“This ramen shop is my proud spot to take visiting friends in Palo Alto. It is hard to find good Asian food in Palo Alto with reasonable price. However, Ramen Nagi is so good that it is worth the bucks. I have tried all flavors and it is all delicious, including Veggie Ramen. Prepared to be full after slurping all the ramen! The line is very long so the trick is to get there before the shop opens. 15 minutes early should be good enough.

UPDATE 2026/6: Still very popular with a long line! I still finish the ramen to the very last drop :) The chicken karaage is also good but I am surprised that the boys don't like it that much. Anyway, just ramen itself is enough to check this place out.“

“The former Hunan Mifen location has transformed into a Yunnan-style restaurant called Miss Shang. I was happy to see that my favorites—the spicy beef bone noodles and wild mushroom rice—are still on the menu despite the change in concept.
On this visit, we ordered the Roasted Chicken Paella, which takes about 40 minutes to prepare, so ordering ahead is recommended. The rice was aromatic and packed with flavor from the chicken and morel mushrooms, while the chicken was tender and juicy.
A standout appetizer was the Yunnan-style crispy tofu. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and tossed with plenty of fresh herbs, it was both flavorful and refreshing. We also enjoyed the tomato soup with meatballs—the meatballs were fragrant, juicy, and pleasantly bouncy.
Don't skip dessert. The rice-flavored ice cream was creamy, chewy, and not too sweet, with a texture similar to gelato. The Pu-erh tea ice cream was equally delicious, with a rich tea flavor that came through beautifully.
Overall, Miss Shang offers a unique Yunnan dining experience with thoughtfully prepared dishes and memorable flavors.“

ordered the duck and mushroom soup, pan fried buns, and their combo D which included wonton soup and noodles with peanut sauce

duck and mushroom soup was the worst thing we ordered. $10 for a tiny pot the height of a toilet paper roll, but narrower and with thick walls. would recommend to those who like stringy and still half dried mushrooms.

the pan fried buns were good, though they were on the oilier side. very fragrant, and tasted delicious with their vinegar.

the wonton soup was the best out of everything ordered and tasted quite delicious, but the wontons themselves were low quality—they were small, which is fine, but the filling tasted like fish balls and not actual meat.

the noodles were a bit disappointing. they were soggy and the sauce was probably something you could make at home with peanut butter, soy sauce, and sesame oil. their menu says that the pictures are for reference only, and that's very true. the noodles looked completely different from the picture on their menu, whether it was portion size, color, or even noodle shape.

they had complimentary side dishes and the spicy tofu skin was great. nobody told us they were available, though, and we found out when we were going to use the restroom.

“Went with a group of 10+ people for a weekday lunch in this restaurant. As a start, we ordered the popular Chinese tea smoked duck and the honey walnut shrimp among others (spicy dishes were mostly avoided as most of us are not comfortable with eating spicy stuff). Service provided was impeccable and the restaurant atmosphere was also nice and quiet. However, the quality of the dishes did not quite match the other two areas mentioned above. Besides the smoked duck dish that was great, the consensus among some of us at my table was that the dishes were a bit too salty and oily. Also, the portion sizes that came with the meat dishes being served were barely sufficient for our table of 8-9 people (did not get feedback from the other table occupants). Nevertheless, the manager prepared a special fish dish that was not found on the menu along with some cultural explanation associated with eating this fish dish which left a favorable impression among the group of us. Thus, this helped to bump up the rating for the standard of the food being served.“

It was a Saturday and the restaurant was clearly very busy, so I expected the pickup to take a while, but everything was ready smoothly and the person who helped me, possibly the manager, was genuinely kind and attentive even with so much going on. I was honestly impressed by the quality of the food too. Everything tasted fresh, carefully prepared, and much better than I normally expect from an online order. The whole experience, from the pickup service to the food itself, was excellent. I don’t come to this area often, but I would definitely order from here again the next time I’m nearby“

