Arrived at 10:20am (Maps said they open at 10am on Sunday). They were not open.
My go to location to have Porridge. We order: minced pork & preserved egg porridge, roasted duck, roast pork, bbq pork and the Pan fried rice noodle with XO sauce. Their porridge is a little bit watery which I like while my husband likes his a bit thicker. But my favorite is the roast duck, and bbq pork over rice. They give you a lot of rice with it. My comfort food and it’s reasonably too .
Poor service, and thirty food items here, with a mandatory 15% service fee, plus extra tips.
Please correct your hours of operation for Saturday and Sunday on your website. It says 10am but on your door it says 11am. It's a great disappointment to come all the way and find that you have to wait for an hour till opening time!
Had the congee and the beef noodles. Food was ok.
Food was ok, not a lot of flavor. I got th seafood crispy noodle.... more noodles than substance
Came here for a late lunch and it was cold outside, I was tired and missed my lunch and it was almost dinner time. I had a long drive to my hotel and I knew there would be traffic. I just finished a job in the same parking lot. I walked over here as the other places said Cash Only on their door! I ordered the Shrimp and Egg Chow Fun and to go I had the Roast Duck over rice plate. I was super hungry and literally anything should taste good to me. I dug into the shrimp chow fun and was kind of disappointed 😞 the noodles they were using were not great. I think they were not the thick ones have had my entire life. They were thinner and skinner. They tasted like they were from a package of instant noodles. No Wok Hei goodness either. I didn't eat much and just ate the shrimp and eggs. Super disappointed. Since I didn't get any satisfaction from the chow fun I ate the Duck plate as well. That on the other hand was good. I just ate the meat and a little rice to cut the greasy fattiness from the duck. The service was fine and the hot tea was welcome on a cold rainy day. Not sure how to review this as it was bad for me on a easy well known beloved dish. You guys try it and tell me!
not as good as it used to be. I drove 40 min to eat here because I loved this restaurant but I'm really disappointed right now.
I ordered beef brisket tossed noodle, braised cod with tofu claypot. Both dishes not the same as before.
Beef brisket is cold as if they just took it out of the fridge and microwaved for 30sec.
Braised cod pieces are smaller than before with thicker coating. And somehow few pieces of chicken meat are in the clay pot.
I came in before 3 families, my order was the last one taken (the other families food was coming out as my order got taken). I ordered 3 items but only 2 were brought to me (and only 2 were brought, just noted to show how much I was ignored). Did not get a refill on my tea. A couple that got there way after me got their food first, and even left before my bill was taken care of. Sorry to say, good food but really bad service
They raised their prices which is fine considering inflation. V mediocre food. But today, with the poor service, we were asked to give more tip as we left the restaurant. Wow. We did and I regret it. But that’s a first! Will not be coming back. Did not even take pictures as the food was blah. So weird

Amazing food! Service is also top-notch. I definitely recommend this place
First time visiting Porridge King, and I’m really impressed! The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is great. One unique thing about this place is that they allow you to bring in seafood for them to cook. I picked up a fresh crab from 99 Ranch, and they prepared an amazing salted egg crab—100/100, so good! Definitely coming back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!
Good foods. Friendly serving.
So I didn’t know that this is only cash restaurant to begin with so when it’s time for me to pay, they were accepting my debit card but told me that they will charge me 3% fee. So I balked and told them that it is against the law to charge customers of the 3% fee when that is a contract between the merchant and the bank! The male server was so abrasive towards me that in the end the cashier told me that she will refund me the 3% that the POS will automatically charge on my debit card which I agreed just to be able to get out as I was held up for a longtime disputing and getting lost in translation. I still gave them 15% tip despite the hurdle. So everyone for those doing takeouts from this restaurant check your bill and see if you are paying 3% for ordering takeout from them. It’s against California law to be charged the 3% fee CA Covk code 1748.1
Food here is always good... service sucks, it seems like they avoid you especially if none chinese speaking customer... and i don't get them automatically adding tip as a 15% service charge I have never seeseen this ...
