“Overall really flavorful full, some of the richest butter chicken I’ve had. However they were kinda slow to make my order took around 20-25 minutes when dining in. But it was definitely worth it, they give you nearly a pint of butter chicken and you can order a pretty large side of rice but I recommend you get the rice and naan to clean up all the sauce. Overall pretty good I just think they could be a bit faster.“

“We come here often because we live nearby - all the employees have been very kind and friendly. We love their lychee champagne, and their desserts are sooo good (especially the fried banana). In terms of food, we've tried many dishes, most are yummy, though a few somewhat bland (read the menu closely, you can see if you are getting something with spice or bland from the ingredients list)“

“Amazing place for a cozy dinner! Great ambience, the food is yummy and the people there are friendly. Kudos to Clayton and Ayush for making the experience even more beautiful. We ordered chicken Malabar and korma, both were amazingly delicious and as per our spice tolerance. The biryani was the show stopper for sure. And the dessert was delicious as well! We thank the team for a nice experience and will definitely visit them more!“

“Good food and atmosphere and very good service by all the staff specially by Bimal very friendly and service by him is very good. Location is very nice and timings make it different than other restaurant. Mid night finding good Indian restaurants is not that easy for dine-in. Don’t forget to try masala tea.“

“The Masala Pav Bhaji was good. The food was hit and service was quick. They have the tent outside to sit. Parking is very limited. Masala vada Pav and Regular pavs were also tasty. They were delicious. It was neither sweet nor sugarless. It's the best place for quick bites and street food of “

“Saffron is an Indian restaurant in San Carlos with a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere, and dishes that truly stand out for their flavor. I arrived shortly after they opened and was greeted by a server who, while polite, offered service that felt somewhat limited and lacked warmth. He handed me the menu and walked away, so I had to call him over to place my order—a detail that could definitely be improved.
I started with the cauliflower, perfectly cooked and paired with a well-executed sauce. The samosas, drizzled with yogurt sauce and a touch of tangy tamarind, were a true hit. Next, I had the classic chicken masala, served with an exquisite garlic naan. The food was excellent: authentic and well-balanced flavors that did not disappoint.
However, the service remained detached, with no drink recommendations or attentive follow-up at the table. The chai was delicious, and the dessert—a cheesecake in a cup—was good but not impressive enough to end the meal memorably. The server was quick to bring the check, but I would have appreciated more attention to detail.
Overall, the dishes are excellent and stand out for their quality. However, the service and dessert could be improved to make the experience perfect. I would give it 5 stars, hoping they refine those aspects to make this place one of my favorites for this type of cuisine.“

“The best puris in the Bay Area. This place has hands down the best puris to use for pani puri and are difference between average and great pani puri. They also have a small variety of other equally delicious fried snacks. The puris sell out pretty fast so make sure you get there early.
They only accept cash/Venmo(extra 5%).“

“The key to a good Indian restaurant in San Jose Bay Area is the size. I find smaller sized ones provide good quality food and service. This place is no exception. Their lunch is delicious and is their weekend breakfast items. They open at 8:30 am“

“This was my second visit to Hyderabad Dim Biriyani and to my surprise the food was so much better and well prepared. Our mutton curry was little undercooked but once we mentioned about it the owner right away took care of us. I wish if they can make their naan for $4.—-little bigger. Also they should give some extra napkins to the customers so that they don’t have to ask for every little thing. I will recommend you to go and enjoy the food. It’s always good to complaint to the owner/manager so that they can take care of you and rectify if there is something wrong. #papihanandy“

“One of the best places in the Bay Area for authentic Indian cuisine. While other spots claim to offer genuine Indian flavors, if you're truly craving spicy Indian food, you should give this place a try.
Also they have started a thali which is a must try and cherry on top it is also served in jain
So if you follow jainism their jain food is out of this world especially their balti paneer
Never had such a sabzi before“

“Chaat House has the cutest homely interior with old school TVs playing old Bollywood movies. You have a view of the cooks working hard in the kitchen and there is a very casual vibe. The cashiers and workers are really kind m, but they do not go above and beyond in any way. I usually get takeout of the rotis and a mango lassi. The prices for the rotis are quite cheap which I appreciate. $6.50 for 10 rotis. Talk about a deal! The rotis are soft and authentic, and this is quite visible when you first look at the roti. The rotis are of decent size and they remain fresh in their aluminum foil. For a delicious dessert I usually get a mango lassi as well. The mango lassi is a bit more expensive at $4 per drink. The mango lassi comes cold and tastes tart and fresh! OVERALL, the food for the price is very fresh and tasty, so I definitely recommend this joint to others as a causal place to dine. I will definitely be coming again when I get cravings for some refreshing mango lassi and soft roti!
Vegetarian options: All vegetarian options and many vegan options“

“In my top three favorite Indian food in the Bay Area. The Apollo fish is to die for and the fish biryani is amazing too. Chicken Chettinad is delicious too. My (Desi) husband and I come here at least once a week. It’s sooooo good, and they don’t lessen the spice because I’m white, which I really appreciate.“

“After eating biryani at various places across the Bay Area over the last 7 years I can confidently say that this is the most authentic Hyderabadi biryani you can get around here. The meat is so tender, and the flavors are perfect and very close to Sarvi or Bawarchi biryani from Hyderabad. Really hope they do well and stay in business for ever.“

