The Vessels Club at Los Alamitos Race Course

Don’t bother coming here unless you want to deal with some of the rudest service imaginable. The old men who run the place act like they’re above you, as if you shouldn’t even speak to them — even though you’re the paying customer. Bring up an issue, and they’re instantly dismissive, annoyed, and make you feel like you’re out of line just for wanting something done correctly. Ask a genuine question, and they treat it as if it’s ridiculous for you to even ask.

On top of that, the environment is disgusting. You’ll constantly be surrounded by cigarette smoke and the strong smell of weed that you can’t escape, making the whole experience miserable.

I’ve never written a review in my life, but this place made me understand why people leave horrible ones. I honestly have no idea how this place has above 1 star. If I could give it zero, I would.

If you’re new to horse racing and want to feel welcomed, don’t come here. This place is not for genuine fans or newcomers — it’s only for the same bitter crowd that’s been hanging around here for decades. Everyone else is made to feel like they don’t belong.

And just as a side note: never order a Diet Coke or any soda here. It tastes absolutely awful, like they haven’t cleaned the soda lines in 50 years. It has that dirty, moldy aftertaste that makes you wonder if it’s even safe to drink.

Best place to enjoy watching your horses run at Los Al!

The food is always excellent! The waitress Hiedi is the best of the best! She’s a very attentive server and SO fun & personable that she makes me and my fiancé want to return weekly!

Being long time residents of Cypress, we had never appreciated what a wonderful, fun-filled place the Los Alamitos Race Track was until a neighbor organized a group outing there early last Saturday evening. It started with a fantastic dinner at Vessels where the quality of food was amazingly great and well-prepared. Top it all, the portions were very generous. Our dinner started with the house salad which was fresh and crisp. For entrees the steaks (ribeye and the daily special filet mignon)were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. A yummy apple cobbler rounded out a perfect meal. Service was solid. The beautiful setting sun and the quiet racetrack vista provided a superb backdrop. Then, as if on cue, the night quarter horse racing commenced. From the high vantage of our table, we had a panoramic view of the actions. We were also able to freely roam the clubhouse, paddock, winner circle and place bets! That's truly fantastic entertainment for us to experience first hand the thrilling excitement of live horse racing. It was an enjoyable, memorable outing.

Good food. I had the Double Pork chop with mashed potatoes & vegetables. Pork chop was very tender & juicy.

Nice area to stay out of the sun and watch races. Decent food, marginal service. Glassware wasn't clean, had lipstick on it when it came to our table and server handled straws with bare hands. No other issues.
