They have a great happy hour menu, LOVE the steak skewers and amazing sauce that comes with it!
We were seated immediately upon arrival. Our lovely waitress, Kate was very welcoming and pleasant. She took our initial order of Asparagus fries, 805 pale ale and my Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita. Few minutes later we ordered couple of other items from the Sunday Happy hour menu. The drinks and Asparagus fries were delicious! We were enjoying the great warm weather, our drinks and the company. 45 minutes after placing our lunch order, we asked Kate for the bill. I assumed we'd have to take the food with us as we had to leave soon. But she brought the check for only what we consumed. Apparently the food wasn't ready. My husband noticed that Kate was the only waitress while we were there. Our order may have gotten lost. We'll never know. But the drinks, atmosphere and our experience was actually great. Since we had a great time regardless of not getting the food we ordered, I actually liked this place and will be back. The patio is not dog friendly. Only dogs they allow are for service animals. Which means we'll have to come only when the dog's at the groomers down the street. So can't add this place to my list of dog friendly restaurants.
Understaffed and food was not fresh. We waited 40 min for mai tai drinks. When we spoke with the waitress she said she would bring complimentary edamame and we never received it. Other people complained for the long wait to be served and the table next to us left because they waited 30 minutes and never even got drinks. I wouldn't ever come back again it's not worth the wait.
We had a great time here for my daughter's 18th birthday. Teppan grill was a lot of fun and the food was great!
i went here for a double date with some colleagues and its was pretty good if i'm being honest the prices are steep for me seeing as i'm a college student and don't have a full time job. but i would definitely come again. note: i ordered the salmon bomb and was under the impression that there was no spicy mayo on it because it was usually indicated on the other sushi's when it was. but when my sushi arrived it had spicy mayo. it was bearable but i'm fairly sensitive to spices so if you are too. make sure to ask
Nice little place with some good happy hour deals. The service is great, it never gets too crowded, and it's so close to Dana Point Harbor that you just need to cross the street and you're there. I recommend the chicken sandwich or something from the sushi bar. I do have one small complaint- I have been here a few times and each time have ordered their shishito peppers appetizers, which were amazing the first few times until they changed the recipe. So instead of airy and crunchy peppers with a side of dipping sauce, they're now prepared in the dipping sauce and are just a soggy and saucy mess. Bummer! I recommend bringing back the other ones! Unfortunately, that was a big drawing point to visiting so I havent been back yet.
For a restaurant with an extensive sushi menu and few other options, their sushi bar was not staffed well at all. We ordered 2 rolls and it took over an hour. Our waiter kept stopping by after 45min had passed to assure us it was coming soon. The food was decent, but definitely not worth the price. Tempura was soft, fish was decent, presentation was mediocre. At the end of the night I spent $60 for sub par food and poor service. The staff was polite, but sitting at a table with no food for 45 minutes and no sign of food or a server is a failure. Sadly this was one of my favorite restaurants 6 years ago and they have gone down hill ever since removing the teppan grills, going through all the menu and staffing changes. I would avoid this place unless you like drinks, because those come out at least 5 minutes after you order.
Great atmosphere and bartenders! Love the sushi and Happy Hour !
A group of friends and I went here on a Friday evening for Happy Hour (until 6.30pm in the bar). YES. Such a great night! A live band, amazing beet salad with ahi tuna. Perfect. The merlot was on pointe. Our server was quick, cheerful, and hard-working. Just wish Iived closer or I'd go more often!
Good quality fast service on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon

Food was average. Bar was dark. .no light. Support loud/ band was a no show. Waitress was not that nice. Blah....
Last night we detoured from Jimmy's to mahi. What a disastrous mistake. We know our sushi well. This was an example of a restaurant totally losing it. While the waiter was attendant and cool, we kind of thought he was a little pushy. Three margaritas were of Margaritaville quality even with two of them being Cadillacs. The Clam Chowder tasted like it was from a Campbell's soup can. The sushi appetizers we had were the worst. The rice broke up and somehow it seemed off the shelf, even though it was a fried version (like an Aliso Viejo roll at Zen). Two of us ordered the fish and chips and I swear it came out as warmed up Trader Joe's shrimp and hollow Cod over a bed of soggy fries. Three of us, $139.00 before tip.
I don't know why I gave this place another try today. Years ago it was fantastic. It was my favorite place to go for my birthday. That's why I guess. Horrible food, filthy tables, and it stinks. There is no more wind in the sails here. It's sad to see a great facility turn to s**** Don't waste your money, or your time.
Okay, I want to say nice things about this restaurant. The atmosphere and everything was very nice and there was live music the night I went. But, the food was just so disappointing. The burger was wet and bland, the red dragon roll were lackluster, the drinks were nothing special. The fish and chips were probably the best thing at my table and that's not saying much because it's hard to mess up fish and chips.
This place used to have an affordable happy hour menu. Now? I don't think so! I could have had a steak dinner for the price of the pupus $$$$$