“We recently dined at Khazana by Sanjeev Kapoor, and the food was absolutely delicious—each dish was full of flavor and well-prepared. The service was attentive and friendly. However, it did feel like there was a subtle push to order more than we really needed. Despite having a good appetite, we ended up with more food than we could finish. Overall, a great dining experience!“

“I was never a fan of Lamb Gosht curry until I tried it at this restaurant. The gravy here is noticeably thicker, with a subtle hint of tomato flavor that set it apart from others I’ve had. In a well-prepared curry like this, the meat almost melts into the sauce, blending seamlessly—a result of slow cooking over hours, and it’s clear the restaurant has put in the effort to achieve that perfection.“

“I have done catering from KASA for Diwali Party for 2 years and every time it was a hit with the guest. “Ordered the Chicken Tikka masala and garlic Naan, the white boy classic lol. Probably the best chicken Tikka I've had in a very long time. They actually grill the chicken instead of just boiling it in the sauce, so it's got that awesome charbroiled taste to it. Great spot to order some takeout and sit down and eat, they have tons of seating.“

“Our morning of errands in Sunnyvale led us to a delightful surprise early in the afternoon: Shahi Chat n Chai, a charming food truck offering live pani puri and a variety of chats. It was the perfect stop to refuel and indulge in some delicious street food. The pani puri was bursting with flavor, and the samosa chaat had just the right balance of tangy and spicy flavors. To top it off, we enjoyed a soothing cup of masala chai that warmed us up perfectly. The portions were spot-on, ensuring we left satisfied but not overly full. This unexpected stop at Shahi Chat n Chai turned out to be a highlight of our day, leaving us already planning our next visit!“

“Southern Indian food that was absolutely amazing. The menu is small and simple and the food is large and great. Shareable portions but beware the spiciness if you’re not into that. I have a low spicy tolerance but handled it well and the spicy doesn’t linger long...at least not with what we got. It was fab. Goat curry, goat basmati rice in bam, cauliflower fried with spices, and masala fries. Yummmmmmy!“

“This is vada pav. Indian delicacy! The best in the bay, and to add more to it the experience. This is my second visit here.I would say the best!!! I'm talking about Lingelo the server who works in the front. I was there Sunday morning for a quick bite and it was packed. I saw this guy managing the floor all by himself. Wasn't sure what to eat so asked him and Lingelo suggested me The vada pav. Indian Burger in local language. Man I tell you, the best. Not only was the food great the service, gesture and approach was outstanding. Lingelo needs a raise if at all the owners are reading this. Not around here everytime, but if I come back, I'm definitely coming to curryup now with more people.“

“????? **Incredible Delhi-6 Tandoori Chicken Pizza!**
I recently tried the Delhi-6 Tandoori Chicken Pizza, and it was beyond my expectations! The flavors were rich, bold, and authentic—truly capturing the essence of tandoori spices. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, and the pizza itself had the perfect balance of toppings and crust. The fusion of traditional Indian flavors with pizza is a genius idea, and they’ve mastered it!
The shop itself is warm and inviting, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and taken care of. The service was quick, and they made sure everything was perfect. This is hands down one of the best food experiences I’ve had, and I can't recommend it enough. If you love Indian flavors and pizza, you have to try this!“

“Epic food. 100% recommend! Ordered the vijayawada paneer biryani, chicken biryani, and the chicken 65. We love it hot so ordered “spicy” and they delivered! The masala in the biryani is soooo effing good and trust me I’m a huge food critic! More so, when it comes to Indian food. The rice grains were cooked only as much as they should be, and were super flavorful. Please give this a try and I can bet you won’t be disappointed. If you’re South Indian and craving biryani, you gotta get takeout from here. Note that you cannot dine in because it’s a cloud kitchen with minimal (or no) human interaction. I’m from New York and would love to have a branch opened there! Management please look into this!
Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from. Excellent biryanis.“

“I ordered the punjabi prawn curry ( mild). It' so tasty. The store removes all the black suff from the backs of the prawn, otherwise it would take me a long time to remove it and my hands would get dirty. The chair is very comfortable. If you want to try indian food, this restaurant is a good choice.“

“I have very high standards for restaurants so this review is very critical.
Having said that. This restaurant is really really up there. My god. I don't think I've had food this good in the Bay Area
I ordered the tangdi kebab, the kerala fried chicken, chicken tikka masala and tandoori roti, garlic naan
The kerala fried chicken was 20/10. I cannot emphasize how good this dish is. The chef is a god amongst men. He peppered it with fried coconut flakes! This is excellent.
The tangdi kebab was falling off of the bone. It was so well done. 10/10
The chicken tikka masala. Felt like it was homemade. You know that scene in ratatouille when the food critic eats it and feels like it's his mom's cooking? That's what it was like.
The service from the owner was amazing. He prepared a fresh lime soda for us with full details.
Ambiance is extremely well done. Minimalistic design that feels upper class and CLEAN.
I think this is a masterclass in small business restaurant design. Others should take notes.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
Only one critique: the garlic naan was a bit undercooked. But forgivable since everything else was too good.
Food was also very low oil and healthy“

“TILAK has become our go-to and favorite Indian restaurant in downtown Menlo Park (Santa Cruz Ave.), not only because it’s local, but because the cuisine is richly flavorful, beautifully presented, and priced a bit lower than the fare at other local Indian restaurants. TILAK also offers some novel Nepalese appetizers that are especially delicious. The servers at this family-owned restaurant are knowledgeable, responsive, and friendly. It’s too easy to miss when zipping by, but easy to find next door to the downtown Menlo Park Starbuck’s; don’t miss TILAK!“
