I was there before about a year ago and food was much better. Pancakes were an odd tough rubbery texture, hollandaise sauce was not great and egg was overcooked. Sorry, I hate leaving a bad review but if it helps then it is a good thing.

I recently visited Café Bernardo in Davis and was really impressed by the overall experience. The atmosphere is casual yet stylish, with a cozy and welcoming vibe. It’s the perfect spot whether you want to catch up with friends, have a quiet meal, or even get some work done.
The menu offers a good mix of options, from fresh salads and sandwiches to heartier dishes. I ordered the avocado toast with eggs, and it was delicious—artful and full of flavor, with perfectly ripe avocado and a hint of spice. The coffee was excellent too, rich and smooth.
Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the food came out quickly despite the cafe being busy. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and they use locally sourced ingredients, which is always a plus.
If you're in Davis and looking for a relaxed place to grab a flavorful bite, Café Bernardo is definitely worth a visit!

Visiting family in Davis and they recommended Cafe Bernardo. Arrived a few minutes before they switched over to their lunch menu, but the hostess was kind and gave us time to order from the breakfast menu (thank you). Mimosas, coffee with cream and bacon avocado omelette…delicious! Would definitely recommend to others.

After dropping the food your on your own. Get your own water, refill your coffee and find condiments if you can. FOOD its not great and overpriced.

My wife & I brought our daughter back to Davis for her last year at UC Davis. We had lunch at Cafe Bernardo and the food was simply amazing. I had the grill salmon salad. Loved it!

Dude, $12 for two eggs. $14 for Belgium waffles. The bananas were inedible, 3 hairs in the oats. Too much $$ for total crap of food.

Absolutely delish! And the perfect amount of food. I also had the seasonal watermelon lemonade that was wonderful on a hot day.

Even though I went to Davis for undergrad, I don't think I ever came here. It was fun to try it out years later! The bowls of coffee were interesting ?
