Not that good to be honest. Paid $20 for a bbq mix plate and 1 katsu Masubi, the chicken was bland, the same chicken was used in the katsu, had the exact same bland taste.

Chicken katsu sandwich, spam musubi & steamed broccoli. This place had 4.3 stars on Google and I was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop. Very polite owners & food was delicious. Definitely recommend :-)

I came in to order food, but I also had to pee very badly. I have a genetic condition, vascular EDS type 4, which means my connective tissue, bladder, arteries, and organs can easily rupture, and if this happens, I cannot be stitched back together, as my flesh will continue to break apart. The man at the counter refused to let me use the bathroom. He said, 'customers only'. I told him that I intended to order, but it's an emergency, and I need to use the bathroom FIRST. He refused. I pleaded. He refused again. I didn't have time to argue further and ran off to a nearby restaurant, apologized because I had no intention of ordering food there. They said no, but that's fair. Out of necessity, I urinated in a nearby bush behind the building.I will never go to Hawaiin Drive Inn again...unless they change their policy and trust their customers. I admit, I didn't have time to explain my health issues, but that's also irrelevant and none of their business. Perhaps they've been lied to before, who knows, but they should give people the benefit of the doubt. If they change their policy and apologize, I'll delete this review.

Food is not presentable, the temperature of the food is not hot when I picked it up it was half cold and half hot. Picked it up immediately when I ordered straight from there, the taste of the food was over cooked I don't recommend this place when you can drive 2 miles to onohawaiian bbq instead. Their service is bad and they're not patient with customers. The place was small and there were no tables to sit in, it was take out only.

This place is used to be known for huge portions and serving size and my family has been regular customers since. Sadly, not the case anymore. Serving size has decreased dramatically with their pricing continue to rise. We're cutting ties, don't think we'll come back. Customers are not stupid and pretty sure others have noticed the change too. Hope management realizes the long term impact of being a typical nickle and dime joint.

Hawaiian Drive Inn isn't just a restaurant; it's a gathering place for families, friends, and anyone seeking a taste of Hawaii's vibrant culture. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, allowing you to savor your meal at your own pace, whether you choose to dine in or enjoy your meal in the comfort of your car.

We were craving some Hawaii bbq and this definitely satisfied us. The katsu was perfectly crisp and doesn't feel like it's all batter. The bbq chicken was marinated nicely and not too dry. I liked how the macaroni salad had a bite to it and was not soaked and overcooked like other places but my only complaint was that the macaroni salad did not have much flavor. It looked delicious with the pepper and the mayo but it needed just a touch of salt. Otherwise, this Hawaiian BBQ spot is definitely worthy to try out!

Good food, I don't know what it is with their Chicken Katsu though, sometimes it looks undercooked and sometimes it looks fineService is quick and timely, order feels like it comes in half the time they tell youThey only recently added TVs for their menus, place does feel clean but clearly old

Delicious food! We got the Saimin, Loco Moco, Kalua Pig, and BBQ Mix - super good! The saimin hit the spot!

Underrated place in my opinion:Their burgers are so flipping good. It doesn't matter which one, onions or without onions. Service is considerably fast and the ambience is nice and compact. There are tiny flying nats or flies but they aren't really a big issue

Hawaiian Drive Inn used to be really good. The fried fish plate $11.50 felt flimsy and the taste was missing good fried fish characteristics. For example, they used their tonkatsu breading. They should have chose a lighter flour batter with beer and sparkling water to make a nice, light, crispy piece of fish. The pieces were on the small and thin side, meaning I'm eating more batter than fish. A batter that I didn't care for. Service was fine.
