“My first visit to Mikiya was shortly after they opened. The food and service were decent, but a 45-minute wait past our reservation time left a bad taste, figuratively speaking. I wasn't sure I'd be back.

I'm glad I gave it another shot. This time we came to celebrate a visiting friend, and Mikiya more than delivered. The menu has noticeably improved, we were seated promptly, and our server Zac was the kind of hospitality professional who makes a meal memorable. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing, his recommendations were spot on and genuinely elevated the whole experience.

“This is the best pan-fried soup dumpling I’ve had in the Bay Area. The xiao long bao have thicker skins, and while I personally prefer the thinner ones from Din Tai Fung, these still have plenty of soup and aren’t bad. The dumplings, mushroom pork buns, chicken pan-fried dumplings, and spicy beef hotpot were all solid and tasty, though not particularly outstanding. The scallion bun is packed with scallions, making it a must-try for scallion lovers. Overall, the food was delicious, and I’ll definitely visit again.“

Our assumptions were correct. There’s a lot of things that set this place apart from others. We noticed the pork katsu was made in house. Most places just use the frozen one distributed by the same vendor but not this place. We also noticed most of the sauces were self made as well. Katsu sauce, salad dressing and salsa seemed made in house. Everything except the ketchup packet. I’ll be going back to place to try their breakfast menu, sandwiches, and hamburger. “Newly discovered Korean fried chicken place .. it was amazinggggg!!!! I had chicken wings for two back to back days from here..

I tried three flavors and all were great. The second day I ended up ordering some drums too which were a hit with my kid.. we got the soy garlic, the Korean BBQ and Yangnyeom. There is a subtle difference between all three of them so I honestly didn’t know which was which while eating them but can honestly say that ALL of them tasted incredible.

The lady who prepped my order was incredibly sweet and really helped me get my order ready. She even helped me get the right sauce as well as clean it up when it got messy. I know I am gonna be ordering from here soon over and over again!“

We get the bento boxes with teryaki chicken, California rolls, and sashimi (tuna or salmon) the miso soup is great and the salad with that delicious dressing is perfect.
