Very nice coffee shop located on the waters edge. Great view and location to walk around holding your favourite beverage. Coffee was tasty, good options available. Service was friendly and timely. Traffic was steady which indicates people like what they have to offer.

Coffee Importers in Dana Point is a marina side café with indoor and outdoor seating, both facing the harbor. It sits between two major walking routes: the marina walkway running along the docks and the Oceanside Beach path heading toward the harbor entrance. Baby Beach is directly next door, and the Ocean Institute is about a two minute walk, so the area stays busy throughout the day.
I especially liked the California Bagel, which is their highest demand food item, and the brewed coffee, which was consistent across visits. They have a full bakery with croissants and other delicious pastries. Orders are taken at the counter, and food typically comes out in under ten minutes.

Good food, excellent service and beautiful view of the harbor. Price is decent. Coffee is great! Go there every weekend for breakfast.

Still a hidden gem at the newly updated location
Did not enjoy my time here. The layout of this business is insane! Two separate registers to order from on completely opposite ends of an extremely narrow lobby filled with people. No direction or flow whatsoever.
The service was nice. Employee who took my order was kind, helpful and patient with questions! Overall, most of the staff seemed very friendly which was nice.
Now the food. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon. It was not good at all on any sort of scale. First off, it was nuked to high hell! I understand wanting to be able to serve your food hot, but this was on fire! After my first bite, my mouth was charred to death and my taste buds melted like a stick of unsalted butter on the sun. Instantly ruined my morning. After I battled the temperature, I was hoping for a flavorful experience and I was met with something far worse. Flavorless eggs, flavorless bacon, flavorless potatoes, flavorless cheese. Unreal. The tortilla served as a vessel to deliver a bundle of flavorless mush without any distinguishable traits to the different ingredients right into my mouth.
Anyways wouldn’t recommend

What a pleasant spot and staff were so friendly. However, they highly recommended their bagels... didn't tell them I've lived many years in NYC, but thought I'd be nice and order it... so 5 stars for service! haha...

Coffee Importers at Dana Point was such a fun stop for us. We went for desserts and it did not disappoint! The desserts were superb—fresh, tasty, and just what we were hoping for. Pair that with the great service and it made for a really enjoyable visit.
What really adds to the whole experience is the setting. Being right at the harbor makes it extra special. You get that relaxing coastal vibe while enjoying something sweet, and it’s just fun all around. The atmosphere is upbeat, and you can tell it’s a place people love coming back to.
If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out. Between the service, the desserts, and that perfect harbor backdrop, you can’t go wrong. I’d gladly go back again and again.

Best bagels and açaí bowls in town. But the coffee is not good. Espresso is always burnt.

Coffee Importers my favorite coffee place in Dana Point Harbor but they have moved down to the Ocean Institute with lots of outdoor seating overlooking the harbor. Their new building is beautiful and they still have my favorite biscotti's plain and chocolate ones. There was no sign on their old building as to where they had gone but bumped into some locals who directed me to the Ocean Institute end of the harbor. Glad I found them and it looks like everyone else did too! It was bustling with business. Very happy they have survived the ongoing, taking forever, Dana Point Harbor remake! 🙂

We have been loyal coffee drinkers at the old location. The new location is vastly understaffed. We waited for 1/2 hour for the surfer dude barrista to make our lattes. We gave up.

After a much longer than anticipated bike ride, we arrived just after closing time. We had small kids who were hot, tired, and hoping for ice cream. The owner Jim and his staff went above and beyond to still serve us and they treated us so kindly! The ice cream sundaes were wonderful but the hospitality is what made the experience exceptional. That kind of service is hard to find sometimes. Thank you Jim and staff!