“Came here for the stinky tofu, and tried some of the other Taiwanese specialties... The fried green beans was a stand out, and the garlic cucumbers was very fresh. Also ordered the stewed pork bento box, which was their version of Taiwanese stewed minced pork over rice, which was served with a stewed whole egg, boiled bok choy, some yellow oshinko.... The crab pork soup dumplings were gigantic, about twice the size of the soup dumplings at DinTaiFung, but couldn't quite match up to it's famous brethren in terms of quality of ingredients. Then again, you're paying less than 1/2 the cost. Service was friendly and quick.... Finally, the stinky tofu wasn't that stinky... But did meet the expectations.... “This is a good old Cantonese place. It has been my family go to back in the days. Now a day, they don't have that much business. We do stop by ever so often to get our OG food fixes in. Some of their servers is a bit rude, but don't mind them. This is just how they work.“

“Hand-pulled pan-fried noodles is one of my favorite dishes. I get it at every restaurant that sells it. This restaurant had the best version of that dish I have ever had, by a considerable margin. I have never written a google restaurant review before, but the food was so good that it motivated me to write one.

It was like every ingredient was the best version of that ingredient and all the ingredients were all put together into one symphony of flavor. I was reminded of the first time I heard the Beatles.“

“I had to go to the Richmond District today and I knew farmers market was happening. I told myself to just get a snack because I need to fit into a dress for the two holiday parties I'm going to on Thursday. Within 10ft of entering farmers market, I saw Kunugi Noodles's booth that had a picture of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. So naturally I didn't listen to myself and ordered one lol!The owner was working by himself so it was a wait. But the okonomiyaki was worth it, especially because Hiroshima-style is hard to find in the city.It wasn't exactly Hiroshima-style because the crepe batter was mixed with the cabbage and the egg was pre-made (a fried egg instead of it being shaped like a crepe). But working in an outdoor kitchen has limitations and cooking it that way was the way to do it in this situation. It was delicious nonetheless!The cabbage/crepe pancake is where the seafood was. There were pieces of shrimp and squid that gave it a chewiness against the softness of the crepe batter. The cabbage added a smokiness. The yakisoba noodles were yummy and maintained a slightly firm texture from being fried. I also liked the amount of Bonita flakes added. It was just right to add more seafood flavor.The owner was really nice! Even though he was clearly busy working on his own, we conversed a little on our travels to Japan.I know this page says his location is at a farmers market elsewhere and I don't know how often he's at Clement Street's farmers market. But wherever you go, if you see his booth, check it out!“

“Family friendly spot with delicious food that arrives fairly quickly. It's surprisingly affordable given how comfortable the restaurant seating is. I love getting the small side dish of jampong (red soup) since I can't finish the entree version myself. Also a great spot for groups since the dining area is really large. We always get the Jajangmyeung, Jamppong (spicy soup), and the fried pork or chicken.“

“I had eaten at this Peking-style cuisine before when I was in the Bay Area, and this time I came back after they had moved to a bigger location. The owner is quite young, but you can tell he really cares about the food and the customers. He was very patient and explained the dishes to us in detail.

What impressed me most is that the food feels very authentic. The owner told us that his father started cooking at a very young age in China, and many of the dishes here are based on his father’s long-time recipes and experience. You can really taste that kind of traditional Beijing flavor.

Their smoked chicken is definitely one of the signature dishes. It is not something you can easily find at many other restaurants, and it was very well done, flavorful but not too salty. The owner said they specially source smaller young chickens from a farm for this dish, and it is a recipe his father has been making for many years. I highly recommend trying it.

The pork trotters were also excellent — fresh, tender, and not overly salty. The lamb dishes and other Beijing-style dishes were very solid as well. Overall, I feel like this is the kind of place where it is hard to order wrong if you like authentic northern Chinese or Beijing food.

The location is not super obvious from the outside, but they have parking in the lot, so that makes things much easier. It also feels like many customers are regulars who already know this place.“

“First time visit. This place used to be China village restaurant. It serves dimsum and hongkong style dishes. It has live seafood. I heard the chef is from Pallette tea and garden. When we arrived it was not busy but later in the night the restaurant is almost full. Overall, the food is yummy. The beef is a bit salty. Service wise, they might need to do better as if you go to another sizable hongkong seafood restaurant , someone will greet you and serve right a way. We will try the dimsum next time.“
