abalone) sequence was arguably the highlight of the entire meal—moving from a comforting, clear dashi broth soup into a decadent, deeply savory abalone liver kimo sauce poured over warm shari. Watching the chef's precise technical skill and knife work right at the counter makes the experience incredibly engaging.Hot courses like the crispy, deep-fried mehikari (greeneye fish) with a squeeze of fresh lime provided an excellent texture contrast before moving into the heavy-hitting nigiri. The sheer freshness of the classic poached Kuruma Ebi (tiger prawn) was only accentuated by the chef taking the time to personally introduce its exact preparation to every guest. Some guests at the counter even complimented his engaging narrative as being equally exhilarating as his food!

The rest of the nigiri hits were just as legendary—the Akami (lean bluefin tuna) nigiri was perfectly structured, and the delicate shiromi (white fish) nigiri featured flawless, intricate scoring. The execution on the back half of the menu is exceptional, particularly the anago (sea eel), which stands as a true pinnacle of craftsmanship. Its natural flavor was complemented elegantly by the deep smokiness of binchotan, yielding just the right amount of crispness on the outside while remaining incredibly soft and delicate on the inside. A fragrant dusting of sansho pepper balanced seamlessly with a subtle hint of salt, culminating in a composed yet explosive symphony of flavors. We also loved the velvety uni chawanmushi, which was pure comfort in a bowl and were surprised by the inclusion of Daisen Uni on the menu!!!!

To elevate the night, Sunny (the manager) suggested pairing the meal with a bottle of Kuroushi 2025 Junmai Ginjo sake, which brought a beautiful, floral, velvety smooth complexity that complemented the richer cuts perfectly.

We finished the evening with a gorgeously presented dessert tray of fresh seasonal fruit (strawberry, blueberries, and shine muscat grape) alongside a perfectly crispy, traditional Monaka ice cream sandwich with homemade coconut ice cream.

Beyond the impeccable food and beautiful tableware, the service from Sunny and the team was warm and highly attentive without feeling stuffy. “It was an early Saturday morning when I went to Eskina restaurant in Redwood City. I was seated right away and asked what I wanted to drink. I ordered tea and got it right away. The menu is very diverse and I couldn't make up my mind about which omelet I wanted. I decided on an old favorite...ham and cheese. I sipped my tea and placed my order with a very attentive waiter who knew the menu and told me what today's specials were. I didn't have to wait long before I was served a beautiful omelet that was worth waiting for. However, I didn't see as much cheese as I expected. That was a let down. Also I was asked multiple times if I wanted coffee which was very annoying. I do recommend Eskina for a delicious breakfast. Too bad I'm not a coffee drinker. They offer a beautiful cinnamon coffee. You will be pleasantly surprised if you decide to try this undiscovered local gem of a breakfast place. I enjoyed my breakfast which came with delicious potatoes and toast and all the fixins.”

“I feel like it’s currently 3 stars but the potential is 4 stars beacause it’s a new cafe the crossaunt wasn’t fully warmed up and the “chai” was just cinnamon milk but can be easily fixed by having real chai and you can easily cook the croissant more and then you can tell it’s not a large selection of smoothie s just mango and strawberry and the asthetics is all made by ai and they have a swing you can’t swing on but comfy chairs”
