This place is great. Lovely family atmosphere and food is tasty. It's a bit on the expensive side. My only complaints that their coffee is weak. It's colored water. I get zero pick-me-
I love Stacks, been here quite a few times, everyone is always so nice. Back in the 1960s, it used to be a place called Golden West Pancakes.The Redwood City location was the very first one. It opened in 1962 and served the community for many years. The building hasn’t changed structurally but has obviously been remodeled since Stacks opened here.Golden West Pancakes was a chain of restaurants that existed in the Bay Area from 1962 through the late 1990s.

The staff was friendly and we were promptly seated. There is a dedicated gluten free menu. I ordered the veggie tacos. I did order a side of bacon that never came out but it wasn’t a big deal for me. They get busy after 11:30AM. I’d definitely go back for a GF waffle!
