The ice cream is extremely overpriced and I was not given the right amount of change back if you want really good ice cream worth the price go to gelato paradiso it's a little farther away but the ice cream is really good worth the price I recommend that place over Rita's Italian ice and frozen custard

Rita's Italian Ice has been staple for me as someone raised on the East Coast. It was an absolute joy to find one in Dana Point. The custards make for a great dessert. Highly recommend!

Sadly, the one I wanted was out for the evening.Service was great and accommodated what I wanted, though different than what I had wanted. (2nd thing out)Prices were very high for the small amount of product given. This is the only reason I will go elsewhere.
Not enough flavors. Unhygienic. My son found grey hair in his cup. Almost full content had to be disposed. We were driving. I don’t have pictures. Proceed with caution.

U know what? Before trying Rita's, I was like.. mm same Italian ice is same like store bought. No way!! I'm so glad that my daughter took me here. U just need to try!! I'm not a sorbet person so I'm not a much of Italian ice. But!! Italian ice shocked me here! Bam bam bam!! Whenever we come to this beach area, it's my go to dessert shop now. Small but clean and they have all perfect flavors!! Can't be happy with small. I go for larger here.

I can't recommend this place enough!!! First Karie was such a sweet man his wife Rita owns the shop and he's hospitable and hilarious! Best thing about Rita's is him forsure!! You definitely gotta say hi to him! The flavors are delicious. The custard is so smooth and not too sweet. The Italians ice melts with the custard and the flavors were amazing. I got cotton candy and Georgia peach together and it did not disappoint!! Highly recommend. Around $6 for a small, but we'll worth it. If you are looking for a classic mom and pop shop with delicious ice cream or Italian ice, you've found the best spot in Dana Point and arguably, Orange County!
