Went in tonight to grab a couple of donuts. Ended up buying three donuts and still left a 15% tip, even though all the older Asian woman did was put them in a paper bag and ring us up.
When I walked in, I said hello and asked how she was doing in a loud, clear voice but no response. I tried again, and she finally said “fine.” We placed our order, and I specifically asked for a maple braided donut. When we sat down, I noticed she gave me a small maple round donut instead.
I went back to the counter, but she had disappeared. I said “hello” and “excuse me” twice before she came back. I explained that I had asked for the maple braided donut. She looked confused and kept saying “huh?” while I repeated myself three times.
She then said the braided donut costs more and that she would have to charge me the difference which was a $1. I said that was fine at first, but then remembered I had already left more than that in a tip. Considering the rude and dry attitude, I told her to just let me keep the donut she already put in the bag because I wasn’t paying extra after tipping more than the price difference.
She didn’t seem to care and walked away to the back again.
Overall, the service was rude, unprofessional, and disappointing. Having a customer not come back and write a review because you wanted to be stingy is so odd. The donuts are so eh anyway. Idk what it is with donut shops in San Jose but the service is so off, man.

Haven’t been in at least 8 years, but I loved this place. Going back to California next summer and can’t wait to go back and get the #3 with a coffee. I hope they still give away the two little donut holes with the sandwich too.

Tried the maple donut and was very soft and fresh as opposed to the apple fritter, which tasted cold and hard. Overall, would try again and carefully choose!
