I'll tell you something. When I walked in the restaurant, I was having the worst morning possible. But the employees made me feel wonderful. Even the other customers coming in after me. They were uplifting. Very polite and a warm greeting. Not one restaurant that I have ever been to. None of the others treated me the way these folks here have. I will definitely travel to this diner even if it's an hour and a half away from my house. Also the food is perfect. I couldn't ask for anything better.... chicken fried steak.

Black Bear Diner at Danville California is a popular restaurant serving comfort American cuisine in a warm and welcoming environment. We went there as a family for an evening meal. We relished their Coffee, Soda, Kids’ Mac & Cheese, Chips, Salmon, Onion Rings, Salad, Big Bear Burger, Corn Muffins and Ice Cream Sundae. The dishes were fresh, well cooked with large portions and delicious. Their ambience of wooden and bear decor is unique and exquisite. The staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and great. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Took a little while to get food, waiter gave us sparkling water instead of sprite and water. Food was great, and huge portions for the price. Tons of seating and very spacious. They also have a kids menu.
