Dim sum just ok . Nothing special . I order Milky custard bun (流沙包). The server warmed me , it won’t look like the photo . Its so small and like the size of a golf ball . I think is the frozen ones from the super market. Will not go back. Tai Yuan Seafood Restaurant is so much better for dim sum .

Closed, renamed Ming Yuan. Closed and now called Ming Yudn. Food at Ming Yuan not any better than when called King Wah.

I have never had a worse experience anywhere in my life! Came here for dinner with my in-laws late last year (Nov 2018). My mother in law is a vegetarian and asked for vegetarian fried rice. They brought out the fried rice and it had egg in it. She informed the waitress that vegetarian means no egg and asked for them to take it back. The wait staff then started gathering around the table because our waiter refused to take the dish back and kept insisting that the dish had no meat. Finally, after 5-10 minutes of arguing they agreed to bring out vegetarian fried rice and not charge us for it. (I was like ok, maybe its a cultural thing - maybe my inlaws should have ordered something else) The rest of the food came out, it was okay. Lamb was good. Then we we go to pay the bill we did not leave a 20% tip, we left a 10% tip due to the argument over the fried rice. As we are leaving the waiter chases us down and starts yelling out that we did not pay our bill. We turn around and say "Uh the money is in there". The waiter insists that we are $10 short. So finally realizing the discrepancy, I said "the tip is optional". At this point the manager comes out and tries to insist that we pay the full 20% tip. The waiter actually starts trying to negotiate with us and asks for just $5. He even looks a bit scared of the manager who is yelling at him in Chinese. At this point he is begging for money and me and my family are sort of in shock. We keep insisting that the tip is optional and that we paid for the meal. Finally, we tell them to just call the cops if there is a real problem and we left. I am not sure what is more disturbing, the fact that their waiters were begging us for money or that they felt they had to.

San Mateo health dept. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN due to rodents! They continue to have the same disgusting kitchen behaviors they had 30 years ago even though this one's its 3rd renovation.

Why did this restaurant close?!?! Do they have another location nearby?

This is a regular place for us. I too went and saw it was closed with a sign it was for renovation. A little digging and found it was forced closed by the health department for rodents. This has been a problem at other places in Daly City. DBA/NAME: King Wah ADDRESS: 209 Southgate Ave, Daly City DATE OF CLOSURE: 2/25/19 REASON FOR CLOSURE: Violation #23: Presence of rodents

Excellent dim sum for this part of the city, however, it's closed for renovation. No prior notification for restaurant being closed.

The typical dim sums we tried were pretty good. Crowded on weekend. You order from the list or you can wait for the cart which I don't recommend unless you have all the time in the world and like everything in the cart.

Went here on a Saturday morning at 10am before the queue formed. Pretty good dim sum for the area & reasonably priced ($71 for 7 dim sum & a large pan fried noodles dish).

Reliable dim sum restaurant in Westlake. At this spot, you can simply order your items from a menu rather than wait for servers to come around to your table. I do prefer the traditional serving experience, but it's great getting all the items you're craving without having to wait! Definitely try new items to take advantage of the ordering system.

Awesome place for dim sum! Food is pretty decent and it's much better than a lot of other spots in the city. Parking is usually a bit harder on the weekends but there are a lot of spots around. There are different restaurants around the area and the library is right up the block too! I've been here once before for a wedding but absolutely did not remember how everything was. This may be one of the few dim sum joints in Daly City so I'm pretty sure majority of the residents do come here. This place has a good amount of tables and the service is quick and easy. Definitely my to go spot when I'm in Daly City!

If you wanna come on Saturdays, be prepared for a long wait. They sell newspapers so if you know how to read it, you can buy one to pass the time. Service is ok, food comes out fairly quickly. Word of advice, don't order the Xiao Long Bao.
