A Symphony of Flavors

Now, let’s talk about the food—Yayoi Cupertino truly excels in delivering a symphony of flavors that transports you straight to Japan. Each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with fresh ingredients and meticulous attention to detail.

Start your culinary journey with their signature Yayoi Bento, a vibrant platter that features a delightful assortment of sushi, sashimi, and tempura. The sushi is fresh and expertly rolled, with each piece bursting with flavor. The rice is perfectly seasoned, providing a fantastic balance to the fish, which is sourced daily to ensure top quality.

Don’t miss out on their ramen, which is a comforting bowl of rich broth that simmers for hours to achieve that deep umami flavor. The noodles are perfectly chewy and the toppings—including succulent chashu pork, fresh greens, and soft-boiled eggs—make for a fulfilling meal.

Vegetarians will find plenty to love as well, with options like the vegetable tempura, which features a light, crispy batter that allows the natural flavors of the vegetables to shine through. It’s a dish that’s as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate.

To top it all off, their matcha cheesecake is a must-try dessert that beautifully marries the earthiness of matcha with a creamy texture, leaving your taste buds dancing with delight.

A Dining Experience to Remember

Yayoi Cupertino is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary experience that leaves a lasting impression. The combination of an innovative ordering system and exceptional cuisine creates an environment where food lovers can truly indulge. Whether you’re dining with friends, family, or on a romantic date, every visit promises to be an unforgettable journey through Japanese flavors.

It was my first visit and I ordered their main recommended $32 wagyu beef sukiyaki and when it arrived what I saw disappointed me. The beef was not sliced thin. It was sliced chinese stir fry style and being boiled in the sweet soy sauce broth it became chewy and tough. I felt like I was being lied to with marketing phrases like teishoku. It was obvious there is no self respecting Japanese chef in the kitchen. To add insult to injury , when the next door table had done eating a staff member came to clean up with some household chemical disinfectant spray which nauseated me. Not sure I will go back to try the eel, the other thing I wanted to taste.

The food is fine. But the price gets me each time. Yayoi is kind of “cafeteria” type eatery in Japan so I don’t know why it’s x2-x3 the price here for same, if not lower quality, food here.

Whenever I crave Japanese tonkatsu, this is the place that comes to mind. The crispy tonkatsu, paired with the sauce and freshly ground sesame seeds, is incredibly fragrant and authentic. I’m really happy to have found such delicious tonkatsu here in the U.S.
As for the salmon don, it wasn’t as enjoyable—it had a strange bamboo-like taste that overpowered the freshness of the salmon. I’ll probably skip the salmon don next time, but I’ll definitely come back for the tonkatsu.

Had a hair in my food, you have order from a tablet, had no contact with server from the time I sat down to the time the food came.. so why 5 stars? The food. Absolutely amazing - perfect portions, presentation, preparation, flavor - HIGHLY recommend the Yayou Gozen. Definitely will be back.

MSG ramen soup , only 1 piece of thinly sliced pork …..not worth it . I am just going to buy the freezer ramen packages from Asian grocery store , it will taste the same
