When visiting SF we would usually visit the North Beach location but decided on the Original Westlake location for easy access, parking & not worrying about car break in as we are on a road trip from NC to see National Parks & always loved SF. We are originally from Chicago, but nothing compares to the most beautiful state in the nation & imho SF, the greatest city in the USA. Love the 60’s/70’s decor! Very relaxing & makes you feel at ease & taken back in time. We had fried calamari & arancini with a bottle of Cabernet from Paso Robles. Excellent! For dinner I had veal Milanese & a side of broccoli rabe(rapini/baby broccoli) & my wife had eggplant parmigiana & a side of pasta. Excellent! Wife asked for more bread as it is impossible to get in NC & we ran out of the stuff from our bi-annual trips to Chicago to load up on foodstuffs to bring back home. The waiter even brought out a small butter cake with a candle on it for her birthday! Awesome! She even asked for some bread to go & we would pay. No charge. What’s great about OJ’s is some are dressed to the nines, others casual, & the older father & son next to us in work clothes. Took his Dad for the Prime rib dinner/mashed potatoes/creamed spinach dinner after 2:30pm. Looked delicious but we would need a nap afterwards. Great food, staff, service & decor! Joe's hosted a memorial for a beloved patron. They did a spectacular job stat to finish. the food, service and ambiance was all too notch!

This was the first time out of many experiences here the service was absolutely poor. Loved that we were able to sit before our reservation time at 8pm. Drinks and appetizers came out fast but when it came to our dinner it took over an hour and a half to get our food. It was a shame because the server said it was because they had a large check with a bunch of steaks on it. However, I was a waitress before and the cooks usually cook the food in the order the tickets come in. So we were extremely frustrated and disappointed in this times visit.

We are never disappointed when we come to Joe's, the food is the main attraction, delicious every time . The cocktails also delicious good balance of liquor , perfect. Even though it was busy our waiter was friendly and would make sure we lack nothing

I usually love this place but the last two times here my meal was over heat lamped. Everything was lukewarm and the French fry's were hard and cold. On Easter the same issue. We made reservations to take advantage of the brunch special. Yet when we arrived they stated they were not serving it anymore even though we were in the timeframe. The same heat lamp experience. French Fry's were hard and cold and even when I asked for new ones the new ones were cold. Get your act together Joe's

10/10 all around. Can't beat Original Joe's. I always come here with family and friends and the food never disappoints. The waiters here are all very friendly. I recommend getting the short braised ribs or the prime rib.

Check your bill. This place is corrupt!!! Be cautious they want to take you money one way or another..our bill came out and the the tip showed the amount of 30% when it said 20. I brought it to the supervisors attention and she said oh sorry sir that's my fault. I'm like what? That should never happen..
