Ordered DoorDash from here a few times. Each time the pasta has been excellent and good value. Since I ordered for pickup all I can say about service is that it's quick and everyone is nice. The ambiance of the place looks great as well.

Shardimade the experience excellent. Food was pretty ok. Bread was disappointing. Blackhawk Plaza is scary desolate. No one there. Go try the restaurant and Shardi will do her best to make your experience great! Sad state of affairs there. Ghost town.

Every time I walk through the Draeger's market area I see Nilo's. I've looked at the menu multiple times and though all the options sound good and it's reasonably priced for Danville/Black Hawk. But it's always empty when I'm there which is during the day on the weekends. I looked at Yelp and with all the 5 star reviews, I had to give it a try. The staff (which I assume was the owner) and service were excellent. The food on the other hand was meh. Just OK. Our family discussed it and all agreed it was a one time try,, which I'm sorry to say since the staff was extremely nice.

I came here with friends for lunch and it was an all-around great experience! Nilo was basically empty when we came in (not surprising because Blackhawk Plaza was basically empty as well) but it had great ambiance and great outdoor and indoor seating. Our server, Annalise, was extremely sweet and helped us throughout our dining experience. We all got the lunch specials, which was a great price and portion. I got the rosemary chicken penne, per her request, which was great- light, flavorful, and satisfying. I loved that this place was served like a true Italian restaurant- included bread and butter were served first (the bread was delicious and fluffy), then the salads, and concluded by the main dish. The salad (part of the lunch special) was simple but good and helped me work up appetite for the pasta. We all loved the pasta, and the portions were very generous, especially considering the price and the fact it was a lunch special. The rosemary flavor was delicious in my penne.Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely come back.

Nilo's is a small Italian restaurant in the Blackhawk mall. We started with the pear Gorgonzola salad. The flavor captured our taste buds nicely. The staff nicely split this for us since they knew we were splitting it. Next was the salmon fettuccine. There was a good amount of salmon nicely placed on properly cooked fettuccine. Ground Parmesan is available for the asking. We sat next to the fireplace. Since it was hot it obviously wasn't on:-) It will be fun to go back when it is cooler. The owner had a nice west bay pizza shop for many years do, to no surprise, he made a flatbread/pizza garlic bread. It added great flavors to our dinner. We need to try other flatbreads. The mall needs more foot traffic but that didn't stop Nilo's from creating great food.

Came here as I saw it got 4 stars. Restaurant was not busy except for a few large parties outside in the patio. Was seated immediately. Restaurant seems new. Ordered our food and drinks fairly quickly. Food came in reasonable time. We started with garlic bread which was good. The Caesar salad was a bit different than we are used to, but was fine. I had the wedge salad which was fine. For the main course we had the cheese and beef ravioli and the rosemary pasta. Both were ok. Price was reasonable, but would not make a special trip for this place. Overall, nothing special.

I'm surprised this place has 4.5 stars. I'm giving it two and that's generous. The four of us came on Saturday for a birthday and expected a bit more based on the reviews. Let me start with the good. The server who took care of us was so charming and friendly. Loved her! But that's where it ends. The food was just awful. We started off with the Bruschetta which was so bland and terrible. Tomatoes were bitter, bread wasn't even grilled or toasted enough and the pesto on it gave it a weird flavor with the bitter tomatoes. No basil or cheese or flavor. The Arnold Palmer was so weird and heavily sweet. They must have sweetened iced tea and then mix it in with overly sweet lemonade. Who has sweetened ice tea in an Arnold Palmer? Just strange. We had the vegetable soup which was basically salt and mushrooms. It was ok but very salty....I think I'm being nice here. The wedge salad our table mates ordered was so boring with bitter tomatoes and bland blue cheese, and the wedge had an old core I could plainly see. My husband ordered the seafood pasta and it was swimming in water and oil (it was supposed to be a light tomato sauce) and the scallops were so tiny it was ridiculous. My chicken with artichoke and lemon was also strange. It was completely off balance and did not have grilled chicken. Why not at least grill the chicken. It was so strange and weird. I only ate a bit of it because I was so hungry. One of us had spaghetti and meatballs which was a complete miss with a very strange flavor. We asked for some bread and they brought four tiny slices of sourdough bread, barely toasted with no butter, olive oil or anything. Just dry bread sitting on a plate. Seriously??? Onto dessert...that was one of the worst tiramisu's I've ever had. Talk about DRY. There is zero creaminess or flavor for that matter. Our table mates had the mango mousse and another odd flavor. And I love mango mousse!I will never be back. I can't imagine this place will last. Save your money and go somewhere else. God awful. Oh and by the way my husband and I tossed our leftovers in the trash in a garbage can on the way out of the mall. I'm not sure I've ever done that anywhere!RESPONSE TO BUSINESS. I did not come back and ask for a bag. There were four of us. We didn't talk about it at the table because we didn't know what our table mates thought until we left. Our table mates do not have a lot of money and paid for the meal so they took theirs home. We did not. What I said was 100% truthful.

Stopped by for a work lunch on a calm Tuesday. Place had just opened. Sat outside on their patio. Nice atmosphere. Took advantage of their lunch special that comes with a salad and your choice of pasta. Delicious dish! I believe the owner or manager was the one who took my order and was super nice. Will be back for sure. Thank you!

Food is mediocre and lacks any flavor. Chicken in my pasta was is not even seasoned and very bland. Came here with my parents and toddler son for dinner. It didn't look very busy, but we stood there waiting for a host for a little while who, when finally acknowledged told us to wait a little bit more until they finally sat us. This should have been our first sign. We sat outside for some time before anyone came and even asked us for drinks, etc. By the time the server came by our table, we had already decided on our entrees so we ordered right away. About 30 minutes in, our appetizer, bruschetta, came. We were starving so we ate it all up. Little did we know our meals wouldn't come for almost an hour later. It was getting late and anyone who has a little child, knows they only have so much time and patience before they become cranky and can't sit still. We were starving. My child was starving. Then we saw the other two tables that were seated AFTER us get their meals. We finally flagged down the owner and asked about our food. Come to find out, the server forgot to put in our order?!! At that point we should have gotten up and left, but we had already invested so much time and were hungry and the owner promised it would be less than 10 more minutes so we waited...which it wasn't. Our food came out one by one....until they forgot the most important meal which was my 1 year old's mac and cheese!! By now my child was hungry and it was an HOUR past his bedtime so I decided to leave with my son and asked my parents to get my son's food to go whenever it arrived. My parents finished their food and came home with what should have been my untouched plate and my son's. When I went to go reheat my son's food...it was just noodles and NO SAUCE. I couldn't believe all of the craziness we went through. AND to top it all off, the consensus was the food is VERY mediocre and bland. I would not go back and surprised it has received good reviews. Pure disappointment.

I would give 10 stars if I could! We were in the plaza checking out a car show in the parking lot and wanted to grab a bite at one of the restaurants. We tried going into two different ones first, and the staff at one place were extremely rude and aloof and the other place had a long wait time. We strolled over to Nilos and we're greeted by the sweetest woman, who also happened to be the owner. Before she seated us, she said they were understaffed today and the wait for food would be a while. No problem! We had no plans and didn't mind hanging out and enjoying the ambiance. The food was delicious. I had the chicken pesto sandwich with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and my boyfriend had the BBQ burger. We shared the tiramisu and cannoli (both soooo good!) and had coffee as well. I highly recommend Nilos if you like to enjoy your food without being rushed out and having great service. We will be back again soon! :)
