Husband and I had a date night, and enjoyed El Zarape on Katella in Cypress. Food was great , service was great and loved the outside patio w/ fire pits. Highly recommend this restaurant. ENJOY 😊

Love going here to eat. The food is one of the best, if not the best Mexican style food you can find. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Mexican food. But I won't, because it is so popular now it will mean a longer wait time for us.
Parking: Its all great food!
Wheelchair accessibility: It is often crowded but room for wheelchairs and walkers.

Miss the old place, but this is just as good. Only wish they had a better waiting area instead of standing by the restrooms

The service was excellent. We were seated right away, and our drink orders were immediately taken.
Food came out fast, and during our meal time, our drinks were constantly refreshed.
The food looked mexican but had absolutely no flavor whatsoever.
The salsa was the only thing with flavor.

If you like good Mexican food and you have not yet dined at El Zarape in The Square in Cypress on Katella Avenue, then you are missing an amazing experience.
The food is terrific and the portions are large. I ordered the Burrito Enzarapado with Shredded Beef tonight and was amazed at the size of the burrito.
Furthermore, the staff is friendly, efficient and attentive. I always prefer eating at local establishments in the area when possible. This one is a winner. Give it a try!!!
Parking: My most recent experience was on a Friday night dinner at dinner time. I did find parking, but the lot was very busy.

This place was pretty good. Great salsa. Also accidentally watched a walk-off grand slam in an important game while eating.
The food wasn’t overly delicious or anything. It was just OK. I ordered Two chile Riano’s and I got separate plates for them for some reason ??? I didn’t ask for that. I asked for them together and ask for strawberry Margarita with a shot on the side But instead, they poured the shot inside to make it a Cadillac margarita , I guess . there was a couple flies.
when we first got there that we have a 45 minute wait it was way longer than that, and I was in line to get a table and the hosted passed me and another girl for a guy who had four people who was behind us and then when I saw her, I said I want a table and she’s like oh you do I said for two and then I said, and she’s not with me the woman behind me but she didn’t make any I’m sorry . She is a white girl. kind of blondish brown hair was pulled back. my husband went in and he found a seat at the bar And it was way way over 45 minutes until we got a text from them to come inside, and it really made me mad that that girl would pass me up and another woman that went to go to some guy who had four people in his group. Like the girl hostess should’ve said something and been like OK well, you have to move back because I miss these people who are in line. But did she say that or do that !! no!! And for my bill being how it was way over $50. I should’ve gotten better service from the bartenders. They should know how to do a strawberry margarita with a shot on the side when you order your dinner, they should know that it was just coming from me and put both of what I got on the same plate it was aggravating I have to say going here and I haven’t been here in months because the fly problem is just so extreme. But I wanted to see if it was better at 7 in the evening just two flies bothering me . I hate the bathroom situation where it’s anybody’s game there’s no gentleman or ladies. And now I see why. Real gentlemen and ladies don’t come here.

Horrible service. Food was cold didn't get my drinks had to ask twice for my drink and had to keep reminding them for my tortillas and when i asked to speak to a manager i was told they where not in. When leaving the hostess there was a laughing at how upset i was . and said "oh well" Never coming back horrible place.
The food is still lacking flavor, just bland Mexican food. When I was working, a lot of the female workers would bring in food for lunchtime, real Mexican food!! El Z missed the boat.......completely, but the new place is beautiful.

Absolute best Mexican food and best new restaurant in the area. Menu items from their 1st location are still available upon request like the cilantro shrimp. However their new halibut & salmon plates are so fresh and unique.
