Food was good, a little overpriced but most disappointing is that it was set up in a vanilla ballroom with an available beautiful park and ocean view wasted, unavailable to Thanksgiving dinner special event diners

The prime rib was probably the best part, the turkey was chewy and maybe should have been sliced. The salmon Wellington was good, the pork tenderloin was dry. The side dishes, mixed veggies were burnt and overcooked, the sweet potatoes were mediocre, the property is renovating and ruins the view of the harbor. I'd probably not come back. The coffee cup was dirty, the forks were bent, just poorly managed. If you want to charge those prices, you should check everything. The dessert was great, but the strawberries were empty and never replenished. It just seemed like they were trying to save more than have enough for the guests. I don't know why you have to pay a tip when you do everything for yourself. It should be 10% max not 20%. There is no order taken or food delivery. I understand it's a holiday, but the hotel should cover that cost and not put it on the guests. The charcuterie and seafood were good. I didn't try the salads or the pasta or the omelette bar.

Had the most beautiful experience of being close to the ocean and not just enjoying the view- but savoring the delicately prepared dishes from Lantern’s Edge delectable menu!
Our immeasurable thanks to Jiyan-and the rest of the staff at this welcoming restaurant for making us feel welcome and special. The food is worth all the trouble of driving even in the rain!
Loved everything about this place, more power and continued success to everyone involved! 👏🏼🙏

My wife and I were staying at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott and decided to dine at the hotel restaurant for a relaxed evening and a nice meal after a long work day. We arrived around 8:30 PM, a little later than planned, and were hoping for a smooth dinner at the beautiful property.

After being seated, it took about 10 minutes before we were greeted and able to order drinks and an appetizer. Our drinks arrived roughly 10 minutes later, and at that point, we ordered our entrées. About 20 minutes passed with no updates — the ice in our glasses had already melted — when our server finally stopped by to say our food would be “right out” and asked if we’d like another round of drinks. When he returned a few minutes later with the new drinks, he let us know there had been an issue printing our ticket to the kitchen, and our food had only just started cooking. He kindly offered the drinks on the house, which we appreciated, but our appetizer had never been put in either.

Roughly 20 minutes after that, our entrées finally arrived, though unfortunately the food was underwhelming for the price point. We never complained, and the staff did make a good-faith effort to make things right by comping one entrée and a couple of drinks. Still, the long delays, missed order, and inconsistent communication made what should have been a relaxing evening feel frustrating — especially after an already late dinner.

The restaurant has a lovely setting and courteous staff, but the service flow and communication need improvement. We hope this feedback helps the team make some adjustments, because the experience didn’t reflect the quality expected from a Marriott property.

We celebrated our dad’s 80th birthday here today (party of 13 for brunch) and everything was great! The brunch buffet (including fresh waffles and custom omelettes) was delicious, and the location is beautiful. They also validate parking! I hope the team at Lantern’s Edge reads this, because the entire staff (especially our server, who also very kindly took so many photos for us!) was fantastic. They made our celebration even more special, and we all appreciated their attention and hospitality so much. Would love to enjoy another celebration here again.

The Sunday Brunch at Lantern's Edge was amazing - from start to finish. The restaurant host, Christine, warmly welcomed us when we arrived. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was coastal and the floor to ceiling windows filled the room with natural light. Our server, Miguel, provided top notch service throughout our meal. I opted in for the endless brunch option that had unlimited mimosas, regular breakfast items, and premium items (jumbo shrimp, crab legs, prime rib, and more) all for $65. We sat outside in the patio that had amazing ocean views accompanied by live entertainment. I noted on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and Boran, sous chef from the kitchen came out and personally greeted us and wished my friend a happy birthday. Lantern's Edge is truly a hidden gem in Dana Point. I will 100% be coming back and let everyone know this is the place to be for great food, amazing service, and impeccable vibes!

This experience unfortunately fell short of expectations. The food was mid at best. Overdone steaks and hamburgers. Hard buns. No salt and pepper on the tables. Things that were supposed to be hot were cold and things that were supposed to be cold were hot. And pop was 7$ a can. I assumed non alcoholic beverages would be included for the price. Also music was way too loud. We could barely hear each other. Great effort but just didn't live up to the cost. For $500.00 I could have taken my family out for a pretty good meal.

Overall experience was good ... I would rate the food and drinks 8; Ihad the clams with the sourdough bread was delicious...

I ordered the scallops and when I started eating them they tasted like ammonia. This happens when scallops have gone bad. I informed my server that they served me spoiled scallops. They made me pay full price for the spoiled scallops and didn’t remove it from my bill. Good cocktails. The scallops were cooked well and would have been good if they had not spoiled already.

My wife and I ate at Lantern's Edge for her birthday. We have gluten/dairy allergies and were very impressed the Chef actually visited our table to confirm everything would follow or dietary restrictions. She even added a special dessert to accommodate us and surprise my wife. The Branzino and Wagyu entrees were both cooked perfectly along with the octopus. All dishes were filled with flavor and well presented. The view and atmosphere was also perfect to enjoy the special occasion with my wife. We will absolutely be dining here again soon and are so pleased to have another nice option for dinner dates in the area.

Beautiful setting with fire pits and ocean views. Our waiter was also very friendly and brought blankets, explained the menu and did his best to accommodate dietary restrictions. Unfortunately (like other reviews state) dinner did not meet our expectations.
