Authentic Shanghainese food. Steamed dumplings and pan fried dumplings were both excellent. As good as our home town Shanghai. Fish fillet and vinegar veggie soup was our favorite. Looks like a whole fish was used. Very tasty even in the non spicy form. This is a large portion for 4 or more people. Very satisfied and happy with services. Will come back often to try all their dishes. Alot to chose from.

Was able to get a table easily for table for 3 on a weekday night. Especially live its tasty squirrel shaped mandarin fish. Highly recommend you to try it out!

⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had a great meal at Shanghai Bun Dynasty and was especially impressed by a few standout dishes. The fish head soup was rich and comforting, with a deep, savory broth that tasted slow-simmered and full of flavor. The tofu soaked up the soup beautifully, and the fish was tender without being overly fishy.
The kaofu was another favorite — perfectly braised, slightly sweet, and savory with that signature spongy texture that absorbs all the sauce. It felt authentic and well-balanced.
The beef flank was tender and flavorful, cooked just right with a nice balance of soy-based seasoning and subtle spices. It paired really well with rice.
Service was efficient and the food came out hot, though it can get busy and a bit loud during peak hours. Overall, a solid spot for Shanghainese comfort food — I’d definitely come back to try more dishes.
Excellent service by the young waiter, Zai Zai. Five stars.
Taste is authentic Shanghai.
However, the food quality would be 4* at best.
XLB average and not DTF quality.
Totally disappointed with the pork belly as the meat was dry.
Reasonable place to grab a bite and maybe other dishes would be better.

The fried pork buns were the best thing we ordered. The rest are just ok. Great selection though. A bit salty for my taste. Service was accommodating.

I really wanted to give this place a chance, even though my Shanghainese friends all warned me it sucks. Turns out, there were no surprises. The food was incredibly oily and lacked any real flavor. The biggest disappointment was the 糍饭糕 (Deep-fried Rice Cake)—it was fried so hard it was literally impossible to bite into, and they clearly forgot the salt entirely. It didn't feel like authentic Shanghainese cuisine at all. The only highlight was the service, which was actually quite attentive, but the kitchen simply doesn't deliver.

They double charged me. Fortunately, I have the receipt to proof to my credit card company and get my money back.

The Shanghai cuisine here is absolutely delicious. The flavors are clean, comforting, and perfectly balanced, just like authentic home-style Shanghainese food. The soup is light yet deeply savory, with fresh greens and tender meat that feel nourishing rather than heavy. Simple ingredients, done right — you can really taste the care and tradition behind the cooking. I’d definitely come back for more.
