Food hygiene is concerning. We got seats at the counter. Within 5min after sitting down, we saw a cockroach crawling on the bar table and then to a bottle. The waiter simply took away the bottle and didn’t even sanitize the table. We left without ordering.

Food was decent but when the bill came, the server notified me that there is a credit card surcharge. The bill never said that it is cash only price nor does it indicate about the credit card surcharge. I never saw any notices anywhere in the restaurant about this. This is very shady and I’m very disappointed. Definitely will not come here anymore.

This location has the same or similar menu with the one in Mountain View. However, it seems that they may use the same recipes but some differences in way of cooking. We like them both ways. We started with a garlic green salad, and it's such a tasty salad! The dressing is so flavorful and the crispy garlic chip gives such a good kick to it. We ordered a today special of toro sashimi and it just melted in your mouth. We also had a pan saute black cod and that is also amazing! For the dessert, both lava cake and the green tea creme brule were worth the calories.

Still a cute place but service and food quality a bit lower than we remember from previous years visits. Server missed our miso with CLAMS request and just brought regular miso and then didn't offer to correct. Pizza was surprisingly tasty.

Another fantastic meal at Gochi! We shared a varied selection of classic Japanese preparations and a couple of creative fusion items (kimchi and beef pizza). Everything was very fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The hamachi sashimi plate and braised beef tongue were particular stand outs. The sake sampler was also very good. Attentive service - we'll be back!

Be careful! They will charge you an extra 4% if you use a credit card. This is completely hidden and not mentioned to you beforehand. Total scam. I wouldn’t have found out about it if one of the diners didn’t stand up and shout about it. I’m very grateful for her.

Gochi uses deceptive pricing. The menu price is not what you end up paying — if you pay by card, they quietly add an extra 4% on top of both the menu price and your tips. It feels intentionally misleading. Please double-check your bill before paying.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after multiple unpleasant experiences, I feel it’s necessary to share. Each time we’ve visited this restaurant, the front desk lady has been consistently rude and dismissive. From the moment we walked in, her attitude made us feel unwelcome, and it’s happened more than once — so it’s clearly not just a bad day.
It’s disappointing because the food is good, but the front desk experience overshadows everything. Hospitality starts at the door, and this kind of attitude is unacceptable. We hope the management takes this seriously and improves the customer service at the front.

This was my first time back in maybe 10 years and it will probably be another 10 before we come back.
