Ordered sushi take out from Gen Kai later in the evening. It was ready in 20 minutes - service was also very friendly. The food was very fresh and so delicious. California rolls, tuna rolls, salmon rolls, and cucumber rolls were all hearty and had plenty of fish/stuffing. The tuna and salmon came with cucumber and avocado, something that is often an add on other places. The portions were very good and 2 rolls felt like a real meal not just an appetizer!! The rice was tender and, again, it was all super fresh. Thank you for a wonderful take out meal to eat at a scenic overlook!!

We ordered the baked mussels with an avocado and shredded crab meat under it with mayo and we ordered the Sammy special, salmon nigiri and scallop nigiri and Salmon Kama and surf clam. All of these items were phenomenal!! I drove from San Diego downtown to go eat sushi here!!!

Given the proximity of the restaurant to us, we have been there several times with my family and overall we have had a good experience. However, my wife and I went there last week for lunch. We each ordered a lunch item and shared a sushi roll. When the sushi roll arrived, I didn’t see anything but rice so I asked the waitress about it. I told her that this is all rice and no fish. She giggled and said that’s how they are and walked away!! The other items were subpar and portions were very small! We spent over $60 for lunch and came away dissatisfied and hungry. This was our last visit there.
Spicy tuna roll and crispy rice tuna are pretty sad and stale. Everything else very average. Will look for a better spot next time

The food is very good and fresh. Ordering child menu you will have a real feast -with MANY dishes, like 2 types of chicken, shrimps, soup, salad and desert. I was impressed. Only one thing I did not like - it's too noisy but it's because everyone wants to eat there!
