Some items are exquisite and delicious (the shakizuke), others are a little too heavy on taste (the beef on chawanmushi) over powering the original taste of the steamed eggs and a little too salty for us (sea bass) . The sushi rice seem somewhat off on texture and softness (not sure if it was because of the rice or technique)

“I recently dined at Mayflower Seafood Restaurant in San Jose. The service was satisfactory, with staff being generally attentive and polite.

However, the food was just okay. While the portions were generous, the flavors didn't stand out, and some dishes felt a bit underwhelming.

Overall, it's an average spot for Cantonese cuisine if you're not too particular about the food quality.“

“We had a birthday celebration for my daughter here. We had it inside. We ordered many BBQ skewers especially the lamb skewers... All of the BBQ skewers were delicious and they have a variety of Fried Rice in which I really like. I am allergic to shrimp so when I told the server named Cindy about it, she said it can be customized without shrimp or replace the shrimp with another meat or egg. The inside was clean. Bathroom too. I was allowed to bring my daughter's birthday cake and the manager offered to refrigerate it and will bring it out once we are ready for my daughter to blow out the candles on it. They provided very good service. My guests loved all their foods. Also, they are the only Chinese Restaurant open between 2pm to 5pm while all other Asian Restaurants are closed between 2pm to 5pm. This restaurant is open Monday thru Thursday from 11am to 11:30pm and open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11am to 2am the next day. It also has music inside. They played a Happy Birthday music for my daughter after singing to her and we started serving the cake. We had a wonderful experience here.

Dietary restrictions: You can ask for low salt if you have high blood pressure or no shrimp or shellfish if allergic to it. You can ask for no nuts if allergic to it too.

Parking: Lots of parking spaces during mornings and afternoon from 11am to 5pm since it is at McCarthy Ranch Plaza in Milpitas by Ranch 99 Market. Free parking so it gets crowded around after 5pm Monday thru Friday and on weekends.

Kid-friendliness: The manager and server are very kid friendly. The children don't use chopsticks so the server gave us plastic spoon and fork for the children. We adults asked for silverware spoon and forks too for our fried rice and the roasted fish dish. Plus they play r&b or pop music in English so the kids can understand and had a great time listening to their music.“

“It was a holiday in the US, but my friend was off work, so we went there for lunch. It's a little far from work, but it's a dim sum restaurant. Shumai is very delicious. Personally, I quite like steamed chicken feet. It's a little big. Stir-fried greens have very thick stems. I ate a lot though. I'm full. Thank you for the meal.“
