Arrived at 8:30 pm with me and my husband but we were told they were close already. Their website says 9pm. I guess you better correct your website and put a 30 minutes before closing notice. We traveled from Sta Cruz and this is what we got into.
The plate doesn't stay hot long enough to cook the meats

Great food especially the takoyaki, but not filling enough for the price imo. Maybe I’m just big backed haha

Good food in fun environment. Nice choices. A little more education about the process would have helped. I am older so the all automated menu was a bit off putting. However thevteam helped. A little bland in flavor. I would return. Check it out.

Satisfying, but I wish the portions for toppings and meat were a little bigger compared to the amount of rice provided.
The presentation of the food was quite impressive. Sadly, it tasted a bit blander than it looked. Thankfully the sauces provided helped a lot.

To management of Sizzling Lunch:
Some time between June and October 2024, you changed your dining room's ordering system. You removed all tablets from the tables, where one could order food, and now expect customers to order food from their own phones. This is an annoyance I could overlook, except for the fact that the ordering system is by a company called ToastTab, which requires:
1) Have to enter one's personal phone number.
2) Have to accept their terms of service, which contain a binding arbitration clause.
This is unacceptable. As a paying customer, I just want to order food and pay for it. I should not be required to enter any personal information, and give up my rights and privacy just because the menu says so. Your staff submitted the order using the on-site tablet, which defeats the whole purpose.
Food and service were good, except for this major problem. Get rid of these terms, and bring back a better ordering system.

I got delivery of Sizzling Lunch because they have a low delivery fee and it was a great decision to do so! I got the Kurobata Pork Belly Pepper Rice and it was so good and fresh. The dish came with 3 different proportioned sauces. There was a soy sauce, a chilli sauce, and a sweet sauce. They had given me as much of each sauce that I need to put into the dish to make it tasty and not did it taste good. The dish itself was pretty simple with rice, corn, peas, and pork belly but when paired with the flavorful sauces it became that much better. The price wasn’t exorbitant as it was $18 and it filled me up for dinner. The delivery was fast as well. Other than their being a little less pork belly that I would have liked the dish was AMAZING. I definitely recommend Sizzling Lunch to others and I will be coming again for a quick bite.

Great for a quick and casual meal! Everything comes on a sizzling hot iron cast plate and you cook the protein yourself. My recommendations are the garlic beef pepper rice and Kimchi beef pepper rice. I usually add soy miso, shichimi togarashi, and black pepper for more flavor. Careful not to add too much at once and mix as you go. Enjoy!

I'm glad that I tried this restaurant.
The only reason I would go back again is if one of my friends wanted to go there.
The prices of the entrees were quite high, while the quantity of the food was pretty minimal.
As a family of five with kids aged 8-12, the fit was pretty decent for all of us. However, the sizzling plates lacked flavor, so be sure to use plenty of the sauces provided on the table. On the bright side, their fried chicken is a true gem.
Kid-friendliness: No kids menu, but can work for kids

I didn't know anything about this place before going, but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the food would come sizzling as per the name, but I didn't realize the meat would come raw. That being said, the garlic rice with beef was delicious. The kim chee was pretty good too. I would have appreciated a separate set of utensils for cooking the meat, but they brought me one when I asked. But everything tasted fresh and came quickly

Lanterns seem to be a standard feature at Sizzling Lunch, and guests can order through iPads on the table, which is quite convenient. The fried chicken is also delicious and worth coming again. Simple seasoning for easy self-service.
