The only downside was that the place is pretty small, so finding a table during peak hours can be a challenge. Also, the parking situation wasn’t great, so I had to circle around for a bit. “A cozy, homely, and warm place with a great menu of delicious Vegan preparations. My wife and I visited quite by chance, and are very glad we did.
We had the Tom Kha soup that sent us to bliss level with right mix of flavorful spices and fiber rich vegetables, along with Tofu. We had the yummy Papaya Salad, Eggplant Tofu and the Vegan Curry, all of which were very well prepared and presented and satiated our taste buds while bringing more vegetable goodness and Tofu along with fake meat where applicable.

The restaurant decor matches the name as well with floral decorations bringing you a happy atmosphere. Very friendly and prompt service, and staff who answer every question.

First off—weekend hours until 3AM? That alone deserves respect. Weekdays till midnight? You’re basically the safety net for bad decisions and late-night cravings. Accessibility: elite.

But let’s be real—this isn’t a strictly Vietnamese spot. The menu reads like a Southeast Asian crossover episode. Pho? Yes. Bún bò Huế? Yup. But then out of nowhere—Filipino silogs?? Longsilog, Tocilog, Chicken Adobo, Caldereta, Pancit?? I wasn’t expecting a cultural plot twist mid-menu, but I’m not mad at it.

I stuck with my usual: phở đặc biệt. And… it was fine. Not bad, not life-changing. Just… there. Which lowkey hurt more because my partner ordered beef ribs that came with a bonus bowl of phở gà—and let me tell you, that little freebie had more soul than my entire bowl. I was sitting there mid-meal, rethinking my life choices like, “why didn’t I pivot to chicken?” Immediate regret. Jealousy activated.

The bún bò Huế also looked like it had potential—definitely eyeing that for next time.

Overall vibe: small, family-owned energy. They’re not trying to impress you—they already have their crowd, and they’re feeding them just fine. Respect.

Final verdict:
Pho Mai is a solid 4/5. Not the pinnacle of Vietnamese authenticity, but dependable, open late, and quietly versatile. Just… maybe manage expectations on the phở đặc biệt and don’t sleep on that phở gà.

“2.15.2026- it was our second time after 2 years. This time we tried the combo beef pho with Bê Thui (Smoked Veal). The broth was clear and not salty or greasy. A generous amount of meat and a big chunk of gristle (I love gristle 😁). Surprisingly the Smoked Veal really added a nice touch to the pho. You eat it by dipping it in a light soybean paste.
