“Its a good place. A little $expensive$ but not bad at all. My husband and I devoured the spicy beef pho and shaking beef. The beef was juicy and tender and the pho’s broth was so savoury and comforting. Would be coming back for the pho!“

“Tiny shop. There are a couple tables but not enough for a typical lunch crowd. Packed with toys and candy and knick-knacks. Quick service when it was just me there, quicker than other places.
It is the standard sized roll you see in this area for Vietnamese sandwiches.
And... the price was great. For less than any other places in the area although maybe a tiny bit lighter on the fillings. Didnt bother me, still was a much better value than any place I've been to in years.“

“This is the best pho I have eaten since I worked in the peace core in Vietnam. The broth is delectable. The meat is succulent the veggies add a fresh crunch and aroma that you just can’t get at other local pho restaurants in the area. The pricing is affordable. The portions are mega. If you get the large and I honestly wish that I could dispense the broth out of my nipples because then I would have the delicious taste of Pho long Thinh with me at all times. Just get the #2 large bowl of pho, and thank me later.“

“Old school pho, bun, hu tieu, cha gio (sorry no accents). Welcoming place, you are seated quickly and food brought to your satisfaction. The beef pho is a nice broth kind of a mix of Northern and Southern flavors, you can request nuc beo (beef skimmed fat) to add a richer flavor. There are also different beef cuts to choose. We like the egg roll (cha gio) comes with lettuce and mint for a great texture. My sister likes the rice dishes. Parents like the pho brought home to them and will take a couple of days to finish. Service is always kind and efficient.“

“We discovered this gem by accident while passing by on a road trip, and oh, it was incredible.
You get so much value for any dish you order. The Bun Bo Hue with the short rib was so tender, the meat simply fell off the bone! The bone was about 10 inches long too .Their broth is also super flavorful, probably because of the fermented fish they add into it.
The pho was tasty on every level, and the tripe and tendon were super soft too. We could barely finish our bowls.
Service was quick and friendly, especially our server Yen. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
We will definitely show up again!“

“I’ll call this the best Pho restaurant in South Bay. I tried most of Pho places from Palo Alto to south San Jose, and it is the best. Not only the noodle was cooked just right, they give a lot more beef than other places. It’s really satisfying to finish a no.1 bowl here.“

“My friend took me here and I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the pho is!!! I ordered a small #3, and even though it was a small it was filling, and only 1 more dollar up if you want a large. The broth had so much flavor and now this is one of my favorite pho places! Additionally I like that I can see the East side mountains from there. It felt peaceful.“

“I went to Vietnam for vacation and deeply missed the food I had but specifically bo ne. I think this is one of the only places in the Bay that offers this dish! It’s cash only ($21 per order) so come prepared but there is an ATM machine if you forget. Service takes a little while (~20-25 mins) because everything is made to order and there’s only 1 cook. The steak is cooked to your preference and is absolutely scrumptious. The pate and egg are top notch too. Comes with baguette, tea, and a salad as well. Located in a food court with a bunch of other restaurants too!“

“Your local, not-so-hidden gem. If you're into fresh tofu, soy milk, or legit viet snacks, Hung Vuong Tofu is the spot.
Tucked away in an unassuming plaza in San Jose, this place is small but always busy and for good reason.
This no frills spot is basically a grab and go. The service is fast and efficient but don't expect an amazing atmosphere and sit down vibes. This is not what the spot is about.
Their house made tofu is amazing. The silken tofu is sooooo silky. The fried tofu is crispy on the outside and custardy on the inside. Don't forget to grab soy milk, as well.
Overall, this is a great spot to get your tofu and soy milk in San ose.“

“I originally wanted to try a different pho spot, but the line was way too long so I decided to give Pho This Way a try instead — and I’m glad I did. The food was surprisingly really good, especially the pho. Their broken rice is also a must try. Great flavor, good portions, and fast service. Definitely coming back“

“This Vietnamese restaurant has been owned by the same family for decades, and it's clear they take pride in their craft. The staff is warm, attentive, and consistently provides great service. Their menu is diverse and full of memorable high-quality dishes; I've been enjoying their pho bo for nearly 2 decades back when this place was across from Santa Row. The restaurant is well-maintained with a beautiful walled zen garden visible from the restaurant interior whose scenery changes with the seasons. Central location, easy parking, tasty food and good quantity for the price - consider my family and I regulars.“

“Walked in hungry and left genuinely impressed. The place has that easy, comfortable vibe where you immediately feel like you made the right call, and the welcome was warm without being over the top. We were a little slow deciding, and nobody rushed us—which I appreciated, because I take menu decisions very seriously.
Every plate that came out looked like the kitchen actually cares, and the service stayed friendly and attentive the whole meal. I was already mentally planning my next visit before we finished paying, which is about the highest“

