We had an incredible lunch there, starting with hot dinner rolls and finishing with a delicious Grand Marnier souffle. We felt as if we were in Europe.

came in on valentine's day, was very lonely and sad. That was until a hunk of server came in and made my day. he offered to be my date, i very much accepted. he cooked the food for me, gave me a show, and still managed to clean the table. thank you kevin for making my night, call me.

Classic French with a Californian twist and nice selection of wines- amazing sauces- this restaurant has consistently been my favorite since 2008

Classic little French Restaurant, that my 70 year old mom adores. The salmon was so tender, and the sauces compliment. Very different vibe for SoCal, nothing trendy here. Authentic old school. The desserts are my fav though, the soufflé and the lemon tart. Wish they got more business but the place is easy to walk past.

Love this place! The food is delicious, desserts are exquisite and the ambience is perfect.

Needs more "cuisine grand-mère" for me, but I know I'm in the minority.

Decent atmosphere.Server was alone but the groups were manageable and he was prompt. Not so the cook, I presume. The food was simple and took as long as a decent steak dinner to arrive.Food? A plain steak sandwich, meh. More fat than meat and the meat needed a hack saw to cut. The onion soup was decent.Wine selection was as expected in this region. Probably won’t be back.

We were trying to celebrate my daughter’s 16th birthday. Went on a recommendation but received the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Never received drink refills, cleared our on plates in a stack so she could open her gifts. 20-30 minutes after finishing dinner someone finally took our plates. Waited another 30 minutes for our dessert which never came. I was highly disappointed and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Really a very nice place for French food. Not many of those left. They're all taco restaurants now. Over Christmas the decorations are gorgeous. It is worth coming in and going to the tiny bar and having a drink just look at the decorations.

My husband and I came here excited to try French cuisine. We showed up and the only person working there did not greet us and just looked over at us. We had to initiate conversation and ask if they were open and he said yes but to wait a few minutes. The place was dead so I’m not sure what we were waiting on. He didn’t offer to seat us or direct us to a table so it was a very awkward experience. After 15 minutes without him checking on us or acknowledging us we eventually left. I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant before. Sad because we wanted to try this place but I’d rather go somewhere more friendly.

I got sick from eating their Thanksgiving Turkey dinner. Food poisoning? We’ll never go again. Lots of small bones in the Turkey and Dressing. Small sides. 3 green beans?? REALLY???

Nice two course lunch menu with prices more reasonable than the other restaurants on this plaza. I got the chicken picatta and the lobster bisque. Husband got the French onion soup. They also bring out very nice warm bread buns. One annoying thing is that for the lunch menu, if you choose to share that dish, they charge you $12 bucks extra. We came at the end of lunch (around 2 pm) and we were one of the only ones at the restaurant. It was a little bit awkward because I had to remind the staff the time and ask if we could get seated a few times since their lunch is until 3pm. I'm not sure how packed this restaurant usually is, but food came out very quickly since we were one of the only ones there at 2pm. Would recommend going again, very nicely decorated for Christmas.

This has been a favorite place of mine with friends plus I got engaged there, so have tried to return only to find the door locked at noon and later. Last time 8-10 people left while we waited knowing eventually the same guy would open. It has happened 4 times with no apology from him. This is the first time I have left a review, but the lady who this happened to on Christmas prompted me to do so. We also had revs each time. I know they are closing soon and I wanted to go today, but I drive much too far to risk having to stand out front waiting....so I cx'd my rev for today. The owner must know all this by now.

I had a special event coming up so I went to Gemmell's days before to pick out the perfect table for the evening, it was put in the book. My guests and I arrived and was seated at the table I had selected. We had put in our drink order when the person that seated us said we had to move, we were then put at a table next to the kitchen so everytime someone went in or came out of the kitchen, we were interrupted. It seems that we were bumped because somebody else was always seated there so we were out of luck even though I had made extra efforts to pick the table for the evening. That was my last visit to Gemmell's.

The problem with Gemmell's is not the chef, the food is great, it's not the two waiters. They work really hard and try to please. The problem is with whoever manages the dining room. They need more wait staff!! Only 2 waiters for a restaurant that size is ridiculous. And whoever is managing the dining room should be the one that's checking, Yelp reviews and responding to them and making corrections. They should also be the ones to be keeping trap track of their yelp reservations.. It's a shame because the food is delicious the atmosphere is sweet, they need somebody else running the place.
