The place is super small, and the little noisy, but the food was good and I appreciated the managers overseeing and having a conversation with the guest

Came to eat tonight around 5:00. We were sat promptly and served chips and salsa and water immediately. We ordered two special margaritas which were delicious. Our server took our order and the food came out quickly. The food is good and prices are reasonable but the reason for the 2 stars is because when we finished our food the table was cleared except for the drinks and chips and salsa which we were still eating and drinking the margaritas. Along came a man, which we think was the manager , and removed the chips and salsa. We were still munching on them. The proper thing would have been to ask if we were finished. So then the waiter brings the check, closed it out and we signed. We were still half way through the drinks and along comes this man again who grabs the check presenter and said "I'll give this to the server, see you tomorrow ". We couldn't believe how rude this man was. We felt like we couldn't even enjoy our drinks. I won't come back. There are other restaurants in town who appreciate their customers. This one clearly doesn't.

Carne Asada is my go to plate. Deviated and tried the carnitas, excellent choice as well.Kid-friendliness: We took all our screaming cheerleaders and they accomodated us.

Nice restaurant, good food. Fresh Mexican food which I think it is lacking a real Mexi flavor. Very clean and well decorated. Staff are gentle and polite. A good neigborhood restaurant which seem like most customer are very local who live near by. I am the only one that passing by, I felt so!

Local favorite. Everyone in Cypress & Los Al talks about this place. Amazing customer service always. I'm not a fan of their margaritas BUT I am a huge fan of their Palomas. After trying out a few dishes my recent go to dish is the El Zarape Arroz con Pollo. Highly recommend this dish and adding beans. They definitely changed their chips. Their salsa is good. The restaurant isn't big so it's always packed and you'll most likely have a wait. No outside seating.

We assumed arriving at El Zarape around 10AM we'd be the first diners to arrive. Boy were we wrong! By 10:10AM, all the tables were taken and people were lined up outside. It's a testament to the quality of food and service. The restaurant is well spaced out for guests to sit comfortably while eating. It notable that the dining room, restrooms, and tables were all clean and organized. Upon getting seated, you'll be greeted with chips and salsa. Which I must say are very good. I had the carne asada breakfast burrito, which has to be my new all time favorite. It's not overfilled with potatoes to make up for a lack of meat, it's well balanced. Compliment it with their salsa and you got a home run. From where I was sitting, I was able to watch the servers make their specialty margaritas and other drinks. Mind you, it was now about 10:30AM. The staff is constantly on their toes taking care of guests and clearing tables for all the waiting patrons outside. Thankfully there's both a huge parking lot and plenty of street parking. And just across the street is a park to walk off all the delicious food you just consumed.

I have lived in Cypress for over 29 years and have never been here. I came in with another family member and I was impressed. The first time I just ordered the bean and cheese burrito with red sauce and it was fantastic. I know simple but sometimes that's the best. The second time I ordered carnitas and they were prepared just right. It is a smaller restaurant so I only have gone during the day so can only assume there can be a wait at dinner time..
