Located inside the grocery store. Not a bad spot to pick up some pastries after grabbing groceries. Your run-of-the-mill Chinese bakery spot (not a bad thing!). Decent selection of Chinese and western baked goods. They do cakes as well!

First time here. Wanted some Asian sponge cake and unfortunately their triangle sponge cake and tiger skin sponge cake were too sweet in my opinion. I couldn’t even finish a small piece. The Portugueses egg tart was very oily compare to some places I usually visit.Overall mediocre at best.
Terrible bread
Friends of ours brought this cake over to our dinner party. It was amazing! So light and delicious. I love that it was not so sugary and not too sweet. It was the chestnut chiffon cake- perfect for the holiday season!
Hours are wrong. Opens at 10am and is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
I have been using this store for a long long time, never expected a birthday cake stolen. I ordered the cake by phone on Wednesday and paid with credit card. I got a picture of the receipt. On Saturday I had my family to pick up the cake. He was told it’s already picked up by someone else. My family had to purchase another one (which was not the one I wanted) so we could have a birthday cake. It turned out someone stole the receipt from the store which I didn’t have to pick up the cake. When I told the store manager about it, she couldn’t give me the refund nor give me a cake because someone already picked it up. She would rather have her truthful customer take the lose. I was told this thing never happened. Well, if you don’t do something to prevent it from happening again, it will happen again since the thief didn’t have any consequences. Lock up your paid receipt please. Don’t leave it in a place that anyone who comes in can take a picture or steal the receipt. I suggest you don’t prepay your order. Your order can be stolen here. The store owner/manager gave me two piece of their pastries as an apology at the end. Thanks for that gesture but I wanted my cake! Sorry, you are losing at least one customer. I give three stars because they did pay effort to help me to find out what went wrong.Update: The store owner called me back after a day and admited they are responsible for this problem. She promised me a free cake next time with a condition that I buy some other products they make when I pick it up. Sure, no problem. I appreciate her reconsideration of this issue and trying to make her customer happy. I will go back to the store and continue to be their customer. I do wish this problem will never happen again to any of their customers. Changing the rating to 5 stars.
I heard that this location was fake but it's definitely real. Just left of the entrance inside Marina Food.
Not sure why the bad reviews. But I stopped here because it was the only thing opened. And I am so glad I did. It smelled so good. The pork buns are amazing and I got an onion Bun and I now will crave and want that onion Bun all the time.

I've been coming here since I was in Junior High! That was over 20 years ago. While located inside the Marina Foods Supermarket, they operate independently.During the pandemic, Sheng Kee has been a savior, as I've stocked up on Coconut/Raisin Buns, Egg Tarts, Portuguese Custard Tarts (my favorite), Beef Curry Horn, Chicken Pie, and Tiramisu. Compared to all of the bakeries nearby and all the latest trendy bakeries, Sheng Kee has the best prices, by far!
They are not very good at sweet dessert and pastries but doing good job in savory pastries and white bread! Try their BBQ pork hot pastries and curry puff, delicious and cheap. $1.85 per piece. You gotta eat it warm, the butter crust is addictive.
Their pork sung bread is very close to what you get in Taiwan. Bbq port, curry beef, turnip pastry are also very good. They also have quite a few other sweet selections include cookies and cakes. It’s located inside Marina Chinese grocery store so pick up something after you do your shopping.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I bought some walnut cookies here on sep 13, came home, took a bite tasted DISGUSTING, looked on the back, they EXPIRED 5 DAYS AGO!!! They put EXPIRED merchandise on the shelves hoping people won't notice!!
There were two short hairs in the pulled pork roll :(
