The food was good. It was busy the night we went on a Thursday night.

We enjoyed the food. You might need to share table with other parties.

Overpriced and overly crowded. But the bay area is not short of people with both money and time so their business is quite good.

Food is good flavor if you don't mind the small portion (i.e. why it's overpriced). You can spend $30 per person but still not completely full.

Such a hype. We ordered 5 dishes and really can’t say we liked any of them. Hardly serviced, and cold, if any.

We came to Ping’s Bistro for a weekend lunch and were completely blown away by the vibrant flavors, beautiful presentation, and high-quality ingredients. The restaurant offers authentic Yunnan and Dai-style Chinese cuisine — dishes that are aromatic, balanced, and full of depth without being overly heavy.

We ordered a mix of dishes to share:
• Dai Style Deep-Fried Pork Ribs – Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, perfectly seasoned with a hint of lemongrass. The dipping sauce was tangy and refreshing, cutting through the richness of the pork. A must-order appetizer!
• Fried Rice with Boletus, Green Pepper & Beef – One of the best fried rice dishes we’ve ever had. Each grain was infused with wok hei and balanced beautifully with earthy mushrooms and mild heat from green peppers.
• Stir-Fried Chayote Leaves with Dried Chili Peppers – Fresh, tender greens stir-fried to perfection with garlic and dried chili. Simple, clean, and full of natural flavor.
• Signature Grilled Fish with Lemongrass – The star of the meal. The fish was grilled to a beautiful char and topped with fragrant herbs, garlic, lime, and chili. The lemongrass aroma elevated the dish to another level — spicy, citrusy, and deeply satisfying.
• Sautéed Black Termite Mushroom, Maitake, Cordyceps Flower Velvet – A rare treat! The mix of mushrooms gave layers of texture — chewy, soft, and crisp — with an earthy umami flavor.
• Country-Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus – Homestyle comfort at its best. The soft eggs and wood ear mushrooms soaked up the sauce beautifully, creating a rich, balanced bite every time.
• Sautéed Beef with Pickled Mustard – Tender beef slices paired with tangy mustard greens and red peppers — a bold yet harmonious flavor combination.

Every dish came out piping hot, beautifully plated, and perfectly portioned for sharing. The flavors were authentic, and the seasoning was carefully balanced — not too oily or salty.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is calm and modern, with large windows that bring in plenty of natural light. Service was attentive and efficient; our server helped us select dishes according to our spice preference (“less spicy”) and ensured we had a smooth dining experience.

For anyone who loves discovering regional Chinese cuisines beyond the usual Cantonese or Sichuan offerings, Ping’s Bistro is a must-visit. It’s perfect for group dining or a casual yet refined family meal.

- Favorite dishes: Dai-style pork ribs, grilled lemongrass fish, boletus beef fried rice.

- Spice level: Adjustable – just ask for “less spicy” if you prefer mild.

- Portion: Generous and great for sharing.

Highly recommended — this place deserves way more attention in Cupertino’s dining scene!

This place has really gone downhill, FAST. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. The lunch and weekend crowd would spill out the door for yards into the parking lot. Not any more. Not even close. We went there for lunch during the peak hour and the restaurant was hardly full. Guess what? They serve you the infamous pre-made food 预制菜 (likely imports from China not regulated in any shape or form by the local health department). Our order arrived within a couple of minutes, obviously microwave-heated with lukewarm inside. The waiter served us the wrong order and refused to change. When I got home, I had diarrhea. Sadly we will never come back again.

Went there on a Monday at 1 PM, and the parking was no bad. No waiting on line either. The food was fairly good, but quite salty for my plain taste buds. They served our dishes so quickly that we even wondered if the food were precooked or what. The service was nice and friendly. The waiters told us this the only site that has no female service staff, as the work load is fairly demanding. Well, I can sense their well deserved pride.
It's a bit noisy for me, as the landscape outside of the window is really nice. Sincerely wish the patrons can lower their voices and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere more.

Their food is very solid and it's tasteful definitely one of the best in the area - a little bit on the pricy side though.

We ordered the stir fried chayote leaves, the sauteed boletus + maitake mushrooms, lemongrass grilled fish. All dishes were amazing and really flavorful!

Dishes taste very good, offers less popular Yunnan cuisine plus other more popular Chinese dishes. Servers are attentive and foods are quick to the table. But it can get very busy at lunch or dinner time, and parking space is limited.

Usually there is a waiting line to get in for dinner around 5:00 PM. They only let you go in when all your party has arrived.

Please do NOT come here as you will only add to the parking shortage and cry all because the food and service is so amazing, as good as any Chinese food in China not Chinese food outside of China. This joint is my fav Chinese food from SoCal to NorCal, to Manhattan to Flushing.
