“Many promotions going on, they have eat for under $10 and I was more than full. Also they have a gift card deal and more discounts when leaving a review that I am taking advantage of! This place is very well priced and you can tell everything is fresh. I saw the girl cutting up all the vegetables from scratch. “Had a delicious lunch with 1 family member & his visiting friend today. We all enjoyed the dishes that the only photos I took were desserts consisting of the classic sesame balls (bigger than anywhere else I’ve eaten) & the black sesame mochi in peanut crumble (only place I’ve seen).

The portion is generous on the mentioned desserts above & the mushrooms dumplings.

The only thing I dislike in Chinese restaurants in general is the WHITE RICE that I mistakenly ordered 2 bowls which I should have refused.

Japanese white rice still reigns supreme in my book.

A few attentive waiters served our table which I preferred, vs 1 designated server, which means we could call on any available waiter for assistance.

We could only ordered so much for 3 diners, so there are more reasons to go back to enjoy other dishes.

Prices are on the higher side due to @ the DT location.

PS — Parking in residential streets a few blocks away, for 2 hours at-a-time… Doesn’t DT want people to stay longer?“

“We stopped by to get some soup on a cold Friday night and I'm so glad that we did. The soup was absolutely delicious. The noodles brought up childhood memories of my grandma's homemade noodles. The broth was very tasty and there were plenty of vegetables. My boyfriend had steamed buns with pork, he like them a lot. Very reasonably priced. We'll be back.“

“We always order the regular pulled noodles with option to get as much meat as fits in your palm! Great option for a full meal! Love the broth and noodles, if you need ask to bring your broth hot , because regular temp is always, as you would be eating it right away“

“I had never been to a noodle house but my son brought me here. I was pleasantly surprised by his noodle dish. I've never been a at noodle fan but the noodles were so flavorful. I couldn't put my finger on it but it was so good!! Not too spicy, perfect blend of spices. I had the beef chow mein and it was absolutely perfect if you are craving chow mein. We are every last bit of everything.“

“Beyond average but missing some to push it to GOAT territory. The dining experience is very Chinese, from the way you order to how they structure the menu to how the dishes are served I feel like I'm back in PRC. Which could be good or bad depending on person. I ordered the signature spicy noodle combo. I agree with other reviewers that the noodles are the weakest link they are way too soft and wimpy. The soup base is good with the distinct spicy profile but the ingredients in there doesn't really get the taste integrated, they all just fell flat. Prices are on the slightly expensive side but portions are big, two people of average appetite could easily share a combo, and they have a condiments aisle you can add cilantro peanuts or whatever unlimited. Kinda weird for the noodles tho since they are already heavily seasoned, it's more of a hotpot thing. But I added some fried peanuts into my noodles nonetheless. Service was OK and vibe is family / locals.“

Ordered the Spicy Chicken BBQ, which was pretty yummy. It could have had a little more flavor, and some of the chicken got a little too charred on the sizzling plate, but it was still decent.

The bon chon was good. I liked the tofu bon chon and the Jap Chae.

Also ordered the tteokbokki (medium spicy), which was good too. I don't think I like it personal-preference-wise, but I can recognize it was well made.

Also, entrees like the Spicy Chicken BBQ had reduced prices for weekday lunch, so I recommend coming for lunch.

Overall, a decent spot. might come back again!“

“Decent restaurant that is very quick with their service.

It felt like each dish tasted just about the same. The wontons and the spicy beef noddle tasted very similar in that the broth was the same. The dumpling and the beef weren’t season too much.

The pork knuckle rice was really good. I enjoyed that very much.“

“We love Burmese food. For years, if we wanted Burmese food, we would have to drive at least 30-40 min to SF or South Bay, so having Burma Spice in our neighborhood is a dream come true!

Burma Spice hosted our daughter's high school graduation luncheon on May 23rd and we couldn't have been happier! We had about 30 guests in a separate area in the back of the restaurant. Kham and Raymond were so nice and helpful in planning the menu for our gathering.

Everything was served family style. We ordered
- Tea Leaf Salad- the perfect ratio of fermented tea leaves and ingrediants.
- Samosas- light, crispy, and so flavorful
- Nan Gyi Thoke- the noodles were perfectly cooked, not mushy, and the curry was creamy and delightful.
- Basil Lemongrass Chicken- fresh basil, and lemongrass really made this dish a popular topic.
- Pumpkin Veggie- Nice ratio of pumpkin and other veggies, very hearty.
- Kebat Lamb- savory, packed full of rich spices, the onions add so much texture and flavor as well.
- Jasmine Rice

Plus plenty of yummy tropical cocktails for the adults.

