Food is only mediocre. The jalapeño margaritas are freaking amazing!!! Only been here a handful of times, but the staff has always been friendly.

Haven't been to Carlos for a while. We used to come for the breakfast special but we will be back for dinner.
The food is good Authentic Mexican food and doesn't disappoint
Good chips and guacamole.
My wife had the shrimp fajitas and she said the shrimp we plump and yummy, though the veggies were on the less done side.
I had the Albondigas soup, it was perfect, like I remember it should be with rich broth, light veggies and the star of the show, the Meatballs.
My boys had enchiladas and the plates were clean when we were done.

Good food, fast and friendly service.

Had a really nice experience at Carlos Mexican Restaurant in Dana Point. The place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food came out hot and fresh — everything tasted homemade and full of flavor.

I tried the fajita , and it was delicious. The portions were generous, and the chips and salsa were a great start. Drinks were also good and reasonably priced.

Its alright.. meat under cooked, chips taste like Pringles,salsa sweet. Drinks amazing flavor excellent service.

This is a solid local place that we unfortunately forget about, but when we do remember it, we wonder why we don’t come more often. It’s affordable, has decent food and drinks and often has live music on its lovely patio. The salsa and chips are great and we have a friend who goes out of his way to stop by and buy the salsa to take home.

Very expensive food I was expecting something decent but was shocked when I paid $18 dollars for 4 rolled tacos and was hoping to be at least very tasteful, was wrong ;beans were very cold ,guacamole brownish no cheese at all and tacos looked like we’re microwaved. If you looking for something to have drinks that’s cool, but food wise look around.

I took my family of 8 to Carlos Mexican Restaurant and we loved our experience. The food was amazing but the staff was our favorite part. So friendly and helpful and generous. We will come here every time we come to Dana Point!

WOW ! We had a great experience. Everything was fantastic. The service, the food, and the cocktails. My husband and I have been disappointed with some of the local restaurants recently and were looking for a new place. We found it ! We will be coming back... ALOT!

I've eaten here many times great tacos and very nice people. I have met the daughter of the original owner who now runs it. she's made great changes while keeping the authentic Mexican food. The music on Taco Tuesday is a nice touch.
