Very disappointing. The chef is amazing and capable of much more. Tonight, however, the service was terrible and so was the food.

We went to Rays for our anniversary. Only ate a salad, few small plates and dessert. The Caesar was refreshing, dressed perfectly, and was abundant. The Salvadoran Cheese Rolls came 4 to an order. They were light and tasty. The Piloncillo Shrimp have a wonderful crunchy covering. The shrimp are large, and the accompanying slaw has a perfect spicy kick. We ordered a second plate of it. The restaurant presented us with a surprise dessert ; chocolate and some more chocolate. Yummy.

3 years ago, the food was as good as it gets. Second time in the row the main courses were just awful. We were there in December, ordered scallops. Before, they were melting in your mouth and were just out outright delicious. In December they were oversalted, chewy, just not edible. We were thinking it was just a glitch. Nope. Yesterday we ordered chicken and salmon, both were overcooked. Salmon was very dry. Sauce was just awful. In my opinion, if we go there next time, it is going to be for drinks and appetizers, because the view is fantastic.

The picture window we sat at had very large bird dropping (12" In length). Not acceptable for this type of venue. But service and all staff were great! My critique on the Branzino: needs to be edited, way too much stuff on top. Let the fish shine, and do Not over cook it. Filet was cooked perfect, needed more flavor. BAO appetizer was fabulous. As was the chocolate moose. Service was the best ever. Chef needs to hear the critique. As does building maintenance. Happy to go back again. Property is amazing.

The food is unrivaled, and our server, Dean, was beyond excellent. I live in Orange County and always look forward to eating at Raya, especially for dinner.

The appetizer was grossly sweet and neither myself nor my girlfriend wanted to eat it. Our server never once checked to see how the food was, but the busser asked if we wanted the appetizer taken away since we weren't touching it, and told us he'd have our waiter take it off the bill which never happened, in fact our waiter never acknowledged it and didn't check if the entrees were any better. The salmon was fine but the Brussels sprouts also had way too much sugar. Aside from the appetizer, the food itself wasn't with leaving a negative review, but for an establishment which prides itself on service, we were both surprised at how poor it was. Fortunately, while in town literally every single other establishment we visited in a 20 minute radius had excellent service, so you can't go wrong so long as you don't choose this restaurant.
We have dined at RAYA at least 3 times before and always enjoyed the food, service, and experience. Tonight, our waitress was excellent, professional, and attentive. We waited for over 40minutes for our food, and by the time we got it, it was BARELY WARM. I was a guest at The Ritz for 2 nights. My daughter joined me for dinner, but had to take the food home to warm it up because we were tired and didn't enjoy it, even though it was tasty. Our waitress was extremely polite and apologetic for the delay. We could have asked our waitress to take the food back to be reheated, but we were afraid it would take much longer, so my daughter took it home since I did not have a microwave in my room, and by this time, we were already frustrated. I expect better, especially at such a high-end restaurant and expected our food to be hot at the very least.

Raya has proven itself to be an excellent venue for family gatherings. Over the years we have held family gatherings here and have enjoyed ourselves each time. The food is consistently excellent and the relaxed atmosphere is appreciated. The service is considerate, efficient and professional.
