This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Orange County. The meal was delicious, the service was excellent, and the restaurant had a delightful ambience.

We just thought the food lacked flavor. Lasagna was ok and my wife's gluten free entree had zero flavor - she added salt and red pepper which is rare for her. Waiter was slow.

Luciana's is a good place to go for some italian food, although it can be quite noisy inside and rather dark depending on the location of your table.

Luciana's is always the bees knees. Never missed the mark and have been going for a decade.

Food was very good, and the overall dining experience was very enjoyable. Would prefer to have authentic garlic bread instead of garlic flatbread.

The restaurant was very busy and loud. We could not hear our server when she told us the specials. Our food was not good. The bruschetta had capers in it and the bread wasn't toasted. My pasta was linguine with shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked and hard. The pasta was sparse and too al dente. Won't be back any time soon

We eat at this restaurant often but have always requested an inside table. We made a last minute reservation so all inside tables were taken; we opted to try the Piazza (aka: the tent outside). It was a lovely summer evening so they had both the entry and a large area beside the bar wide open to the elements, allowing a lovely summer breeze to waft through. White table cloths, not too crowded, open air...with the same incredible food and service we have come to expect from this long-time, family-owned establishment. Chris, a favorite server, was his usual fantastic self, taking care of things for us before we even had to ask, which IMO is the mark of a great server! Food was fantastic, per usual. All in all, we had a perfect evening and will be back over and over!

Luciana's continues to uphold the test of time through many years of fine food, service and ambience. It was a fabulous experience after moving away from Dana Point years ago! Our server, Chris delivered all items ordered promptly and in the time frame of minutes exactly as he had advised us. The entire experience exceeded our expectations! Thank you to Luciana's for maintaining a professional and high quality experience, which can be rare in the restaurant industry.

We always love coming here. The food is excellent and the staff is always very friendly. Great place to come to celebrate an anniversary or other special occasion.

absolutely love Lucianas, fabulous Italian food and especially love sitting outside in the open tent and being taken care of by Mike and Nikki as they deliver awesome service with a smile .

Delicious food and friendly staff. Best Italian food in Dana Point. We'll definitely return.

We have been loyal guests of Luciana’s for over 20 years, celebrating countless birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones with family and friends. Sadly, after our most recent experience, we will never return.

We came to celebrate our daughter’s second birthday and were seated in the back room—a space with poor acoustics where normal conversation echoes loudly. Despite this, our children (who dine out several times a week and know how to behave) were calm and respectful. Yet, we were approached by two managers who told us we were being too loud. Their tone was harsh and condescending. It was humiliating and offensive, especially considering how many years we’ve supported this restaurant. Feeling completely unwelcome, we left the restaurant immediately.

We decided to give Luciana’s a chance to make things right, so we called the general manager a week later. Unfortunately, he was not apologetic. He was dismissive and stated he would “get everyone’s side of the story” and get back to us. He never did. No follow-up, no apology—nothing.

It’s clear that Luciana’s is no longer family-friendly and no longer values the loyal, local customers who have supported them for decades. This was a deeply disappointing and frankly heartbreaking experience. They’ve lost not just our business, but also that of our large local network.

If you’re looking for a place to bring family or celebrate a special occasion, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The management here has lost touch with hospitality.