They set up a little table for the cake, and some graduation items that we brought. They really went out of their way to make our celebration comfortable.

Everything was in generous portions, fresh and expertly prepared. My guests raved about the food and service. Some of my guests had never tried Burmese food before and now in their meal rotation.

We didn't realize that we had stretched into their rest period between lunch and dinner because they were so gracious about not rushing us.

I highly recommend Burma Spice in Redwood City for any meal or occasion. The restaurant is such a gem in our neighborhood and the service is friendly.“

“These were the best noodles I’ve ever had! I ordered chicken with pumpkin puree and my husband had clear broth beef noodles, and both were amazing. Staff were very friendly. Everything was served in less than 15 minutes though it was lunch time. “This has been our favorite udon spot for a while now. The only other spot we would consider competition is Udon Mugizo but we love this place a lot more. First, the noodles have better texture and their oxtail broth is perfectly seasoned. For appetizers, we really like their chicken karaage and their mackerel.

Their service is also really great. We have a 4 month old and he was clearly trying to sleep. Our server was kind enough to put lullaby music on for him and overall was just a really nice guy. I wish we got his name but it was one of our most memorable meals ever!“

“The food was very good, although I was disappointed in the signature chicken rice. The chicken was the least exciting of anything on my plate - the sides were excellent. The chicken wasn't very flavorful and I've had many versions of chicken rice for comparison.
My son loved his brined lamb! That might be worth returning for.
Service was poor because my husband and son were almost finished eating before I got my chicken rice.

“My friend and I got the Mentaiko soupless ramen, shishito peppers, takowasa, squid legs tempura and the hokkaido crepe. Everything was delicious. Ramen was rich and creamy with a hint of spiciness. Our appetizers were all delicious, flavorful and the squid legs were so crispy. I love the texture from the takowasa, crunchy and had a chew to it. Our servers were very sweet and helpful. I will definitely come back here if I visit again.“

“Fugetsu is a world wide chain of okonomiyaki. In fact, Rokko/Fugetsu has the first location of Fugetsu in the whole US.

Always a good vibe here and possibly the only place to get okonomiyaki in the Bay Area like they do it in Japan. Huge menu and drink selection with the shared Rokko and Fugetsu menu. I like the okonomiyaki sampler a ton as well. Portions are huge for this dish and everything else on the menu.“

“Hand-pulled pan-fried noodles is one of my favorite dishes. I get it at every restaurant that sells it. This restaurant had the best version of that dish I have ever had, by a considerable margin. I have never written a google restaurant review before, but the food was so good that it motivated me to write one.

It was like every ingredient was the best version of that ingredient and all the ingredients were all put together into one symphony of flavor. I was reminded of the first time I heard the Beatles.“

“A Canadian company I've been contracting with on a big event in Sunnyvale the past 2 years has held a dinner for all the employees and contractors at XLB Kitchen on one of our last nights together. We reserve the entire outdoor patio seating for our party and are treated to the most wonderful family-style meal! I learned last year to pace myself when they start bringing out the first couple of courses as the portions are huge and you'll want to try everything! Service is top notch, too!

My favorite dish is the marinated pork. OMG! Absolutely the best pork I have eaten in my life at any restaurant or cooked at home! Incredibly tender. Incredibly tasty. If you eat pork, you HAVE to try it!“

Pros:
All food items were delicious! Had their own take on our favorites, chili wontons and cucumber salad. Both amazing! Tried a new dish, beef rolls, which had cucumber and cilantro. Very good.

Cons:
Atmosphere is just not cozy at all!! No music or background noise so it was dead silent, just hearing people breathe and clank plates. New lighting is too cold, they added hanging white fluorescent lights, they’re too low and a visual eye sore. A warmer light, higher up might be better. Also the table set up is horrific. All tables pushed together weirdly like Tetris, while the front is empty and doesn’t have a welcoming host desk/area.“

“Big Bites is one of those rare spots that just gets it right. Both my daughter and I love the food here. Everything feels fresh, bright, and clean, from the flavors to the presentation.

Our go-to favorites are the chicken and veggie pho and the banh mi. The ingredients taste vibrant and thoughtfully prepared, and you can tell real care goes into every dish. I am especially looking forward to trying the curry next.
