“Iraklis Restaurant is a nice casual spot in Santa Clara for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, especially if you like shawarma, grilled meats, fresh sides, and strong garlic flavors. The dining room is fairly small, but it has a cozy, colorful feel, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful if you are not familiar with some of the dishes.

The Damascus-style shawarma is probably the most interesting thing to try. The chicken version comes with garlic spread, pickles, Syrian-style seasoning, and a little pomegranate molasses, which gives it a sweet-tangy flavor. The lamb shawarma is also popular, and the plates come with rice, hummus, salad, pickled turnips, and tahini. Other good choices include beef kofta, shish tawook, falafel, lentil soup, baba ghanouj, kibbeh, and zaatar or cheese manakeesh.

I also like that they have a few items you do not see everywhere, such as Armenian sujuk sandwiches and Turkish desserts like baklava and Turkish delight. The food usually comes out fairly quickly, which makes it a good option for lunch or a casual dinner.

The main downside is that some people feel the portions can be inconsistent for the price, and a few dishes seem to vary depending on the day. Still, the menu has plenty of variety and the flavors are more interesting than a typical fast-casual Mediterranean place.“

“We ordered the house combo and it was very tasty. It came with 4 meats(chicken,beef,gyro ,koftedes). All of the meat was juicy,tender and well seasoned. The rice. was fluffy ans delicious. The mixed green salad had tomatoes amd cucumber and was topped with a pickled cabbage and dressed to perfection. I only had a small bite of the pita because rhe meal was so filling. I can't wait to try the baklava we ordered. What a great find. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant.“

We were here from out of town in the Central Valley and the reviews were very good so we took a chance and we were very happy. The grocery store itself was amazing. “Had a wonderful, fresh breakfast and a nice dinner at the restaurant in The Westin in Palo Alto. The breakfast I chose was the bar which included eggs, bacon, potatoes, and French toast. Cereal, coffee, OJ, and toast was available as well a 8 varieties of fruit.For dinner, I started with the cheese plate and finished with the Soleil Burger with Gilroy fries. Long Islands were outstanding. The cheese plate was excellent and served with toast. The burger was cooked to perfection with bacon and cheddar.“

This is an authentic experience with great Egyptian hospitality and a wide array of delicious options on the menu, including vegetarian and vegan. The seating area is clean and well taken care of. Tea and water are complimentary. The attached supermarket is also well stocked and maintained. The owner/host is very welcoming and helps with ordering. The kitchen staff is also very friendly and easy to communicate with. We’ll be bam to try the Egyptian breakfast they offer all day on Saturdays and Sundays.“
