Their food is savory and the atmosphere is welcoming. I ordered from the vegetarian menu and it was not disappointing. No more food court food for me.
Food tastes very good. Definitely will come back here even though it takes me 35 minutes to get here

Pho 408 is a legit Vietnamese restaurant in South San Jose known for its delicious food and great vibes. The flavorful pho broth is clear, slightly golden, savory, and sweet, with thoroughly cleaned meat making it stand out. Portions are big, substantial, and generous, easily filling and often splittable between two or more people. Favorite dishes include the fried tofu, the delicious fried catfish with lemongrass, and the amazing sizzling short ribs or sizzling plate (Bò né) with cube steak, which are always a highlight.
The environment is clean, calm, cozy, and pleasant with authentic decorations, providing a family-owned feel. The staff is always very friendly, patient, attentive, helpful, incredibly accommodating, welcoming, supportive, and damn pleasant and sweet, checking in often. The restaurant is highly recommended and a favorite pho place in the bay, with traditional Saigon coffee described as exceptionally strong but lovely. Dining is always a treat, with many customers returning each week. Prices are typically $10-20 per dish, with banh mi around $8-10 and pho around $18-20.
