I was in the mood for a really nice tasty bowl of chicken soup and didn’t know where to go to. I checked online and Domenico’s had great reviews and I’m happy to say that the soup was so good that I decided to order a catering amount for my Christmas Eve dinner to share with my family!!!
Highly recommend this delicious delicatessen!

This was my go to sandwich spot until today. I noticed half way through my sandwich that it had nuts in one of the deli meats and I let the staff know. They brought out their “manager” and she got defensive told me that it always comes with nuts in the meat, which is really weird because I’ve always order the same and have asked about it in the past since I have a nut allergy.
Anyway, I wasn’t trying to argue with her, but she gave me the well what do you want me to do about it attitude. No apologies about the situation or even asked if I was okay. At this point, I just wanted my refund so that I can quickly go to urgent care. I was really concerned about my itchy throat. Even a customer next to me was more concerned and asked if I needed benedryl or anything. The rest of the staff the ignored me even though I was having a reaction.
This experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. It’s really sad because I really liked the sandwiches here but I don’t want to support a business where the staff doesn’t care about customers allergic reactions. It felt like a huge bother to even get the manager to give me a refund. I don’t know if I want to go back any time soon until they give their staff some empathy training

I have enjoyed sandwiches from here over the years, as an sf local I find Domenico’s to be on par with delis in the city. But today was a different story. I told the sandwichstress specifics of my order, and I was met with a blank stare. Usually after is “everything else okay?” And I assumed everything else would be on there. No lettuce, tomato or onion- only turkey, muenster and “light” mustard. I get it was probably the end of the day and the employees were enjoying a y2k playlist but that shouldn’t impede on their customer service abilities.

5 stars! Domenico's Delicatessen and Cafe exceeded my expectations! The service was friendly and attentive, the sandwiches were incredibly tasty and made with fresh ingredients, and the environment was warm and welcoming. Can't wait to come back!

Sandwich was OK, bit skimpy on the meat. Had to repeat my order twice after initially ordering. Sandwich maker had a wispy beard and scraggly hair, made me nervous about hair in my food. The no glove policy is not a huge deal if they weren't going from pen and pad to making sandwiches and wiping their hands on the wipe rags and aprons. Deli side didn't have bacon for my club sandwich (said I could go next door if I wanted..). Great meat and cheese options.
First time in Danville, born and raised in the Bay. Saw an insta reel about this place the night before and decided to check it out. Love me a deli sandwich.
This place hands down has the most variety of meats and cheeses I have ever seen like ever. Every meat you can think of, they have. They also have such great variety of smoked cheeses, also love. I got the Mortadella and Chicken Breast on Foccacia. It was delicious. All the spreads and different flavored mayos. Amazing.
My only thing is, no one wore gloves and everyone touched the ordering pad, pen, cash register and then went right back to making sandwiches. If that doesn’t bother you, then come through.
Edit after the owner’s response:
Shame on you. One of the customers present in the store walked out - I spoke with him outside, and hopefully he’ll share his experience too. This isn’t just about gloves; it’s about respect, appropriate customer service, and fundamental hygiene standards. Invest in your employees.
Very disappointing experience. I used to love this place, but during my recent visit, I was shocked to see staff taking orders, touching various surfaces, and then preparing sandwiches - without washing their hands or wearing gloves.
When I politely asked one of them to put on gloves, another server raised her voice at me, insisting that “no one uses gloves anymore” and told me to go somewhere else. I then asked for her name, but she refused to give it to me and ran away to the back and never came out again.
This level of disregard for basic hygiene, as well as the absence of customer service, is simply unacceptable. I’m attaching photos of the staff who were on shift at the time. I sincerely hope the owner takes this seriously and addresses the issue.
Today I got one of the best sandwiches in my life, everyone was super enthusiastic, and helpful when it came to making my decision! Best Italian deli! Highly recommended for locals and travels!
When the homeless lady said she'd watch my truck to make sure nobody would steal it, I asked her what the fee was. ...Just a ham sandwich and a coke, she said. What a deal! I told her she should raise her prices, because a job with that much responsibility should have included a bag of chips. She said the sandwich was the best she's ever had...10 times better than the sandwiches you get at the church. ☆☆☆☆☆
Best turkey sandwich and chicken salad with greens? I gave it only 4 stars because on several occasions I tell them that it doesn't have onions and they still put it in, whether in person or by calling on the phone, they still put that ingredient in and because I pay extra for another ingredient and they don't put it in, also because on the website you can't change the menu you want to buy, but from then on everything is very delicious and fresh and they are very kind people!!

1st and last time coming here.
They gave us stale bread in our sandwich, and I mean stale!
It feels like they said "these people are not regulars, lets stick them with our old bread"... that is how it feels...

East coast sandwich vibe right here in the bay
All the sides are incredible as well
It's difficult to find parking for Domenico's and I understand why. The sandwiches are worth the wait in line. They provide service with a smile, and the deli has ample outdoor seating.
