I always thought this place was a little pricy, but now it's out of control. I went on a Friday night around 5pm. Had one regular agave margarita and rancheros nachos with carne asada. After the tip, $49! Insane for nachos and one margarita. I can't comeback because it's just not justified for the price.

This place hits the nostalgia factor for me in big way. Growing up my parents would take me to similar family friendly Mexican spots in the east bay like this where they would serve a ladle full of beans and a small mountain of rice with all plates. The trifecta for my first meal here was a combination plate with enchiladas and tacos served with ground beef and shredded chicken.....I was in absolute bliss. Add into the mix great chips/salsa, guacamole and pitchers of margaritas and you've got a spot that clearly has some staying power. IMO places like this are incredible barometers of who you are as a person. There's literally nothing to not love about it and yet I read these reviews and laugh. People need to recognize it for what it is...an amazing greasy spoon Mexican restaurant. The fact you can walk to the beach from here and work off the meal and catch an amazing sunset....I will be back!

We ate here yesterday for my wife's birthday around 3pm. Our party was 8 adults and 3 babies under 2 years old. It wasn't crowded. We ordered our food and the wait wasn't long. For appetizers, we tried the chicken wings and chicken quesadilla. The wings were overcooked and small. The quesadilla was watery. When the waiter dropped off the appetizers, my wife asked him for some small plates. He gave her a funny look like he didn't want to be bothered. Did he expect us to use our napkins to eat on? The quality of the food just wasn't good. I ordered 3 chicken enchiladas with rice. The enchiladas were also watery. I don't know how this could be unless they were frozen. It just didn't taste good. My wife said her food was very bland especially the taco. Everyone else said their food was just okay. As for the service, the waiter doesn't come back to check on you or refill your water. He drops off your food and you don't see him again until he brings your check. One good thing about the waiter is that he tries to remember everyone's order, using his memory, without writing it down. It was a big order and he got almost all of it correct except for my daughter's food. Very good try though! Don't be fooled by the receipt. For a party of 6, they automatically charge the 18% gratuity to your bill but call it a "service charge" on the receipt. When they take your card and come back with the final receipt for you to sign, it has another line for you to add a tip. Not so fast Celia's, you already took your tip. Beware folks, a lot of restaurants have been using this trickery for some time now. For the amount of money I spent on bad food and terrible service, I'm not gonna give you another tip. I owe my wife another birthday dinner because this was very disappointing. It's safe to say this was last time spending money here.

Went to Celia's this past week and had the best experience! Isabella showed us great customer service throughout our entire visit! The food itself at Celia's was great as well, but we would like to give a shout out to Isabella, THANK YOU! We will be coming in again!

The service is okay they get your order fine but I have to beg them to get my check and even like that none of them bother to take my card a d charge me ! I guess they because they always empty and they want people in but that’s such a way to lose clientele. I accidentally left my card I guess and none of the 3-5 people working in the bother to let me know , I give them 2 stars cause the prices are expensive more than San Francisco and not a great quality and terrible service as if they don’t want you t ok come back and I am Latino myself!! So disappointed..

Go to when you need a heaping plate full of goodness. Was a favorite spot of my grandmothers and we make it a point to eat there in her honor and memory. Brink a healthy appetite!

Coming from SoCal I am always skeptical with Mexican food . Came with family and so glad they recommended this place. It's very rare a restaurant offers delicious food AND drinks. They nailed both. Portions are good. It was Winter and freezing but they did their best to find us a spot outside not to exposed and they made sure to crank up the heater. Loved the vibe. Definitely coming back.

Super racist the female bartender called my mom and I N***ge*s to her coworker in Spanish then proceeded to charge us an extra drink on our tab and requested we pay out for being "hostile".

My husband and I have eaten At Celia's twice recently. Although it had been a while, we were looking forward to a delicious meal. However, it turned out not to be that good. We were really disappointed, but we figured we just hit an off night, so decided to try it again tonight. Our meals were horrible. The rice was clumped, dry and tasteless. The tacos etc were tasteless and bland. My cheese enchilada was dry and barely chewable. The refried beans were good. But neither my husband nor I finished our meals. This was basically a repeat of our other meal so we will not be going back. Our waitress disappeared so we couldn't even tell her our concerns. Such a disappointment!
