“I was so happy to have found this hidden gem! I travel for work and I was craving sushi. So I initially was going to get sushi at the restaurant next door. Something told me to keep walking down the street to see if there was anything better. Then I saw Hukilau and my Hawaiian heart said “OH absolutely”. It’s such a cute vibe and the food tasted exactly like home. I believe my server’s name was Michael or Matthew. He was very sweet and handled all the tables by himself. Highly recommend eating here.“

“Really good local joint for excellent Hawaiian BBQ. So many good menu selections with bbq nix. Different plates, chicken katsu, kalua pork, etc. Staff is really friendly and helpful and they are always have good traffic and plenty of seating.“

Spam Musubi incredible, get outta here, so good! “It's not table service but pretty close to it. The good is really good. We had grilled salmon and barramundi. Both were good but the barramundi was really awesome. They served the food hot, a big plus in my book. The staff is very helpful and very nice.“

“We were driving back to S. Cali and we were hungry. We wanted something fast so we opted for Hawaiian food. It is off the 101 freeway. They share a parking with a strip mall. They have designated parking for the restaurant. You order at the counter and then they call your order number. It was fast and courteous. We ordered Chicken Katsu and Hawaiian chicken with two scoops of rice, mac salad, and a salad. The $20 plate was good for two people. We shared a plate. They have lots of indoor seating and they have restrooms too. I would return.“

“I ordered the BBQ beef and asked for it cooked a little more on the tender side with the sauce on the side — similar to how I like it when I grill at home. They got it just right. The flavor was solid, the portion was good, and everything came out quickly. Service was smooth, and the place has that simple, clean, no‑nonsense atmosphere you expect from L&L. Overall, a solid 4‑star experience across food, service, and atmosphere. I’d come back again.“

“Had RouJiaMo (pork burger), LiangPi and dumplings. All of them are authentic. Their pork burger is authentic Shannxi flavor and is the top2 in the Bay IMO. Portion is huge and you can find big shrimp
chunks inside the dumplings. The dumpling wraps are hand made.

“The poke bowls here are pretty good lots of side and fish options.

Only downside is the bowls here are pretty pricey compared to other stores, that I would argue have freshier fish options for similar or even cheaper prices. But they are in downtown and rent is expensive so very understandable.

Employees here are really nice and chill. They a nice store with indoor and outdoor seating.“

“Island vibes and scrumptious Hawaiian kind food. I walked in on a gamble since it’s hard to find a good Hawaiian BBQ place. This place is about premium products and it shows in their food. Seafood is hard to fake, their Seafood platter was on point. Crunchy but moist ! I’ll be back to try it all.“

Massive food for a very reasonable price. Chicken is delicious and cooked right every time. Vegetables are fresh and delicious.

Come with a hearty appetite, or be prepared to take half your serving home with you.

This is my go-to lunch spot when I miss the on-site lunch truck at my work. NEVER had a poor experience here!“

“This junk food junkie loved my first ever bowl. And it was vegan and gluten free so I can't even believe how awesome it was. I ordered the pineapple teriyaki cauliflower bowl with no bell peppers and added mushrooms instead and absolutely everything was delicious! I ordered it served with the sesame scallion rice and I can't even believe how much I loved that rice!It was a really big portion and totally filled me up. I couldn't even finish the sweet potato salad, which was also really good. I thought I would be hungry because there was no meat in my meal but nope. Totally happy and ready for a nap. Wish my boss would let me take one LOL!I found them through GrubHub and the meal arrived nice and warm. I will definitely be ordering Lulu bowls again!“

“My husband performed here and I enjoyed the place so much. It's a cool atmosphere to hang out in and can't wait til I'm back in San Jose to visit again.“

“From the outside, this place doesn't look like much, but drop any preconceived notions. This place blows chains like L&L out of the water. If you're looking for Hawaiian and Chinese American comfort food, this is the place to go. I can honestly recommend so much of the menu, but my absolute favorite thing they make is their gravy. Their chicken cutlet with gravy is so good (same thing with their gravy fries), but a hot tip for your dipping needs is that they'll sell you the gravy separately if you ask for it.“

“We were by Costco and stopped there on a whim for take out. Ordering was easy, the wait was reasonable and the pick up from the locker super easy. The facility is not as nice as it was when they first opened but still very serviceable and convenient. We got the big daddy mixed plate - BBQ steak and BBQ chicken. Liked the chicken more than the steak, not sure that one was worth the premium charge. Will be back and try something different. Thanks!“

“A pretty solid Hawaiian barbecue restaurant chain with probably the best musubi from a chain.

Their macaroni salad is fine, not my favorite but musubi wise their my goto restaurant.

Pricing wise they're pretty good as well, especially if you get their three pack for the musubi.“
