A great stop, especially during happy hour! Service was quick, friendly and excellent! Patio dining on a nice day adds to the downtown experience. Food was flavorful and drinks were delicious too! Great spot for a date night or special occasion with friends and family.

We wanted to celebrate Valentine's a little early. I'm so glad I chose Tide's. It's a romantic restaurant with beautiful decor. It'a a romantic spot with exceptional food. My husband had the halibut with passion fruit buerre blanc sauce. I had the oysters as an appetizer and the pear and gorgonzola salad as my main dish. Both were delicious. I will definitely go back.

Tides was a great choice for our anniversary. They made it special with a dessert plate. We were well attended to and everyone was friendly. The restaurant is beautiful and the bathrooms were very clean and tidy. My honey had the short ribs and I had the gnocchi... it was a bit greasy but thats the nature of the dish. We would return for another nice dinner maybe on a week night this time. We came in on a Sat when we celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary

Tides was excellent! It was our first time there, and we will be back. The lobster toast was a delicious appetizer as was the calamari. The dinners were great and the lava cake for dessert was fantastic.

If you like to eat sea food, this place is for you. It has a variety of dishes, delicacies, desserts and drinks. I went for dinner with my husband and dog and it was a very pleasant experience, the service was very good, the food arrived at the right time, and they were very kind to us. Highly recommended!!

Everything on the menu is delicious. You can't order a bad dish here. The fish is super fresh.

On December 3rd my wife and I joined another couple for dinner at The Tides. This was the first time for all of us but we have read good reviews and were anticipating a great dining experience. WOW, were we wrong. It was not crowded but had a large party of 12 which they were getting most of the teams attention.

The menu did look appealing. The couple we were with ordered a salad, the French Onion soup and decided to share the Black Cod. My wife and I shared a Caesar Salad which came to the table on two plates (split). She ordered the Cioppino and I ordered the Blackened Alaskan Halibut.

The first issue can when our guest received his French Onion Soup, there was no spoon. It took several minutes to get the attention of a server. Then our guest got the next surprise, when the Black Cod was served to them, it was on one plate and a second plate was not provided. When the server came back with our remaining dishes, our guest asked for a second dinner plate. The waitress explained to them that upon sharing a dinner, no second plate is provide. Our guest was somewhat upset at this was not explained to us and reminded her this was a first visit. She apologized and returned with a plate at no cost.

Next mistake, my wife did not get a spoon for her Cioppino. Thus, both soup dishes were served with no spoon. The staff was somewhat busy with the large party so once again, it took some time to get the spoon.

As for the food, the quality of my Blackened Alaskan Halibut was excellent but for the seasoning, it was very poor and lacked salt. Blackened is not a term I would use. My wife did enjoy her Cioppino but nothing outstanding. Finally, our guest felt the same about the Black Cod. Nothing outstanding.

To be fair, the waitress comped our guest their Black Cod and provided coffee and/or dessert. Yet, the best was yet to come. Whenever we go out to dinner, we always split the entire bill. The waitress went over the check with me and I made it clear to split the entire bill in half. She returned with the rung up bill with our two credit cards. It took me a minute to add it up. Upon looking at it, my bill was over $200 and my guest was charged for only their salad and soup. For the sake of looking cheap, I covered the my bill. Her failure to once again follow instructions cost my much more than expected.

Just for the food alone, I would not go here for a meal. There are to many great restaurants in Danville to spend your well earned money here.

I tried Tides for the first time to celebrate my birthday. Had the oysters, steak skewers, crab cakes and sea bass. The food was very good, although the steak skewers and crab cakes were only moderately warm upon arrival. Sea bass was excellent; but definitely could have been bigger for the price point. Oysters were on point and excellent as well. Amazing service by the waiter as well as well as the hostess. The birthday card and complimentary dessert were a nice touch. Upscale, trendy interior. Will be back!

This place is amazing - my new, go-to place for seafood. The staff is outstanding (ask for Katherines - she's great), even the manager, who came to check on us and chat. Friendly, warm, comfortable place with excellent food. The choices are great, from small plates to larger feasts and great drinks and wine to accompany what you order. Very impressed with this place.

First time here and we had a really great experience. We were seated by the bar and I asked to move and the hostess did all she could to put us at another table. Really great service from everyone. Food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the fish and chips but they mistakenly brought me the black cod but what a happy mistake that was. It was out of this world good. Cocktails were spot on also. We will definitely be back.

Delicious food with unique ways of service. So original! It was like we were on vacation in Hawaii rather than Danville, California