“This place recently changed owners. Its good again after like 10 years. Big huge bowl of pho $15, lots of meat and good flavor. Noodles have good chew.
Che and coffee $4 each, nothing wrong with it! Thats how you know everywhere else ripping you off. Come again! So happy there's good pho nearby again.“

“December 2025 - BEST Bún Chả in the Bay Area. This iconic grilled pork dish, a specialty from North Vietnam, can be found at this family run counter in the Lion Plaza Food Court.
I only come here for my Grilled Pork with rice noodle and fresh herbs. Their special Fish Sauce is what makes this dish so good. Together with the grilled pork aroma, the sauce brings out a deep and sweet harmony in every bite.
For an authentic taste of Vietnam Northern cuisine, this is the place to go to.“

“Been wanting to try this spot for the longest but feel like I would be let down because Nam Vang on Alvin is elite and always a sj staple. Eventually gave it a shot because my brother went give his opinion. Came on a Monday around 5pm. No one in sight... we were the only ones there, which wasn't a good sign, service was great though.
Overall clean and your standard Vietnamese restaurant.
To the food! Man the #1 was honestly as good or little better than nam vang. I did it with broth today since my body needed some thing soupy from the weekend. Meat was very tender, soupy was cleansing my soul, and a lot of flavor from the dried shrimp and ground pork. Chinese donut was fresh it felt like. Only thing the meatball was not sticking together as much as I like (I like Nam vang meatballs better)
Glad I have this place a shot. Probably will go here again soon to try the non broth one.
Also heard it could be same family as owner of Nam Van, which would make sense.
I don’t understand why this place not busy. Maybe location issue. Feel like restaurants there don’t get enough foot traffic“

“There was a good selection of vegetarian dishes which my family and I enjoyed. The vegetarian rice plate was not too oily and salty, with a generous serving of broccoli, carrots, cabbage, celery, cilantro, onions and tofu. The vegetarian pho had similar ingredients, with an additional side dish of bean sprouts and basil. We will be back next time to try their Bahn Mi. This looks like a family run business with friendly service.“
“-The ribs are delicious. The fish sauce is liquid gold!
-The coffee should come in double the size for the price. It's good Vietnamese coffee.
-The tamarind drink is a really weird untasty flavor with peanuts. I do not recommend it. If you buy it and you do not like it, you can't send it back. I wish they allowed me to exchange it for a coffee.
- bottom line is the rib dish is the best!“

“A homey family-run restaurant that does a solid Hu Tieu Mi Trieu Chau. Definitely get it dry with broth on the side if it’s your first time.
They are generous with meats, fried shallots, and crispy pork fat. Chinese donut can be a bit more crispy, but take leftovers home and airfry them! Please come support them - they’re making great food here.“

“So glad they’re open early. It’s a perfect spot for a comforting bowl of pho to start the day. The broth is rich and flavorful; you don’t need to add a thing. I also love the complimentary tea and the full set of condiments — even culantro, which is such a nice touch. Simple, delicious, and done right!“

“Been going to this place for years!! The food is great and the staff has been greeting us in the same wonderful fashion. Food is served promptly and hot!! The flavor is amazing.
My gripe is that the place is a bit dirty. The floor is kind of greasy from spilled food and the sills could use a wipe down.“

“Delicious Vietnamese deli with tons of options. If you're craving a banh mi, this is a great option with almost no line most of the time. There's also a promo going on with the boba store that opened right nextdoor where you get free drinks if you spend a certain amount at Huong Lan.“

“Best value and banh canh in san jose. Those of you who aren’t familiar with this dish, it is a a udon noodle Vietnamese soup. It’s a thicker broth than pho and comes with different meat options , like seafood, pork bones, pork blood etc. I love it with fried fish and pork. I’m salivating just thinking about this even though it’s 100 degrees out.“

“I really enjoyed my visit to Oc Lau Nuong Restaurant. The seafood was fresh, especially the grilled oysters and hot pot, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was lively and perfect for eating with family or friends.
The service was friendly, but it took a little longer than expected to get our food during a busy time. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back to try more dishes.“

“If I’m in the mood for Pho or a Banh mi, this is the first place I head to. The broth of the pho is rich, flavorful and has clearly been simmering for hours. The Banh mi are made with the correct crunchy French bread, giving you a real substantial sandwich to wrap your lips around. The vegetables are always super fresh and crunchy too.“
